Having grown up in the seventies in a small town. I understand what happened or more so how. These men were very good at what they did and as this was unheard of any doctor telling them that the girl looked like she hadn't been hurt her saying he didn't They would believe it they had no reason not to. The people around them the church friends other family members would have done everything to make this go away. Sadly this was a ground Breaking case. Anyone attacking her Parents has no idea what it was like back then Her parents have spent the rest of their lives living with the guilt wondering what or how they could have saved. I say this as a victim of a family member that no one thought would do this. I never told anyone even after I figured out for myself. I still lived in silence until after he passed away many years later. Growing up in that time I understood that somehow even as a very young child I had done something to cause it.
