Historical footage from the 2003 US invasion of Iraq shows India Company, 3/7 Marines assaulting an Iraqi Republican Guard compound near Baghdad.
At the time of this recording, the Iraqi Army was still in existence and US forces had not yet taken Baghdad. The American Marines and soldiers were being fed intel that they were under constant threat of chemical attack by Iraqi forces. It was a wild time to be an infantryman.

I dont think people understand how terrifying the marines are. Imagine 2 groups of men coming to get into your house you start defending and the moment you do these men just start sprinting at you. FYI-just because: At the time of this assault near Baghdad, the CIA and elements of 10th SFG had been in country, embedded with the Kurdish Peshmerga, for 8 months before the official kickoff of the war working with the Kurds in the Kurdish Region of northern Iraq. Split between the two major Kurdish factions in the cities of Erbil and Sulaymaniyah, the CIA officers and 10th Group personnel had been gathering intel on the Iraqi military and political structures and personnel, working Iraqi double agent assets for intel and disinformation, tracking Iraqi HVTs, and operating a "Radio Free Iraq" style radio station broadcasting from Iraqi Kurdistan.
