Bagasse is the fibre. It contains lignin a natural gum that can bind these fibre together under heat. These can be converted to extruded firewood. That is done with rice husk in Bangladesh. Plates made of processed bagasse could replace 50% of plastic and styrofoam.
It is certainly soothing that people are making efforts to provide a healing touch to our mother nature. But, I feel govt. should provide subsidies to such start-ups and also promote them. Govt. can also make such utensils compulsory in govt set ups like railways. Also, our premier institutions should work to improve the technology to reduce the cost and make it less machine intensive so that the tech can be set up in low investment
Govt is providing them subsidies under MSME act. Yes more research is required so that more industries grow up in India manufacturing these kind from waste. Also like you said promotion is required
The irony is when plastic introduced, it were promoted as environmental friendly alternative for paper packaging, the narrative is we need to reduce cutting down the tree, and plastic is recyclable
Here in Canada, I recently bought a milkshake from McDonald’s - with a paper straw just like the ones that were ubiquitous decades ago. Unfortunately, it only worked properly for a few sips, then was wet and collapsed. It was very hard to drink after that. So these ecopreneurs have to not only make a product that seems like a reasonable replacement for plastic, but also performs properly. But I am happy to see Chuk and all the other innovative companies doing this good work!
It needs such visionaries in our nation n in the world around to make an action based fight against plastic pollution that is the cause of eventually most of the kinds of pollution
💡 Indian Govt. could impose an additional charge while purchasing products that are either packed or sold in plastic materials. [ same principle can be applied for glass and other ♻️ material ] Every customer could be rewarded in some way, let's say per 50-100gms on returning the clean & empty plastic item. This way, people would be educated & mindful how they dispose off their plastics (& other ♻️ material) waste - simultaneously keeping the country "cleaner and greener"!
I use paper products made from renewable bamboo, here in Canada. Ditching that sugarcane waste in a landfill will lead to methane being released, but here in BC we collect that landfill methane and burn it for electricity.
Zabardast 👍 ,,, in the subcontinent concept of 'ENVIRONMENT' or CARBON FOOTPRINT is least bothered and discussed. I must say this company is making some difference. I Hope more people will start thinking on these lines.
It always amazes me how the governments never openly and loudly appreciate these products. It's like they don't even want to make the world better.....
When our mindsets aren't entangled everything is going to be beneficial we can easily understand where and when to use what. Biodegradablities are certainly superior qualities for environmental issues. We could certainly use in many ways. In Punjab burning parali has been reduced by utilizing fodder for different uses. Air pollution is amongest most dangerous pollution, burning causes bigger problem..
Hi. Please. Tell me how to ship it in Philippines Can I be somehow a reseller of these good stuff from India. I love the idea an I'm an environmentalist. Please. I wanna contribute to the betterment of environment. It needs help please. ...
Instead of converting bagasse into costly products, Can it not be exported to desert arid lands to convert it into crop bearing soil or as fertilizers Arabian gulf countries could be an example.....🤔
The products hav to solve the problem at the same time b able to compete, thats the lesson the world has learnt, price is a deterrent , in order to b successful this company has to compete with the rest of the product & 'no' govt subsidy is not the answer , compete to survive , thats the name of the game .
Unless government good initiative to bring strict law the usage of plastic will not come down. People should discourage to use plastic. Government should encourage with zero tax on companies producing degradable products. Above all individual citizens who really care for nature should discourage and avoid usage of plastics in daily life to the maximum if possible avoid 100 percent
What about reusable plates??? Cleaning them will use less energy than producing those one way plates... And since India is using a lot of coal and oil to produce energy this is far away from being environmental friendly...
Sadly only philanthropy and caring for environment doesn't drive businesses and companies, money and profits do, so they need to figure out the way to earn profit if they wanna survive.
Really good .sugar cane is majar crops in india. If we use this sugar cane powder base plates Our nature our soil our environment will save for future. Thank you

So beautiful to see all these biodegradable solutions and options emerging.
Thank you Yash Pakka, Claudia Barona and other innovators around the world! Hopefully we'll see the end of plastic sooner rather than later.
Government is banning plastic so it should also promote this type of products to replace the plastic
There is no plastic ban on ground. Plastic bags are in use every where.
@@SurajSinghTomarAryayes, also remember that single use plastic is banned not everything
On the lines of EV govt needs to give subsidies to promote
@@navneetkaliait would be more efficient to remove the subsidies that petro-chemical companies enjoy.

Sugarcane is not a tree category, its under farming. In that case we should not cut rice/wheat/maze trees..!
Amazing. Am interested in sugarcane products and want to learn more about the chemical properties of it.
These people are the actual climate warriors

Entrepreneurs are trying. Consumers also have to be more acceptable of slight discomfort or cost for sustainability
It is reported that Bagasse can be used as a medium for growing mushrooms.
Wow! Very impressive! Bravo!

I've used them, high quality, far better than paper.

These are worthy warriors. Salute
I don't know if we use this in Louisiana but ; we grow a lot of sugar cane in the swamp's 😎
True environmental champions🙏🏽💯💯
Big salute to Ved
If R and D succeeds to reduce that additional 20% ,that's the real game changer.
I appreciate your work .
It is ideal for perishable commodity transport to replace wood and paper boxes. This will save deforestation.
The future can be bright if we all co-operate.
Thank you for caring!!
Good initiation... Can I get the number of any one from that factory
This is really great but I do notice they use a lot of water. Can they recycle the water and reuse it at all?
Yes and you one can also use that water for crop irrigation...the water has natural fertilizer content

Each indian should avoid use of plastic so,there will be less non- biodegradable issue and More use of digradable product.
In tamil We used to Call Sugar As Chakkarai *சர்க்கரை* today i came to know , this word is derived from Chuk..
Tnx
Bagassa. sounds like the portuguese word for grape must. How interesting.
Can it be used to make plastic covers in which food items are packed for ex dal, curd, etc
Banning and promoting products simultaneously only will help to win the war against the plastic
Kudos, please let us know where can we buy this in bangalore. i want to be a proud user of this product

Plastics are not a problem - waste management problems cannot be attributed to plastics.
Can you make paper napkins as well?
They make sugarcane bagasse napkins
Hi can I get this project details from you.
Instead of converting bagasse into costly products, Can it not be exported to desert arid lands to convert it into crop bearing soil or as fertilizers Arabian gulf countries could be an example.....🤔
It's not nutrient rich enough to be used as a substitute to soil.
So what's the hold up? Do it
Good person
Minimum wage is not 5000 but 8000
A worker getting 10k in today's world will barely be able to get by the whole month.
India has been using biodegradable plates and cups for many centuries. This is just one more product.
Nice.
Great innovative process
Thanks

Yes. He just said so.
Real environmentalists. Shame on clowns calling themselves one on london Roads blocking traffic & vandalising showrooms in Orange paint.
Plastic has destroyed our beautiful earth.
And humans along with it
I want Star this business

Or india could outlaw single use plastic items.
You can make better products with Hemp!
Try contraception
131$ a month. Thats low
Yeah, it’s low. But the living costs in India are low as well. 10k isn’t much, but it’s better than other alternatives for a poor worker.
