I used to love this brand and I spent a lot of time praising them to artist friends and money on their products (more than I should have lol) until I posted on Instagram some stories with lightfastness tests results that showed many of their colours faded dramatically in 2-3 months. They blocked me. I'm unable to view their profile on insta now and unable to tag them if I post art made with their products. I guess they should block the sun. It saddened me. I stopped using their paints and brushes even though I really loved them. But I can't find joy when holding them anymore. I got upset and even if it's petty, I called them out (although politely) on this unprofessional move. They should simply update the lightfastness information and stop claiming they have excellent lightfastness. People still buy fugitive paints. Lying is not a good idea.

@@Shesvii I am not surprised by this, I don't buy Beam anymore because on how low the tinting strength is. Their Pthalo blue, is so pale it might as well be a cobalt.. It fades so fast when I use it. The other colors are also so pale that I rarely use them, I have a small four color set that i got in a whim and its okay, but I am pretty much going to stick with brands that are more richer than Beam sadly.
If I remember correctly, they've also reformulated the more opaque colors to be easier to rewet now too! Especially peach and robins egg blue. They're so lovely to work with after I got the new formula.
I just love Beam paints! I only have two colors - the shiny red that came in their little turtle palette, and Valentine red. It's so hard not to hoard their paints like a greedy dragon lady!!!
The Beam paints are so beautifully packaged, so elegant somehow. But..... It seems like you get so little actual product. I've not seen them in real life, only in videos but the dots look tiny.
i have the gouache palette and i have to say it isn’t a lot of product like its okay but for the price its really not much. I think if you want more paint it would be best to buy their watercolor paint stones!
I love all the paintings but the one in the middle is my favorite. The eyes are magnificent. Thank you for the demonstration of Beam paints. I just ordered a small palette.
My favorit is the second of your works. There is something in it... a feeling I can hardly find words for. Very special and artistic! I do not like the third at all. Shapes & colors don't speak to me. But I enjoy your videos so very much! Thank you for your "so soft company" 💚
I had small Beam watercolour palette, and while paints were good, for painting on a go the wooden palette is too wasteful of the space; into the metal tin of about the same size I could pack about 16-18 half-pans freely. It looks nice on photos, though, and if one paints in studio/at home, the size is probably not an issue, but as I couldn't take paints off the palette without breaking them I gave the whole thing away.
oh wow!! the layering on the first one reminds me of leaves or flower petals that have been dried with only the veins preserved (I think skeleton leaves or smth??) its really ethereal, and I love the peaches and deep purples mixed with the turquoise on the third one :D what brush are you using at 3:45? I cant recall if you've said you got it at blue heron arts or if that was a different calligraphy brush. I like how long the bristles are lol :)
i believe ive found them in one of your older videos, so I suppose my question is no longer relevant 😅 thank you for making a review about them in the past /gen
Hi I had a look at your how to make watercolor videos. I wanted to where you got your glass slab from and does it have to be a glass slab or can you use an acrylic slab - newbie to the process 😊 thanks
I think it's lovely for those interested in indigenous traditional crafts ect, and I think that's its real target market, but as professional watercolour artists equipment ? ...naw, sorry.. !
Nice colors and hmm... "cute" pallet?🤔 well its just some piece of wood with hole in it and the brand name on it... if you have the bee wax at home just go outside and if you kniw where to get it you could make the same pallette yourself for free propably... i dont wanna know what they want you to pay for this😑 its always like that with stuff like that
But why does it sound like this is a video where you take back all of your negative opinions because they tipped you off or paid you to talk better of them . . .
Some of you guys really see Beam paints with open eyes; but so many still don't see this for the obvious scam it is: weak, fugitive, amateurish paints which are lazily overpackaged. Wokeness to the max. A revolting spectacle.

Thank you for your story, this is good thing to know.
@@hiddenshadow2105 very welcome. I thought some may want to read it and find it useful.

the first layer is so angelic, i love how translucent and delicate your paintings are!!
Your skill with values never ceases to impress me. 💜
I love how you layer! By the time you get done, there’s always this resounding glow to your works! I’m sure good paints play a part in it too!
that rectangle brush is so satisfying 😩

I absolutely adore Beam Paints. Best quality paints I’ve ever used, bar none.
That purple you put in the last painting is just gorgeous. These paints are beautiful.

that being said i may just use too much paint when i paint idk tbh ^^

If your project is coming out like you want it to than I doubt you're using too much paint. I think the dots are just small, tbh.
@@rachelsquill thanks, i feel like watercolour lasts for ages but gouache i'm not sure! the wooden palette design is beautiful though
I like color selection!
Works are so soft and pastel. It realy inpsired me a lot. And I miss you 🥺
Learn so much from the products on your videos and the colors they produce thanks ❤
I learn a new brand from you. Thank you for this sharing. 🙏

many of your paintings feel like memories to me especially the 3 in this video
*oh...more paints to add to the wishlist*

wonderful splash of blue in the last one 😀
love their packaging not sure if it would set off my allergies sadly
If your not a fan of the wood pallets I would say check out the paintstones, they are quite wonderful.
aaa yay an upload :D
