I had an Epi 339 of the first run. Sunburst. I didn't like it. Thick neck, sloppy finish. Maybe I should have given it a bit more time, but I sold it and got a 335-like Samick instead. That's a great guitar. Very comfortable.
The red 339 in the video looks a lot nicer than the one I had.
Later I also got a Squier Strat (CV'50). I do regret not getting the Fender Player Series. I played one, and it was clearly better then the Squier.
I love both the semi hollow and the strat. They are very different but in the end do the same thing: offer a lot of great sounds, flexibility and great comfort and playability.
I did wonder why these were being compared 😂
I’ve owned 2 player strats and there was nothing wrong with them they worked just fine but they could never dethrone my Chinese squier.
Now it’s not your standard squire I’ve upgraded everything basically and the reason I did that is the neck on it is beautiful and I love the sunburst body.
I have a 339 pro with p90s in it I personally think you get a bit more guitar for your money with the epiphone and the smaller body is so comfortable.
I have the Noel Gallagher signature Union Jack supernova it’s beautiful and plays lovely but the body is bulky.
Great vid your bends sound better than mine I think all in all people will lean towards the strat they’ll choose the fender over the epi but like you said when the floor gates open you’ll own them all 😂

Is that Strat wired for tone control on the bridge?
Yes
I've been playing about 12 years .... I don't think I've ever once rolled my tone all the way down. Pardon me while I go do that now.
it's a terrible sound
If I want the Strat sound I play my Strat. If I want the Epiphone sound I play my Epiphone. I do like the smaller body.
