    Look on the inside of the gray portion to see if it's a real vornado or just vornado sticker on a generic humidifier. The blade should be short but have high angle, and the motor should be made by Super Electric Motor Ltd. Hong Kong.

      When I look on the fan blade itself I see no writing The motor looks like a typical computer fan

      @@livefree6878 yep, it’s a real Vornado. The second one they shipped me as a warranty replacement doesn’t do any better. Evaporative just isn’t capable of bringing humidity in even a small 300 ft.² room anywhere close to 50% humidity, let alone 1000 ft.² it’s rated for. Now they don’t want to return my money because I didn’t buy it directly from them… that’s what I call warranty fraud. They want to give me a credit, but they’ve discontinued the steam units and they offer nothing else that I use around my house … except for my money back.

      So, there are counterfeits floating around?

      @@BobSperber Mine has no problem going to 55% even when it's sunny out. I'm in LA, where the air is dry. My place is the same size as yours, and I also have guitars. I'd upload a photo but can't see how to do so.

    have you tested the results with a hygrometer? I have, and it’s a giant FAIL. I’m on my 2nd day nit. WHY? Despite its 1000 sq ft rating, it can’t even bring my 350 square-foot musical instrument room to 50% humidity. I would love to know your experience, if you actually validate the results with a hygrometer.

      Interesting you ask the question, when I set it up I put a Hydro meter on a table pointing at the wall. The first day it started to move in the more humid direction. A couple days later it doesn’t seem to be making any advancements maybe even slightly less humid in the room. I’ve never used another humidifier so I don’t have anything to compare. I fill one of the containers up every day. I was expecting to see the needle move a lot more on the humidistat. 👍

      @@livefree6878 Ouch1 I've got about the same size for my studio apartment, which is my music studio. Saxes, pianos, guitars. I currently have an ultrasonic by Levoit that brings it to 50%, but leaves white dust everywhere, which will ruin my instruments. I'm about ready to buy this one. Did you use the cheap filter, which Amazon reviewers reported makes this thing work properly? Apparently the original ones are too thick to wick properly.

      Ok but if the water tanks are depleting, then the water HAS to be going somewhere, right?

      @Izaya_Orihara Рік тому +3

      @@JeffreySaxophoneTallNewton The white dust is due to minerals in your water. Switch to filtered water or distilled water and that would solve your problem. If you want to be bougie, go get milli-q grade water lol

      Funny I have the same humidifier and it does humidify my 650 sqft studio apartment quite a bit. In fact I have to turn it down because it sometimes make it too humid.
