Good review. Glad you came around to the 1st person views haha, far better than what Milestone offers in its road racing games. Would love to see more tracks as opposed to bikes. When looking at the domestic and World motorcycle racing championships, its these 8 bikes that dominate the field, so RaceWard Studios got it absolutely right with the bike selection. If the focus is to recreate the best racing machines in the 600 category, you're only adding the ZX6, R6 and maybe the Triumph 675R/765... outside of that there's not much to bother with Need to improve the track selection but other than that, the devs have built a very good foundation on which to grow on
I did mate! You guys inspired me to give it a chance 🔥 Very interesting point about the bikes, I still can’t help to wonder how the smaller bikes would handle with these physics but we do need more tracks and the graphical bugs to be rid of 👍🏻 plenty of things to build upon
Great new adition to the motorcycling game genre. This is a great first try for the RiMs Racing franchise, hopefully RiMs 2 can polish those rough edges.
great review. I had played this for a couple of hours now. And yes there is some flaws but man, I had a blast playing! It has a lot of potential. It feels really nice to have a new motorcycle title out there 👍
I bought it only because of its amazing first person view, and I am very happy I did it ! The sense of speed and feeling that I am actually riding the bike are insane ! I only play time trials with the objective of improving my time on leaderboards, so bad AI is not a problem for me either. So for me until now it's a 10/10 !
@@DrAce46 If MotoGP had such great first person view, I would try it too. Ride 4 I don't plan to try anyway because of the reviews that mentioned its arcadey physics, but if MotoGP ever adds a good first person view like Rims', I would try it for sure. So for now, only Rims for me 🙂
I would disagree that RIDE 4 has arcade physics. It’s actually easier to make mistakes on RIDE 4 than it is on RiMS. The biggest difference is the weight of the bikes. I would recommend RIDE 4 over RiMS any day 👍🏻
@@DrAce46 Really ? Oh well, more research for me to do then 😁 In any case, I only plan to check Ride 4 or MotoGP if they eventually get a nice first person view sometime. Thanks for the replies man, cheers.
It’s a good sim. Physics are more realistic than ride 4…. But, still needs a few tweaks, like every game now these days comes at launch unfinished…. This game have a lot of potential, let’s hope the devs push it through. 👍🏻
"Physics are more realistic than ride 4" I'd have to strongly disagree with you bud. Even in this Video Dr Ace mentioned it's more arcade-ish physics than any other Bike sim games he has played and majority of people feel the same way. I have ride 4, MotoGP 21 and now Rims racing and have about 16 hours in this game and I feel it's much easier to ride and push your bike than any other game. Anyways Physics are not more realistic than Ride 4 by far and not very sim like.
I have to agree with you Artyom mate, I never crashed by the way of too much acceleration or braking to hard. The majority all came by the way of leaning in too much or the weird crash on the rumble strip I kept having in Laguna Seca. I don’t think the physics are a bad thing but they’re just different and not necessarily the sim they dubbed it to be 🤷🏻♂️
@@DrAce46 when using the helmet cam the speed of feeling is much faster and you do more easily mistakes on the throttle. Especially with used tyres like you mentioned. But the bike has a weight transition, if you crash you know why and how it feels more alive than ride4/motogp which is more of a digital feeling without any weight transition. Also the Feedback through my xbox controller is more authentic i feel the tyres instead of rushing through the corner and not to put the throttle in full angle, thats basically the moto gp physics. Maybe someone else can describe it better but anyone who has ridden his superbike on a racetrack would confirm that. I miss european tracks like slovakiaring, grobnik or pannoniaring and italian tracks. The ewc cup or world superbike would be the right franchise for this developer
All that money and development behind MotoGP and their game still sounds like a spectrum or commodore 64 early consol game. This sounds as it should. Like the idea of the bike mods being a biker myself I've always changed my break pipes, break calipers, tyres and so on. Just a pity the bike choice is so limited. Would love them to develop a platform with choice of earlier bikes. Maybe add the TT and some more tracks not listed on the game
The physics are not simulation at all, it can be fun but when you spin the rear tire it’s like a switch is turned on and you just do a rolling burnout until you shift of lift off throttle it’s not natural or linear at all.
It is a mixed bag for me, I love some aspects of it, and I hate some of it. For example, the bikes are less than 200 kg, which you could throw around in a slower corner if you ask me. The rest of the handling model is spot on if you ask me, just needs a bit of adjusment. Changing the brake pads in the pit would help a lot as well. What I really would like to see in a bike sim like this, is adventure bikes, with tracks which are a mix between a mountain road and a dirt road in the forest with the same customisation mechanics and maintenance.
I’m keen to try more bikes and tracks from these guys. I think there’s a lot of potential but I agree, it’s rather mixed but I think I’m leaning towards positive feelings 👍🏻
@@DrAce46 It is strange, you said in the video, that you don't really need to pay attention of corner exits, or something along the line. I have the TC on lvl 2 and pretty much every exit when I'm a bit more throttle happy I get a slide of sorts. I really curious what Milestone's answer will be to this. I think I still prefer Ride 4 over this, because it is a bit easier to pick up, but still can be challange. Sad, that I never really played with the original physics, because I heard the game was a lot better with that.
I find that you don’t have to be as smooth on the throttle as much as you do on the other bike games, i very rarely get any slides. Oh yeah the original physics on RIDE 4 were fantastic! I loved it 🔥
I love the more detailed approach, but somethign about the physic is weird. Like the bike wips violently back and forward even at highspeed, when it should rather only the tyres move as the suspension absorbs the shocks.
Great review. I changed the throttle to maximum sensitivity 10 and saturation 70 and that made it feel better especially when traction control is set to 0. Im not exactly sure what saturation does so if u could do a video on that itd b great. I also put the clutch to the lowest sensitivity, deadzone 15 and saturation 70. Not sure what deadzone is either. But you must try changing the playstation buttons to L2 for the clutch and R2 for the brake and L3 pulling down for the throttle. Its the same location as a real bike. Use R1 and R2 for gears. It feels so real in the game when u do rev matching during downshifts with these buttons assigned and helmet cam. Also with L2 as the clutch I think the wheelies feel so much more realistic in this game over Ride 4. U must try a clutch up wheelie with these buttons in helmet cam :) and dont forget to turn antiwheelie off which kept me scratching my head for 10 minutes LOL.
Thank you mate, I think that controller configuration would take me ages to master 😂 deadzone is the controllers deadzone on the analogue input reducing it means the softest touch will cause an input 👍🏻
