Yes those far outside lanes on a interstate are for 2 or more people the rule only applies between 4pm-6pm (rush hour).
I think those far left lanes are if your car needs to stop for an emergency like a flat tire but I think it’s illegal if it’s not an emergency

there's a following distance rule that varies based on speed which allows you to have enough time to react so you probably were just following too close like the guy who crashed was idk if they taught u this in driving school

It is very understated how important distance between the car in front of you is. Whether someone slammed on their brakes with the intention of you hitting them or not be far enough away that it is irrelevant. Way farther than you think you need to be is the appropriate distance, not just enough not to hit them. driving like that is idiotic and most adults do it. Driving as if you have absolutely no time to spare is how unnecessary accidents are caused. Let the people around you be angry don't get angry yourself it only makes the situation worse every single time

That lane is a “HOV” lane it’s like a family lane or something I never got the understanding of it but ONLY 2 or more people in a car can be in that lane. So if someone is driving solo guess you can’t use it

Hey Troydan, apparently you've never been to California. CHP = California Highway Patrol. Each state has these patrols in some form, but which different wording in their titles. Also the lane that you referred to is what is known as an HOV lane or High Occupancy Vehicle. Mainly supposed to be used for carpooling as well as alleviating some congestion, but really anyone with at least 1 passenger can drive in it.

Now my situation wasn't road rage but I had this truck and my lights were out and I knew. This lady pulled up beside me and was honking because she wanted to let me know at first I wasn't paying attention so she honk a couple more times and when I look over her horn got stuck and she got embarrassed and her daughter started laughing and she just drove away.
