Dr. Lena, I am always so happy to see you with Lady G and Hogarth.
I covered the women’s specialty surgical clinics in Kentucky as a pharmaceutical rep for years. I also covered the fertility clinics, private specialty practices, planned parenthood, and university programs. I provided both contraception and also fertility drugs. I know the complexities of both the moral and medical decisions on both sides of these issues. I also knew as a teenager who provided the back alley abortions. I saw their doctor bags and instruments. There are too many people weighing in that don’t know their ass from a hole in the ground. These are personal and private medical choices made. This is not a public circus that it has come to be. These private conversations should be left up to the patient and qualified medical experts. These hypocrites in religion and politics are clueless. Peace and we have choices, not for them to dictate. They should manage their own lives, not others. Period!

A few years ago China raised the children allowed to 3. My son married a Chinese woman, they had a child without applying for approval first and my son had to pay 1 million yuan fine. I think the fines must increase with the person’s income. Poor women were given forced abortions. My daughter in law then had second son. Again this caused financial problems for my son. I asked her whether she plans having another child for the Country, no way was her reply. Daughter in law told me, that the Chinese government doesn’t provide daycare for babies so mothers can return to work. Nor does the Chinese government provide a pension for Senior Citizens or Nursing Homes. There are Nursing Homes available for elderly who have no children to care for them. However, I watched a documentary concerning this issue, the elderly are in dormitory like rooms. Care and equipment in these facilities is not what we in the West could consider even minimum standards.
As for the Pope's statement, I don't know if it's still the same today, but years ago, if a woman was in labor in a Catholic hospital, and the doctor had to choose between saving the mother or the baby, the doctor had to choose the baby. This was something that my ex mother-in-law faced when one of her children was born placenta previa. Both of them almost died. Since Kamala is pro choice, well, he's got the audacity to compare her with true evil...Trump
I retired at 66 which as the new age limit at the time. Anything older is unfair. Im exhausted at age 71 now and retired. Working this long is pushing it too much.

Lena, here’s the sweetener you mention at 8:17 in the US. If you wait till 70 to collect social security, you receive monthly 25% more than if you had taken it at 65. For example, if a person were going to get $2000.00 a month, after waiting to 70 they get $2,500.00. Per month for the rest of their lives. Instead of $24,000 a year, at 70 they start getting $30,000.00 a year. When is not the issue for many in the US. It’s how much. In the US how much is determined by how much and for how long one pays into social security. Many who are self-employed or are with a willing employer lie to reduce their annual taxes not realizing that consequently once they start getting social security, the amount will sadly be low. Yet still many while younger “work under the table” and so doing cheat themselves in the long run.
Meanwhile, I started taking soc sec at the first moment I could, bc it will take until I am 77 to "regret" the decision. Who knows if I'll live that long? And enjoying more money than less for the 15 years along the way to 77... priceless.

I'm watching later after live show. But, I want to mention that in the USA, FULL Social Security benefits don't kick in until age 72 now. I'm 80 and 15 years ago it was only age 65. If the very rich were taxed 15% income & Capitol Gains Tax on corporations, noproblen with supporting retirement and disabilities. Dumphy wanted to cut all disabled under 65 off SSD, even children with severe birth defects, Downs Syndrome, et cetera. My disabled granddaughter was cut off SSD for over a year. She also lost medical coverage. The letter reinstating her was a joke! 🇺🇲🇺🇲🇺🇲

I was put in to the Catholic Church as a child for school and I was five years old and beaten up by a nun almost on a daily basis until my mother finally made her first swearword which was damn it’s a dangerous place but many years later I met an X nun that wrote a book called A Bas habbit
When one is younger it is easy to make retirement plans which are often predicated on one’s current health and well-being, but of course life does not always work out as we would like.
Thanks for shout out at start Hogie, on China people forget they work the majority of the year with a month off around their New Year. The conditions especially in some factories are grim so even retiring a lot earlier then western society, they’ve probably worked twice as long.

When you freeze your credit it's for 7 years. Unless it's changed. You can still make purchases but you'll jump through hoops. Worth it.

Hogarth, you and the ladies should take a fresh look at Georgia. I live in a 70% republican county in SE Georgia (Bulloch County, near Savannah). In the last week, I and a lot of my democratic friends have noticed that most of the Trump and MAGA yard signs, bumper stickers, T-shirts and hats have disappeared. Yesterday I sat in the window of a local coffee shop in Statesboro watching for bumper stickers going by on a very busy street. I saw confederate bumper stickers but not a single Trump or MAGA one. That's a huge change from just a week ago. This does not mean that everybody is about to vote for Kamala, but it does mean that they are suddenly finding it embarrassing to associate with Trump. On this past Tuesday there was an empty seat between me and a local democratic politician at an official city meeting. A former local Republican Party leader sat down between us and said: "Do you gentlemen mind if I join you? It's way less embarrassing to sit with you democrats than with my republicans right now." If this is happening in ruby red Bulloch County, I suspect that Trump is on track to getting slaughtered in Georgia as a whole.

I don't understand why everyone is having such a hard time understanding this in regards to the Pope. I became a Catholic in my 20's but have found that those that were raised Catholic had everything drilled into their heads. I was old enough to decide what I believed and didn't believe but not everyone had that choice. Catholics are taught that Abortion is a 1000% wrong, wrong, wrong. A lot of Catholics don't accept that but the Pope has NO choice. The Pope cannot stand Trump and sees and knows a lot of what Trump has done so there is no way he would endorse Trump. As much as he would like to endorse kamala he can't because she is for abortion so e had no choice except to say vote for the lesser of 2 evils. meaning the abortion is evil. He had NO choice. If money was really involved he would have said vote for Kamala because of the women who are mostly for abortion and attend church more than men. I am sure he had a really, really hard time with this because he sees the evil in Trump.
You are exactly right that Francis simply had no choice but to totally support the Church's basic teaching on abortion. I love the man, but am very disappointed in him. He could have simply declined to comment on American politics.
