    I never trust any vehicle’s remaining miles to fuel up below about the 40 mile mark. Lived and learned that lesson a few times. It’s crazy how fast it’ll drop from about the 40/30 mile mark.
    Congrats on your move to the PNW. I grew up in the SFV (Van Nuys/Sherman Oaks) too and moved to Bakersfield about 17 years ago. Best move we could’ve done for our family was to move out of LA. Empty nesters now and looking to see where we will end up next.

      Very true, and I also learned this lesson long time ago too but been so used to the Prius, I didn't think much at all... good thing for the reserve 😌 and maybe you guys can move to WA too? Lol. It's a perfect state for the nature lovers.

    Just a comment. There was a study on Myth Busters (Discovery Channel). The myth busted was the idea that turning off your AC and rolling down your windows to save gas was true or not. They tested this and it was actually less efficient to drive with no AC and the windows down because it created more drag. It’s better to leave the windows up and have the AC on or better yet have the windows up and just ride in a “sauna” if you handle it for maximum efficiency. Similarly it’s the same myth where they tested trucks and how people used to roll with their tailgates down, this is also a myth because the tailgate closed created a vortex in the bed of the truck in which the air flowing over the cab of the truck hits the vortex and goes over the bed completely much like a rear spoiler. Anyway new to your channel trying to support a fellow Asian brother. Keep it up.

    • @ChasingAdventuresCO
      @ChasingAdventuresCO  Рік тому +1

      Hi Ray, my Asian brotha! Lol. It's funny that you mention that because I remember watching that episode, and I did drive a while with the ac off and Windows up, but it got too hot 🔥 🥵 so the last few miles, I was like screw it. LoL. Anyways, thanks for the reminder and looking out. I appreciate it 🙏

    Not sure if your trailer has brakes or not but the max tow weight is 1000lbs and max tongue is 100lbs without brakes which I would've verified prior to departure. Someone also mentioned the 91 on the AKI. Just a friendly reminder to always read the manual.

    Looks like you had a lot of sag. I can't tell if you lost original space with the new tires before loading up. I would like to know how much weight you had in the car and how much weight you had in thee trailer. I'm buying a new 2024 Wilderness Outback and a 1500 LB trailer with brakes. I hope my sag is not as much. If it is, I'll need air bags on the back.

    • @ChasingAdventuresCO
      @ChasingAdventuresCO  Рік тому

      I don't know the exact weight but I am guessing I was maxed out on the weight. But even with a empty trailer, it was sagging quite a bit so If you are going to to trail all the time, I would recommend getting air bags in the rear.

    • @ChasingAdventuresCO
      @ChasingAdventuresCO  2 роки тому

      Hello Mark, thank you for the comment! Unfortunately I do not know the weight of the load exactly but I am sure it was less than 3500lbs. Because the trailer is only 775lbs and I would guess my total gross weight was near 2000lbs so it was under its limit and the car had about say 600 lbs including the cargo carrier. Plus two adults and our pepper. And yeah it did lowered the rear quit a bit. But over all the car handled it great!
