Sony Xperia 1 III is the best phone this year. The price is good, it's got headphones jack , it's got Micro SD Card and Notification LED. Probably the best OLED screen too since it's from Sony

The only niggle is the phone likes to reset itself fairly regularly its not a bad thing just a strange regular occurrence well with mine anyways. This ADAC is probably the best in class so using a wired head set gives you awesome sound quality and that is worth it in itself. As mentioned the SD slot is great and its a sim tool free SIM card access. Need I go on 🙂
Hello, I'm about to buy that phone but are a person who don't know how to use the camera other then point & click. Do you have any advice for me please
@@olegloca5812 Yes sure. First of all if you just leave as normal without adjusting to other camera focus settings it will just keep you in basic point click use. I think that's a bit disrespectful to people saying that. I "point and click" and the end result is more often than not, better than if I stood and attempt to manually tune and focus with finicky smartphone touchscreen controls. I really enjoyed this phone my issue was that I couldn't buy it when it got released in the states, and it was around the time the 6 series also got released. So I was more or less trying to get my hands on whichever phone got in stock first. Which the pixel 6 pro did.
I hate how soft the main screen is, it scratches so easily it's upsetting, I had rough hands from working, and my fingers alone scratched up my screen before I noticed. Also whenever I use speaker mode to talk I can't hear the people I'm talking to and they can't hear me, might be an easy solution for this, but I'm unaware. Also hate how when watching UA-cam videos, one can't drag the video off screen to use the full realestate of the phone.
I appreciate the review. I was equally happy with my old Samsung Note 9 but my gripe is always that anything of that price range really needs to demonstrate not only its value in features and build quality but long-term reliability as well. Granted, I can't complain about a battery that has served me well for four years but despite keeping my phones away from liquids, sudden temperature changes and always in an Otterbox Defender case, no Samsung phone I've had since the Note 2 has lasted beyond two to four years before developing a hardware fault (not the battery). Whether it was a failed eMMC, poor soldering of the eMMC or now with my Note 9, a display flex cable that inexplicably develops a fault, they're not made to last for the money paid. Upgrade junkies will scoff at me for saying so but I would expect the hardware of a phone as expensive as the Note 9 to last at least six years, especially when Samsung (and others) harp on about environmental sustainability and whatnot. Software support is one thing but if the phone is still doing its job, then there's no reason for me to be wasteful with it. With Samsung having blown their chances, I'm definitely considering this one and really don't need the newer 1 IV flavour, so I can now save some bucks while I'm at it. :) Thank you for further educating me that this phone is worthy of consideration. Hopefully its hardware will last longer than Samsung's.
@@J-1410 I do miss the more accurate Swypetype keyboard, S-pen and the overall UI that Samsung do put a lot of effort into. Otherwise, the phone is a solid performer. Camera is also quite average compared to the Samsung but I have a real camera for that anyway. You'll have to ask me again in about three years though, because my motivation to go Sony was always about long-term reliability, so I thought I'd try them out and see if they can outlast Samsung's planned obsolescence. 😁
@@larzblast Out of curiosity with the camera, how well does it do compared to the Note 9 in auto or basic mode? I've seen reviews that state great and terrible about basic mode, but always in comparison to something like the S21 or whatever newer one. I'm somewhat concerned about the "just enough time to point and shoot" pictures , otherwise it looks like manual mode you can get just as good or better than the note. My motivation is that too, I can't get more than a couple years out of mine before hardware failure.
@@J-1410 Camera is very average in those modes compared to the Samsung. I find that to be quite surprising, given Sony's pedigree in digital imaging. Maybe they got the rookie engineers fresh out of university to work on this one?
I want to buy the xperia 1 mark iii. But I am concerned about the brightness, the low nit count, compared to other smartphones. Is that really to worry about? Thanks for your reply.
I didn't check the phone in real life. And I don't know how bright it is. But I'm sure of one thing. When Tech reviewers complain about brightness, or other stuff, they usually nitpick a lot. And that's natural, they are comparing the device with other devices. They have to be very specific, measuring, and technical. So when they say that brightness is an issue, that doesn't necessarily mean that it's an issue for some normal everyday user or that it's 'worrying'
I am still on my xperia xz premium. Was waiting for xperia 1 IV, but it seems it is not big upgrade from xperia 1 iii. Now iii it is cheaper then IV, so thinking to get xperia 1 iii.
i brough it and waiting to receive it its make me exited))) im know we in 2023 and there are 1 V but still even for now its very good phone and much better price
This is just unnecessarily specific. You should care about numbers, not correlations. The phone with it's 4k screen lasts for a day. You either accept that or you search for another. But saying 4k is overkill because it drowns the battery is just unnecessary
Just sold this absolute beast - saved a pile of money and got back to my LG V60 ThinQ. After few month of use I came to conclusion that the only thing I really liked about Xperia 1 III was design. Everything else - average, the same as competitors or even worse. Not worth even a half price of what Sony is charging for it!
I own it and hate it. Overheats, screen is unusable on sun, screen turns on during call, battery lasts only about a day with light use, camera is nothing special. To expensive for what it offers.
Nice review just being objective. Keep it up. Yeah a lot of "youtubers" out there who reviewd this phone complained a lot. Its because they dont know how to use sony phones.
@@krisvaras7801 Or ;) people mostly change phones frequently in US and some other developed countries. Rest of the world not Another issue with Sony phones in 2022 is unavailability of esim capabilities what makes it less convenient for travel purposes
🥚 definitely wondering about this for my next phone - currently using Find X2 Pro and despite how good the X5 Pro looks I reckon come my upgrade date in my contract I can probably get a good deal on an Xperia 1 iii contract - I love the idea of expandable storage, stock android and physical shutter button etc! It's either that or look for the Pixel 6 pro on a decent deal - life's getting too expensive these days to upgrade to the very latest device!!
For me it's not the aesthetics, the shape, the thickness of a phone that's important, for me it's the camera, because otherwise all phones are similar. I have a Sony Xperia 1 iii and I was disappointed with the camera. Especially at night, or when there is little light. Also there is no safe. I was disappointed
Just think if Sony did 1/50 of the advertising that Samsung does. At least people (other than those who watch gadget vlogs) would know Sony phones exist. As it stands, Sony (like other Japanese companies) plays to lose.
As much as I want to buy it... it just makes me wish Samsung would offer an "old folks" model with the features I want. I think that's the biggest reason why Samsung has become so brash with their elimination of the 3MM headphone jack and SD card, and those God awful rounded bezels... is because they know the Samsung user experience will keep me from going anywhere else. I use my phone outside... and the Xperia's 500 nit brightness just doesn't cut it. I also operate 90% of my business from my phone... so the skinny screen doesn't fair well either. Above all, I need the biggest and brightest screen on the market... and that means I have to give into Samsung tyranny and forego the beloved 3mm jack and SD card 🤦♂️
3.5mm jack, SD card slot, flat screen, narrow easy to hold form factor . These are not enthusiast's features. They should be a basic additions to any flagships. Apple keeps playing silly investors first games and everyone else follows...nice to see Sony going off the beaten track a bot
What sony needs to do is go back to its own sony skin version of android stock does not suit sony and doesn't feel like a sony phone. 2 give 4 to 5 years update like Samsung to make it a £1000 worthy phone keep the headphone jack and sd card
My partner has this phone and its terrible. the camera/camera app is awful. It freezes after ever shot. It has so many issues. It truly turned me off Sony phones.

With Samsung having blown their chances, I'm definitely considering this one and really don't need the newer 1 IV flavour, so I can now save some bucks while I'm at it. :) Thank you for further educating me that this phone is worthy of consideration. Hopefully its hardware will last longer than Samsung's.
So how is it going with the 1 III? I'm looking at coming from the 9 and going to the 1 III too.
Wonderful music experience ♥️♥️♥️✨✨✨✨💫🌸🌸🌸🌸🌸🌸🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
If you hate the Google assist button you have the sony xperia 1ii.👍 your welcome. Mine works very well still in 2022
How much to buy your limited edition "full day battery no questions asked" 1iii??
I'm betweeen these and the Pro-I... though the latter is way more expensive
I can’t decide between the Sony Xperia 1 mark 3 and s21 ultra, which one will you recommend and why
@Dalibor Sveti any specification about them?
How does the Sony (and Samsung) handle snaps of moving objects?
? ...Sony is the best in capturing moving object and auto focusing and tracking
It's now official! ´
The new Xperia's will be revealed May 11th!
🍳 Thanks!
I'm still on my XZ2, should I get this or wait for the 1 IV coming out this fall?
I am still on my xperia xz premium. Was waiting for xperia 1 IV, but it seems it is not big upgrade from xperia 1 iii. Now iii it is cheaper then IV, so thinking to get xperia 1 iii.
Im pretty simple with my phone..I need a expandable microSD option..Samsung got rid of it and lost a long time customer
Ridiculously expensive and two year system support only???which year is it released from two year of support?
Nice. Wish i could have this phone.
🥚
Love this presentation, and raw honesty. Soo great as every other phone review is like a hard-sell. I'll be back!
Damien you're from Leeds! 😁
Still on my XZ Premium (4k beast) but eyeing this phone
Get the Xperia 1 II if you want a similar experience while cheaper. It still a great device.

Maybe Xperia 5 III
i brough it and waiting to receive it its make me exited)))
im know we in 2023 and there are 1 V but still even for now its very good phone and much better price
Did you like it? Hows the experienced?
watching this on my xp1 and still rocking it.. just the 64gb is getting it's toll😂
Sony Xperia 🥰
launch XPERIA 1 IV with DEDICATED SD CARD SLOT & 2 sim card slots PLEASE :))
🥚 great video
4k display is overkill. It means the battery juices out quicker and the max brightness is subpar to prevent burn-in.
This is just unnecessarily specific. You should care about numbers, not correlations. The phone with it's 4k screen lasts for a day. You either accept that or you search for another. But saying 4k is overkill because it drowns the battery is just unnecessary
Made in Japan produce with high integrity quality products!!!
And the best thing about Sony... Is the design. This alone triumph all the other areas.
It's minimal, sleeks and looks Sony. That's all we need.
That just meant you got yourself into something you didn't comprehend. It's good thing you could back off
i have this , poor batery life poor signal , what more to want ?
I own it and hate it. Overheats, screen is unusable on sun, screen turns on during call, battery lasts only about a day with light use, camera is nothing special. To expensive for what it offers.
Am sony die hard fan ,my first and present phone is sony
Nice review just being objective. Keep it up. Yeah a lot of "youtubers" out there who reviewd this phone complained a lot. Its because they dont know how to use sony phones.
🥚 great review
nice phone !
Unfortunately Sony provides two years support only. That’s not enough. 4 years is 2022 standard for flagships
I'm sure it will change.
@@A_Nellprober i wont bet on it :-(
many people switch phones every 2 years anyways or?
@@krisvaras7801 Not anymore. Beside the camera i dont see a need to upgradd
@@krisvaras7801 Or ;) people mostly change phones frequently in US and some other developed countries. Rest of the world not
Another issue with Sony phones in 2022 is unavailability of esim capabilities what makes it less convenient for travel purposes
Great 👍👍
Been rocking the Xperia 1 since 2019, battery hardly last a full day anymore, phone still works decently but guess it's time to upgrade 🥚
Too bad it doesn't have an ESS Sabre DAC like on the V60.
Great phone
For me it's not the aesthetics, the shape, the thickness of a phone that's important, for me it's the camera, because otherwise all phones are similar. I have a Sony Xperia 1 iii and I was disappointed with the camera. Especially at night, or when there is little light. Also there is no safe. I was disappointed
🥚
Thank you for this informative video.
Sony boy 😎
Just think if Sony did 1/50 of the advertising that Samsung does. At least people (other than those who watch gadget vlogs) would know Sony phones exist. As it stands, Sony (like other Japanese companies) plays to lose.
🥚oops forgot to add!
❤❤❤❤❤
Someone pls buy this phone for me, I will need it for my constractions
The phone is horrible going back to my LG velvet
🥚 🐣 🐥 I like this phone for the expandable storage and earphone jacks. I will vote with my dollar till the end.
Phone is too tall and battery life sucks. Otherwise everything else looks great
