Braxton hicks makes your tummy go firm . My friend had them like crazy near the end of her pregnancy. It was for a few weeks though I would say 4-5 weeks prior to having baby

I’d like to just add that this isn’t a universal fact. With my 1st I 100% knew and couldn’t talk through contractions but with my 2nd I was talking and singing along to my playlist right up until push time. Just to add no pain relief with either… so everyone and every birth is definitely different 😊 xx

You were a lucky one then girl because every one of mine I knew when I could no longer focus on talking or it would stop me in my tracks. My second pregnancy was a breeze as far as pushing went but my contractions were horrible with all 3 of mine or maybe I just waited awhile before I went in to the hospital.. I didn’t want to be sitting in a hospital bed hours of waiting.
