- A woman who was armed with a knife is dead after a Miami Police shooting in Edgewater late Tuesday night, officials said.
The shooting happened around 10:30 p.m. in the area of Northeast 2nd Avenue and 25th Street, the Miami Police Department said.

A mentally ill person won't listen to commands and the officers knew that, it is a very flawed system when someone is mentally ill you don't approach them like a normal person, she needed help but she never got it, very unfortunate.

Ridiculous. If someone is CHARGING YOU with a knife you cannot be certain a tazer will land. The probes have to penetrate clothing and lodge into the skin to be effective! A crazed lunatic can close the gap in seconds and with only one shot at getting it right this is not the correct response.
Tell me, why do you think that just because somebody is a police officer they shouldn't have the same right as anybody to be concerned for their lives? Lookup police officer murders just last year! 138 officers died and of those 90% were related to the dangerous nature of the job. I find it disgusting that some people put officer safety below their own just because they're officers. Does not mean their lives matter less.

Everyone has a vice/habit, big or small, that they continuously have trouble overcoming (eating, spending, smoking, laziness, talking too much, ect.) However, mental health is the point of feeling powerless in your situations. So even though mastering the mind is not achievable, you can gradually improve. She should have just taken a moment to calm down and cool off by separating herself from the situation. Just walk away.

The surviving roommate is very lucky to be alive. He questions calling the police due to the outcome, but this is not his fault. If she felt unsafe there were alternatives to threatening him with a knife. People with such severe mental health issues are simply not rational in those highly charged moments even when they appear so at other times.

There is something going on lately. People have gone really crazy in the US.
I’m sure it has to do with the financial distress that people are going through while officials keep saying the economy is great.
I became a "roommate" of a woman 20 years ago and learned a harsh lesson. If you are having sex with her; you are not a "roommate" no matter what words you both agree on. One day she came home early to find two other girls on the couch; a real "roommate" would have said "hi" and gone on about her business; she did not. Later that evening the knife literally came out and I was lucky to only have a no-contact order as a result. That guy Samuels was intimate with her....

There is no way these multiple officers would not have been able to disarm this troubled lady. It seems that they are itching to kill people and put a notch on their gun. We need to body cam footage to know exactly how this unraveled.

She paid in May when she moved in, and she paid again recently for July's rent. Please stay in school, or at least go back.

A Taser is not always effective. And depending on if the person is on drugs, it can take multiple shocks. Not something I would personally want to risk with my life…. Probably, not a good idea to charge an officer with a knife.
