Can you make silicone figures with your silicone molds? Or would pouring more of your silicone into the silicone molds cause the the silicone to melt into each other?
If you also added some edible glitter to the diamond ice, so when it starts melting it will slowly mix with the drink ( and will look like a shiny diamond)
This is awesome! I've been looking for molds to start making shaped baked goods, and now I don't have to spend a ton of money on buying molds when I can make my own! We use Mold Making Material brand, it is a two part silicone. MMM cures in about 3-4 hours and is food safe once cured but we do not recommend using your molds in the oven. You can pretty much make a mold out of anything. Complex or highly textured items are more difficult so choosing smooth, simple items is easier to start.
You can use Mold Making Material for casting epoxy--it works great! If you intend to use your molds for epoxy, do not use them for food. Keep your food molds aside just for use with food. Hi, I purchased your 2 part silicone . I have a springerlee cookie design from switzerland that i've wanted to make out of chocolate so i built up the sides with a cookie cutter and poured the silicone into it , so now basically i have a silicone cookie that i have to make a silicone mold of . my question is , do i need a mold release agent that is non silicone and food safe so that they wont bond together as they are both silicone ??? When doing the two part sets, after the silicone is finished curing what temperature can the mold go up to without problems? I would be looking to melt down my failed 3d prints into my own custom molds to salvage the scraps so it would be going in the oven.

Any advice on what to use to clean it off my work top and tools please would be a fab help as iv tried and failed to clean it off none disposable items.
If your mixed Mold Making Material has spilled after it has been mixed you can just wait the 3 hours for it to cure, then just pull it off the surface it spilled onto. The silicone should not stick to most surfaces so it should be a simple clean up.
@@Artresin Ya I did that, but it was stupid of me to not put a boarder on my surface lol and it was rolling over the side onto my washing machine and dryer, so I couldn't leave it. ( Like I said Really Really new to this lol, learn by my mistake hey ;) ). I got most of it back into a tub and pored it back in once I could manage it. I did manage to save just about enough to make the mould which turned out fab today, even if it was a little short as it just about covered it. The object must have risen because it took me a long time to get the skim it made off (basically it was all enclosed ) I don't do things by halves me and it was a big object. (go big or go home i say ;). It is an expensive hobby so rather than make small moulds I went for a big 21ins long open spaces one hahahah. I'm glad it turned out for me though and shocked it did after the mishap. As for cleaning the surface, It is more about getting all the broken bits up now after trying with soapy water when it happened. Made it harder to clean and it is still not quite fully gone yet. Mold Making Material is intended for molding only. It can withstand temperatures up to 400F to create hard candy for example, however it is not intended for baking, cooking or prolonged heat exposure.

Mold Making Material was designed to create your own mold, I would advise against using it directly for a teething toy as they may be able to bite off a piece and ingest it.
If your resin has not cured within 3 days, it means there was a problem with either the ratio or the mixing and it won't ever cure. You will want to scrape out the wet resin from your mold carefully , then you can wipe with paper towel and isopropyl alcohol to remove any stickiness.
ArtResin is an epoxy resin that was designed as a self leveling sealant for Artwork. While many artists have found other uses for it I would not recommend it for cosmetic veneers, dentures, dental appliances or repairs.
A cold or warm water bath would be fine. Mold Making Material is best used at room temperature, but can withstand being placed in the fridge or freezer, or temperatures of up to 400°F/200°C. Please note that the product is not meant for cooking or for baking items in the oven.
@Artresin In fact, yes I want it for baking but I use volcano steamer than oven but even if I used oven I will make water bath for it , not baking at higher level than 200 °

A water bath on the counter is fine, but we can't guarantee the mold won't get damaged if exposed to a direct heat source. I would follow the label directions for the product/brand you are using :)
I have had the absolute hardest time with this. Lol. I poured water in my container, thought I'd be able to use 1 batch for 1 mold. Turned out I needed more. So I used 2 batches. And now the items are floating to the top. With 45, min of working time....I don't think this is ever going to work. She said after stirring for a bit. 2 min, 3 min, 30 seconds? I stirred it and it looked blue pretty fast . I'm so disappointed that my chocolate project for my wedding is falling apart at step 1. 😂
@@Artresin making the mold. It's ok now I think a couple of my molds are tilted a little deeper. They will just be harder to wrap. Or I can try to shave the chocolate.... But man was this tough.
Hi Bhavna, if the resin in the mold never cured, just wipe it out with a paper towel, once most of it is out you can spritz with alcohol to get sticky residue off. yes! It would be a good idea to fill in some of the voids like around the wheel wells etc with some plasticine so that your mold won't have deep areas that make it hard to remove from the mold and more solid when cast.

Hi Erica, Yes you will want to use a release agent. We do not have a specific brand to use but select one that will work with silicone to silicone.

What did the squirt into the molds with the basters? After they talked about cleaning.
