    Custer was offered infantry, cannons and gatling gun prio to big horn. He refused. Also disobeyed orders and attacked a day esrlier than planed. His ego doomed his troopers.

      I think his command was more concerned with the tribes scattering than a fight. Remember, Custer wasn't aware of the battle at Rosebud.

    Custer was a loose cannon. Because he was a proven hero, historians keep finding scapegoats for his defeat. The truth is, he was supposed to block the south movement of the Indians while Terry/Gibbons moved from the North to trap the Indians. Custer's ego demanded that he defeat this huge village alone. He even sent Benteen south the the lower }portion of the valley to "obey" Terry's order.

    Custer was doomed either way by not waiting for Gibbon /Terry …..
    Terry/Gibbon didn’t arrive until the 27th 😮
