Metzen tried extremely hard to futureproof Sylvanas. In the WoW RPG, which is almost exclusively written by Metzen, Sylvanas has a special little feature which states she is completely immortal while the Lich King (Arthas) survives, and that no matter what you do to try and put her down, while he's around she'll come back. And if this is the writer equivalent of "You will make sure this character sees this moment or so help me god..."

The thing that's most upsetting about Activision Blizzard at this point is that they keep having really good ideas and making really good things, and then ruining them completely. Warcraft was amazing at first and Overwatch was one of the best and most refreshing FPS titles we had had in a while, but both times the higher ups butchered everything by getting too greedy and overconfident. It's such a shame.
I had only ever heard of Christie Golden from that one Star Wars book I didn’t read. I’m not even a big fan of Ventress but even I thought the blatant fridging of her in order for Vos to return back to the light side was bullcrap. Knowing that the reason for that was from learning of how her WoW books are ten times worse with how she writes female characters good lord…

Not... exactly. You can't sign away statutory rights with no consideration, and stuff like the anti-class-action clause are basically legal speedbumps. A good lawyer could probably clear those away, but they're still obstacles.

Unsurprisingly, Groxigar loves Afrasiabi's pet character Garrosh. He loves how the big strong man who commited war crimes is absolutely unrepentant while he's tortured in hell and calls it "based" and "good writing". But the thought of a strong female character "getting away too easily" after her character arc got derailed? Unbearable.
