    Floor has made Nightwish reach their full potential as a band. She is so much more than a opera singer or a pop singer. Her leadership on stage is something Nightwish never had and her presence and ability to communicate with the audience is comparable with such greats as Freddie Mercury. With Tarja they were stuck in the operatic metal box and with Anette they took two steps back. With Floor they became more than a band. They became an experience.

    Thanks for being so observant of the entire performance, mentioning the drummer was great, the dress dna, and the progression, of the song , even the metallica reference. I could. See your appreciation of everyone involved. This was like watching a short movie or documentary. Thanks very much.

    I was amazed to see that most people voted for the Tampere version. The song is about evolution and when you look at and listen to the other versions, you'll notice that the song has evolved. The intro sounds much more interesting to me with Troy on the guitar and an e-bow and...
    Whatever, it's all good. I'm still surprised though.

    Yes Dave, that was a nod to Enter Sandman you heard :) there's at least 2 or 3 other "easter eggs" that are nods to past music. There is SO MUCH going on in the back, it's a true masterpiece. I've heard it so many times, and I still pick up new things. Thanks for reacting to it

      The nod to Enter Sandman was the end of an ultra short tour through musical evolution. In a few bars they pass about 6 or 7 different musical styles to resemble the evolution of music. In the studio version you can hear the different parts better than in the live recording.

    • @timomastosalo
      @timomastosalo 4 роки тому +1

      Yeah, that whole part 'in blue' where there are the lizard and the snake in the back screen, is like telling the human history in music. The Enter Sandman bit even ends in a few Techno beats.
      And I think we should count the whole tribal drum part along: most of our history our music was something along those lines, before more instruments and themes entered. And yet it's still in the core of our music, like Techno music could be called tribal, if it used the old acoustic Instruments. It's almost a loop :)

    I love to see how excited other people get when they listen to nightwish. This is not just music! This is everything! This is thought provoking! That last part when they sing "we were here" represents the whole song! That is the moment when I'm all goosebumps! Just watched you on my TV! You both are wonderful! You even knew the DNA design in Floor’s costume! This is my favorite NW song! I cry every time I watch Tampere. The crowd at the end makes a primal howl. This band is the best of my 6+ decades witnessing some of the best collective musical genius in many genres of music. 14 months of the deepest dive available, via the “Noise”. I am so grateful grateful I am that I will see them in 7 months in NYC, in a big club venue. New Amsterdam, here we come! Hopefully they will be able to do larger venues in US 2021! You both made my day! A toast to We We’re Here. Human. Nature. Thanks!

    For the "We were here" chorus, this and other recordings don't really do it justice compared to what it is like to be there in the crowd, hearing the entire audience screaming their hearts out singing those three words. It is truly awe-inspiring being there in person.

    • @LXPhotographie
      @LXPhotographie 4 роки тому

      The recordings already make me feel on the verge of tears as this is such a strong yet simple statement. "We were here" as the band+the audience or mankind.
      I'm sure Floor's and Marco's powerful vocals must take you to another dimension at that point.
      I have tickets for their Paris show later this year, I hope the Covid-19 situation will allow it and hope they sing this.

    Hype train you made my day by choosing to react to this unbelievably epic yet complex masterpiece. Never knew that Marco co written it. Insightful reaction to a great work of art. All the members of the band got their time to shine in this, however Marco and Floor where phenomenal in this. Show me another male/female singing duo in rock or metal who have half their talent because I don't think it's possible. Tuommas should be seen for what he is in this which is a modern day Mozart /Bach. Probably his finest achievement to date.... Its so unfair that a band of this calibre isn't a household name worldwide and every music station /channel isn't playing this or their other work for that matter at every opportunity. I'm just glad that we the nightwish fans are here at this moment in time to experience this incredible band. WE ARE and WERE HERE! 🎶⌚🎶😍

    Not sure if anyone has commented but this is just about the 4.5 billion years of Earths forming and evolution so the fireworks represents the asteroid bombardment in the early stages of Earths existence.

      Lol I always think drummers get a raw deal as there mostly hidden away but add so much to the music and takes a lot of work especially with these kind of bands 👍😊.... Kev

    Yes...that is the riff from Metallica Enter Sandman, a subtle pun to the "single grain of sand" line and the whole sands of time implications in this song.
    No, you didn't ask, but it was all over your face 🤣
    Remember, *nothing* is coincidental with Tuomas Holopainen.
    [Edit]
    Ah you both caught it, nicely done.

    This is a pompose Mammoth of a song. Great execution as always. But do we really need this, I wonder. Maybe or maybe not! It's although one of the best progressive rock songs of all time. Floor wears there colors of our flag: blue and white. The whole evolution in a one song, insane idea! 😵 Great reaction!

    Since you are British you might be interested in the remark the Devonian Sea. Devon was it coined for, because it is proof of the earliest fossils, those microscopic ones where life sea life began, resulting in two sets of DNA combined to use primordial gasses and as a by-product produced oxygen.
