[WCT USA] - Group A - 5 Borough v Hollywood Freerunners

  • Опубліковано 21 січ 2021
  • This is the last group match for 5 Borough and Hollywood Freerunners. The winner is guaranteed a place last 8, the losers’ fate rests in the outcome of the final Group A match between GNF and Enso Movement.
    Unfortunately, there was a referee error in this match. In Chase 13, Deyvid made a dive-tag attempt on Kyle right in front of the Mountain at about 18 seconds. One of the referees called it as a Tag so the lights went red. However, when looking back at the footage during the DTR, it was clear that a Tag did not take place. Because it was so late in the chase (i.e. with only 2 seconds left on the clock) the head referee deemed it an Evasion.
    This obviously had huge implications both on the match and on the group table. It is always very unfortunately when a referee decision (or error) determines the outcome of a match but in this case we feel that the decision to award Hollywood Freerunners the Evasion was the correct one. Let us now what you think in the comments below.
    Another (more positive) talking point in this match is the inclusion of Omar Zaki. After seeing his bail in their previous match (and the resulting bruise), everyone expected him to be out for the rest of the tournament. Little did we think he would be playing in the very next match!! Very big up to warrior Omar!!!

    Every one of them has gotten visibly better as evaders and taggers this week. Lots more use of speed rather than waiting by the evaders, more use of the interior space by all players, more trapping by the chasers.

      I actually don't know the answer to that. We never monitored that, so to get the right answer, we'll have to look over all of the previous matches which we'll do one day. Just not now. 3.3 secs has got to be pretty close though.

    Can someone explain the bracket at the end of the video. I get that they get 3 points for each win but what does the E+ column mean and why does enso have 3 points in that column even tho they haven't won.

    • @WorldChaseTag
      @WorldChaseTag  3 роки тому

      E+ is how many Evasion they have scored. We didn't include it in this table but E- is how many Evasion they concede.

      @@WorldChaseTag ya i got confused on some of those letters for a bit as well. i didnt even know you were counting some of the things when it came up, heck i still dont know what they all mean.
      but tell me if I'm wrong or not
      P is rounds won
      W is wins
      T is total (its not tags because its 0, so it would be the total for later on like in qualifying's right)?
      SO is squad outs (I really had no idea on this one but omar was injured last match and might have been out so maybe its the racket to show whos down a player and if thats the case o would do just fine)?
      PTS is point/placement total score (i think you should change the letter to r or just pt for points rounded if im not wrong)
      E+ is evasions
      E- evasions lost
      and you should probably add a few more as well
      TAG+, TAG-
      a number placement from 1-16 (its four right now but the list will get bigger when all 16 teams have been at play)
      and a qualifying section as well in the form of the letter Q or T
      as a suggestion i think it should be tallied a bit more differently as well because its kinda jumbled right now
      1, W, P, PTS, T (if I'm right), E+, E-, TAG+, TAG-, SO, Q
      Wins should be first, then points and its correlating values, fallowed by the extra info and ending with the qualification and handicap section. the tallies need to be orderly do to people having to read them quickly when its shown on air (i had to pause to read it all because it came and went so fast) and even off air its best to have things of the same nature put next to each other for a more simplistic read.

    • @MMPK
      @MMPK 3 роки тому

      P is the amount of matches they've done. W is for wins, T is for ties/draws SD is for sudden death PTS is for points and E+ is the amount of evasions they have. Hope that helps 🙏

    So what’s your plan for milliseconds disrabuts going forward. One day your going to get someone who tags right at the bell (got two this round).
    I’m thinking some form of overtime tiebreaker round (same round different starts) were maby the runner starts in the middle and the chaser picks a corner. Then they get five seconds to tag. No rest and a simulated start that acts as if the match was already taking place.
    It would allow for that tense moment of looking at the cam and seeing if the tag happened or not and if it did it would exspand that tens match up a few more seconds with even higher stakes because you have no time and no good start position creating a dash for the win. Plus it would take away that disrabutable tag (it was right on the red and green light so who’s in the right whem they both believe it’s them who is the winner) and replace it with a real tag or miss, plus if it happens again you just do another one until a decisive play is made.
