Can Everyone Agree that This Movie is better than The Jacob's Ladder Remake.
Jacob's Ladder is a movie you just don't ever need to mess with. Can't beat the Tim Robbins original
*"You ma-ma-ma-ma-make me haaaaaapy!"*
I'm gonna disagree. This was the most fun I've had all year. I laughed my ass off non-stop. 11/10. I now want a remake of The Shining but with the character of Jack Torrance replaced by Moose.
I did mention that fun could be had with this movie.
@@DrumdumsOfficial Yes you did. In your review it seemed you didn't enjoy it the way I did. Which is fine.
What the fuck there's already a remake Stephen King's The Shining a-shot-for-shot remember of his book.
Worst movie of the year! Nuff said. #Poopycock
The Horror Miser Monty G Best* lol
John Travolta channeling the acting abilities of insane Nicolas Cage & Tommy Wiseau was just embarrassing, hilarious and sad.
The premise of this movie really interested me. I wanted it to be scary but most of all I wanted to like it. Everything you said was spot on.
“While you were still learning how to SPELL YOUR NAME! …. I was being trained … TO CONQUER GALAXIES!!!” -John Travolta
Which Travolta movie would you say is worse: Battlefield Earth or this movie?
Oof. Don't make me choose.
I’m not sure that I believe the whole “gushing about how good Limp Bizkit is/was was totally improv and MY idea”.
I feel like he was probably just being kind and taking the heat off of Fred Dirst for that choice because, in hindsight, they realised how goofy that came across and saw that people were rolling their eyes at it.
I think you're right Serena. The song was really out of place tbh.
I think you’re right on that lol. In the interviews I’ve seen of Devon Sawa, he seems like a really nice and down to earth dude. I’ll be honest I did listen to Limp Bizkit (when I was like 10) but I’ve never met anyone who liked them past middle school hahah.
Hahaha YES!!! I've been hoping you'd review this one and the fact it hit the infamous "Looped In Hell" is just the cherry on top! It might even be this decade's "The Room".
You made my evening Mr. Lee!
Thank you Michael!
Drum dums never hold back hahaha I love it! 😭😭🔥🔥🔥
Haha you knoe it brother!
Tom Cruise jumped on Oprah's couch, John Travolta poppycocked on screen. There's a pattern here.
I see it!
I saw 3 From Hell tonight!!
Man, I can’t wait till you review that movie. There’s quite a lot to talk about! Both good...and bad. Lol.
Seed of Chucky also received a "Looped in Hell."
Omg Seed was terrible.... Curse made up for everything.
Without having taken the time to check out this movie, I feel like if Sawa and Travolta would have switched roles it may have been done much better.
Of course that was Fred Durst's decision. You can't tell me that Fred Durst had nothing to do with the final cut of this film when he had ample opportunity to cut Limp Bizkit out of the scene or to re-shoot it, or pay homage to one of his favorite bands, or anything to help avoid being the typical pretentious narcissistic jackass he is. I don't buy it. Fred Durst is Fred Durst and this was not beneath him. Never has been and never will be. It was the defining moment I turned off the movie and decided to never give Fred Durst another chance at convincing me.
Kathy Bates deserved to win all those accolades for her performance as Annie Wilkes
This one the most Fun and Bad Guilty Pleasure movies of this year, It Hilariously Funny that I laughed throughout the movie of how bad it is, In my personal Opinion I like The Fanatic 2019 more Than Gotti 2018 that Travolta Did, with The Fanatic I know It's Bad but I got more Entertained by it more than Gotti 2018, Nice Review and Rant on The Fanatic Drumdum this is one of the Dumbest Guilty Pleasure Movies That I enjoyed this year with A Lot of Laughs!!!!
I’m in favor of doing a comedy roast of The Fanatic and Battlefield:Earth
There is a movie on Netflix called Fanatic that is hilarious and bad also.. Please do a review, two bad movies with the same name
“Sometimes it doesn’t work, and sometimes it REALLY doesn’t work.” - Drumdums
Are you sure you didn't watch Cody's review before doing this? 😂😂😂
Haha I did not.
@@DrumdumsOfficial the opening was pretty funny
Was going to see it. Have to think twice now. Uggh. Oh well. Thanks for the review. They are shooting Halloween kills now. Can't wait for some more videos on the Halloween Movie. Shape on!!🍁🍁🍁🎃🎃🎃
Hell yeah
this is what happens when an actor hits a new low and becomes a joke which is what I feel about John Travolta
This movie is so terrible it’s good. It’s beyond belief how bad it is. I feel sorry for travolta after this. What happened to him since pulp fiction is unreal
Didn't it have an opening weekend of like $3,100?
John Travolta career is going down hill like a bomb with a cowboy yehawing.
I met Devon Sawa last week at a Idle Hands screening then watched this a few days later. He was nothing like Hunter Dunbar, super nice and cool. I was digging this film for the first 30 minutes but it got kind of worse and worse and the ending would never happend.
John Carpenter and Brian De Palma were offered the chance to direct Fatal Attraction but they both backed out because they feared that the story was too similar to Play Misty for Me (1971). De Palma also felt that Michael Douglas was not a good leading man, but has since admitted he was wrong about Douglas. Carpenter also turned it down because he felt the audience would not accept the originally scripted downbeat ending where Alex commits suicide and frames Dan for it (he was proved right: the movie's finale had to be re-shot after a test audience disapproved of it).
John Boorman was also offered the director's job but turned it down to do his personal wartime childhood memoir Hope and Glory (1987).
Olivia Hussey was offered the role of Alex. When she read the screenplay and came across the rabbit in the boiling pot sequence, Hussey (who also works as an animal rights activist) was so disturbed that she quickly turned the role down.
Interesting!
Fred Durst?... as in Fred Durst of Limp bizkit? looks like his film turned out being a chocolate starfish haha
I forgot to mention that album....which I love actually.
@@DrumdumsOfficial Ah yea! I listen to that album in the gym... or "Take a Look Around" on loop haha- good for those final reps!
This can't be much worse than Battlefield Earth. I'll give it a watch sometime soon. I love a good stalker film.
Have you ever seen the movie "Paparazzi" (2003)? That is about an actor hunting down the photographers that hurt his family. It is a nice reverse take on the stalker genre, imo.
Awesome video, as always. Thank you 😎😎😎😎😎
Boyd Crowder Battlefield Earth is easily just as bad. Very true. I have not seen paparazzi. Will add to my list.
The Fanatic is a total dumpster fire. Definitely worth I view... I laughed my ass off from start to finish.
Fight Club including Terminator 2 skillfully used narration very carefully
Bill Paxtons son James Paxton is part of the cast of The Fanatic
Chris Stuckmann mentioned that John Travolta likes to go OTT one example of that is Broken Arrow from John Woo
what happend between drumdums and cody leach and the rest?? because apparently everyone left and said they mo longer will work with drumdums. no more screamstream
Albert Cook It was over a very personal issue. I was 100% in the wrong. And yes SS is over.
hey Lee! i got a question.. im starting a youtube channel (movie review etc.) ! my question is.. do you use vegas pro to edit your videos? because i do... and it takes 3 hours to render my 1 hour and 15 min long video.. i think its normal right?
I use Adobe Premiere Elements. I can render in like 20 minutes for a 20 minute video. Good luck!
lee, aside from how bad this film maybe
its a joy to see these two actors on screen together
first, about my favorite performance with devon sawa
as a little kid, he was in a family film called casper
which also stars bill pullman, christian ricci, cathy moriarty, and eric idle
what makes the film enjoyable, is its Many fun performances
and since its a family comedy that it doesn't take the scares seriously
i laughed when the uncles of casper would sneak up on the villians in the film
and it does also have some very positive morals , where bill pullman's character is teaching christina ricci's character about friendship
and it does have a happy ending
now, as for john travolta, i think the choice i am going to pick, is john woo's face off
john travolta and nicholas cage go at each other like it was a police version of a wrestling match all throughout the film
and before his events with cage, he tells his wife that he's doing these things, and she understands
and you have to wonder, this is clearly a film where You don't know who is who
as if its intention was to mindblow the viewer
like theres chases, gunfights, at one point cage as travolta gets stabbed with a bow
as soon as the Real travolta basically gets cage's character, travolta is Put back to normal, adopts a little boy, and his wife is glad that he came back home
now, the third movie i am going to mention, lee, Is Independence day with Bill pullman
and the reason i am going to reference this movie, is because Bill pullman makes a terrific speech in this movie
anyways bill pullman plays Thomas whitmore, pullman gives a great performance as president whitmore
what adds to the cheesyness of that movie, is the Numberous action comedy moments when the soldiers in the film are fighting the aliens, and that will smith says "welcome to earth"
and that bill pullman makes this terrific ,long president speech with the line "today, we celebrate our independence day"
that is a fun movie
the fourth movie of course Goes back to Travolta, and the film in question is a Military drama called the generals daughter
which that is a fun movie to watch
travolta in that film, plays a more calmer reliable detective, than how he acted in face off fighting nic cage
and he's investigating the murder of a daughter of a base commander and figures out how many cover ups that there are
the film is terrific
so in total, all of the actors mentioned: devon sawa, john travolta, and even bill pullman
all have fun terrific roles in movies that came before currently
That speech from ID is one of the best ever. And ID is much better than The Fanatic haha. But good points.
Aaron Johnson It is cool to see these actors together. I’m always excited to see Devon Sawa. As a kid I loved Casper and he was also in Now and Then which I thought was a big movie back then. But then I kind of forgot about him and have seen him popping up recently. If he was in other stuff all the years before I just didn’t know.
Bill Pullman is a fantastic actor. Have you seen The Sinner? It’s basically an anthology series, it’s the same world but two different storylines, and Pullman is in both seasons so far, playing the same character. He makes the show, he is just sooooo good in my opinion. The second season also has the main woman from Mindhunter, I’ve been seeing her everywhere the last few years, and I think she is just phenomenal as well (although I’m awful w/ names and don’t remember hers!).
I enjoyed reading your comment!
And I didn’t even know Pullman was in Casper, I need to look up a scene now!
Anyone remember the movie The Fan with wesley snipes and deniro I loved it as a kid with that Nin soundtrack
Jason Hobbs Yep. Much better.
Dude, RedLetterMedia put your thumbnail for this review in their review of the Fanatic! THAT IS TOO COOL!
OMG this movie was CRAZY !!!! I actually enjoyed John travolta’s performance for the most part but this movie is more WTF than actually pretty bad. There are some really tense moments lol. I enjoyed this movie surprisingly!!!!! This movie is so WTF it’s good. I just think the movie becomes a bit repetitive. 7,5/10.
one other thing Clint Eastwood’s Play Misty for Me is another great example of an obsession movie that deals with stalker themes even Fatal Attraction
I've always wanted to check that one out.
@@DrumdumsOfficial go for it
Hey, Can you review Here Comes The Night, A Friday the 13th fan film? It's only about 20 minutes. It's like Grindhouse meets Friday. Thought it was really good.
I honestly don't do fan films that often. I really don't have the time to hit them all. I do it every now and again though.
Well atleast watch it. I think you'd like it. It's only 18 minutes.
the DP on The Fanatic Conrad W.Hall is the son of legendary Oscar winning DP Conrad L.Hall IMDb confirmed it
Fans are terrifying I dressed up as Lara Croft for comic con (it’s my profile pic) and one guy followed me around convention all day after I’d been happy to pose for a picture with him, thankfully my guy is 6ft1 and looks way more intimidating than he really is because I got afraid to go to the ladies room alone in case I was followed. I posed for pics with kids and other Lara Croft cosplayers and he was lurking around all the time- really creepy. New found respect for all of the people who deal with this crap on a day to day basis in their real lives.
Devon Sawa and JT deserved better! Fred can even direct a good Movie "The Education of Charlie Banks" was really good with Jesse Eisenberg and Jason Ritter.
John Travolta destroyed his whole career by making Battlefield:Earth after Quentin Tarantino resuscitated his career
Harrison Ford hated the narration but Ridley Scott wasn’t against it as he wanted something that’s somewhere along the lines of classic film noir
Are you talking about Blade Runner? This is for The Fanatic.
He went full regard ,but i loved the movie. Unintentionally funny.
At one hand I'm crying for john travolta's career .. at the other hand I'm laughing my ass off when watching the fanatic ... this movie legitimately made me go emotionally unstable.. this movie is myth that we didn't belive it would surpass tommy wiseau's "The Room"
I was a bit surprised to see that Devon Sawa was back doing movies. I just noticed that “The Fanatic” was his second time co-starring with John Travolta. His first was in a movie called “Life on the Line”- 2015’. I knew he was on True detective from IMDb. He looks quite different now, but he still sounds like Devon Sawa on the money. He was a major Heartthrob back in the mid to late 90’s. He was right up there with Andrew Keigan, Johnathan Taylor Thomas, Johnathan Jackson, the Hanson Bros., and of course Leonardo DiCaprio back when they were bedroom posters. Of course I didn’t totally like them back then because they were hogging all the action! Lol.
Yeah I know he was doing TV here and there. Nice to see him back.
I Am Sam--went home empty handed LOL
when actors take it way too far and go OTT then that’s when you can’t take them seriously
even Gary Oldman understands the importance of restraint unlike Daniel Day Lewis who goes way too OTT
"I f...…….cking hate Pikeys."
I was waiting for this review!! Great job lee
Thank you!
Chris Stuckmann might end up having new friends out of this one including James Rolfe from Cinemassacre and Sean the guy from The Multimedia Chronicles
😂😂 the beginning
Christina Fultz 😂😂😂
I would lose my shite if I were in the presence of Arnold Schwarzenegger
Great review, brother! Despite the things I hear about this film, the more I wanna see it. I feel like I'd get a kick out of this, just for the laughs lol.
That's how it was for me. I HAD to see this movie haha.
You are correct, John has done great movies, Carrie and Grease comes to mind, but he's also done some stinkers too, Battlefield Earth for example. Guess this leans more to his Battlefield Earth side.
I hope he does an another FaceOff
John Carpenter knows how to work with actors
I understand actors doing weird roles. But this seemed like an alter ego for Travolta. He's always over the top like a spoiled brat, that noone can control.
Thank you! I could tell this movie was a bust just by the trailer! Tried too hard. Much love on this channel!
Thank you Jason!
I actually enjoyed this movie, only real downside was moose's hair looking ridiculous and John Travolta looking old
I think his hair actually fit the character though.
@@DrumdumsOfficial it definitely did but idk it was hard to see it for so much air time haha.
It's would've been awesome if y'all three you, Cody and Chris would do a hilariocity review for The Fanatic that would've been awesome just a late idea.
That's probably not going to happen Abram.
@@DrumdumsOfficial yeah
Surprisingly not my worst of the year. There are quite a few worse!!
For me Hellboy easily takes that.
Drumdums to be fair, I avoided Hellboy.
Poppycock is probably the best phrase to describe this film, the only scene made me laugh was Moose dressed up as Jason Voorhees (is this a tease John Travolta going be new Jason?).
WTF was Travolta thinking, his attempts at doing a British accent wyen dressed as a Policeman leaves lot be desired, the shit his character does in this film he'd been locked up, breaking into a movies star's house taking selfies besides accidentally killing the women in the park.
My God this was awful, absolutely awful & yet I couldn't stop laughing at how bad it is, it makes Samuari Cop look like The Godfather.
And the ending WTF? talk about nonsensical bafflegab, I swear it was made up on the day of shooting.
Devon played the villain in Stallones recent average Escape Plan 3.
Loved this review Lee this one has to be seen to be believed.
#Poppycock
One thing I can say is that he went for it haha.
@@DrumdumsOfficial He certainly gave a memorable performance lol.
I got my Rambo Last Blood tickets for Friday I can't wait, do you think Sly deliver the goods? Like you Sly my favourite action hero & I've always loved his action movies but he has made couple duffers lately with Escape Plan 2 & 3, I hope Rambo return to form, he wrote & produced it which bodes well for film......fingers crossed.
Fred Durst could’ve at least learned from master filmmakers on how to make a great horror movie all it takes is learning from filmmaking legends such as Alfred Hitchcock Howard Hawks or Sergio Leone
That intro was great hahah
Ill be back I gotta take a poop is the best movie quote of 2019.
I love so bad they are good movies 😂. Like The Room 😂
this movie was a fucking nightmare literally.
Haha indeed.
Don't know this movie, nor am I interested in it now lol. Lee enjoyed your review :)
Lee I didn't went to see it like I really don't give a shit about going to the movie to see The Fanatic.
I actually didn’t think this movie was that bad. Maybe because I knew someone exactly like Moose that would show up at every metal show in Pittsburgh back in the late 90s. I honestly feel Travolta pulled off the character well. I do agree that the ending was bs. Even if that event did happen that way the truth would have been figured out the next day.
Just saw a preview for Tigers are not Afraid on Shudder, it looks amazing and has a 97% on Rotten Tomatoes which is absurd. I usually don’t care about their ratings, but I’m trying to find my sons first horror movie with him and he likes looking there. Anyways, thought of you and hope you check it out! I’m going to once I figure out how Shudder works 🤪
I know people are very politically correct these days, and it gets obnoxious. There is some I understand and a lot I wish people would just stop getting upset over because it makes the important issues seem less important. With that said, I’m sorry I had to thumbs down your video. I’ve never done that. I’ve heard you tubers say that the like/dislike button can be pointless in a sense because it doesn’t tell them why. So, that’s why I’m commenting on why. It’s because of the very first clip in your video, I know it’s from a movie, I know it’s a common thing that people say. But I have a child with special needs and I know the history of that word, the harm, the microaggressions put on people with that diagnosis, and the very fact that the diagnosis had to be changed because society turned it into an insult. I see people on social media use my sons diagnosis as an insult all the time, it’s one of many parts of society that I can’t protect him forever from. But there have been so many positive things about his diagnosis, and it’s a huge part of his identity, and I couldn’t imagine if someday that diagnosis was changed because again society overused it to the point it was harming those people and it had to be changed. I love your channel, you seem like a great guy, I don’t believe you meant anything by it. If a channel uses that word often, some channels even have merch that say it, I won’t watch. I’ll even report the videos, even though I know it does nothing at least I used my voice somehow. But I’m not reporting your video, you didn’t say it, you played a famous clip. It just makes me cringe, I don’t like it, and I wish it was less commonplace in society to tear down people w/ special needs, and instead see them for who they are, their strengths, and embrace them. And I don’t think you are tearing down people w/ special needs. Different decades where society tolerated things differently and how we deal w/ that today is a whole other topic I won’t go into. I can separate the art. I’m not crazy about Scientology, but some of my favorite actresses are part of that group, and I can put it to the side. Because this is so personal I can’t, and I wish no one could, but we all have our issues and our topics that get to us and I can’t make the whole world feel the way I do about this one. But I can express myself in a dislike and explain it. 😊
So I’m just telling you why, but now I’m off to watch another of your videos, cause Haunt came up when I was looking at scary movies with my son and I’m interested in how it was. As far as him and scary movies though, I don’t want to push him, and I obviously don’t want to harm him or give him nightmares, but I wish he had as much of an interest in scary movies like I did at his age. It’s so fun to be a kid and love those movies, before reality sets in! He shows some interest, he watches your videos and Cody Leaches, yours are the two channels I’ve told him it’s okay to watch, but he likes when you guys do countdowns, he doesn’t watch your reviews. We’ll probably start light though, Monster Squad and The Frighteners are good ones I know he can handle. If you know of any good kid scary movies please share! It could even be a good video idea, I’ve also been talking to some random person on FB about her trying to find suitable scary books for her kid. I think it’s something horror fans care about. I’m REALLY hoping his first true horror movie will be Halloween, but again he’ll show interest and then he’ll be like “never mind!” He’s only 10, but at his age I had seen so much and I was reading RL Stines Fear Street books (which by the way they’re making a movie of, and Christopher Pike, another scary author I loved as a kid just announced he’s involved in a movie!), and my son is just so smart, so self aware, so mature about stuff, it’s hard to look at him as being 10 sometimes. It’s a bummer when we want to share things with our kids and they’re just not into it. He also LOVES rap, but won’t listen to Tupac or NWA or any of the rap I used to like! 😢 lol
Anyways, if you got this far in this novel, thanks for reading! I love going to your channel when I need a horror fix and that’s not changing! I just disagree w/ a choice you made and that’s ok! 😊 Have a nice day!
I've been meaning to watch that one actually. THanks for the reminder Melissa!
Loved the carpenter section and that can be such a fine line for performers that it can completely ruin the whole movie
True. Very true.
Fred Durst directed a non horror film called The Longshots & I thought he did a really good job with it so I’m surprised you didn’t like the way he directed this film
BUT you’re reviews are pretty spot on with my taste so I may have to pass on this movie
I had the time of my life watching this movie!
Play Misty for Me
Fatal Attraction
Misery
One Hour Photo(starring Robin Williams)
Gone Girl
those are really great movies with the obsession premise
I'm going to avoid that movie like the plague..can you review the Banana Splits Movie? I just saw it ..I was okay with it.. wanna see your opinion
John Travolta hasn't done anything worth seeing, in my opinion, since Pulp Fiction and he did nothing worth seeing before that, either. Fred Durst's cinamatic peak was directing himself in a porno filmed on a Nokia phone, and he still couldn't get the dialogue right.
On second thought, I will give Travolta partial credit for "Get Shorty" and "Be Cool" because I think they are at least worth seeing, despite him and not because of him.
Man I love seeing your background setup evolve, more interesting than this movie!
Everybody seems to be having a field day with this shit.😂
Haha definitely.
FANATIC...It’s entertainment in all the wrong ways.. But, to tell you the honest truth, I much rather see the FANATIC again than IT chapter 2.
I’ve gotta give John travolta credit for his acting he can make an AWFUL. Movie hilariously entertaining
Seems like it would be entertaining in a it's so bad it's good kind of way.
Best movie I've seen since Halloween Resurrection! 2 big toes up! :-)
Boom!
What the hell Durst?? Lol....i remember seeing Fred Durst on the stage at Ozzfest 98 walking up out of a giant toilet on stage....little did i know this was forshadowing in his 2019 movie......haha...oh god we need some horror done right lol
I saw them in 98 as well in Dallas TX
Well Lee if you look at it as a comedy than it’s a great movie, John Travolta was hilarious in this movie.
Haha very true!
Yes that movie haunt was very good I enjoyed the ending that's how I lot of movie should end I enjoyed it thanks for talkin about it
Haunt was excellent!
Moose is a nutcase.
Just when you thought it couldn’t get any worse then Hellboy...
Haha it almost beat it.
Let's face given the director this was never going to be a masterpiece
But as far as John Travolta goes he was probably given a little too much leeway some actors can Excel with free rain John Travolta is not one of them he's a good actor but is best kept on a short leash
The movie, I didn’t enjoy, but I lay that at the feet of the Director. John Travolta, who I am going to give a wide berth, because I think he was drawing on his experience of raising his son Jett Travolta who had autism as well as other disorders. But I truly felt that his portrayal of not knowing what was appropriate or the social cues was maybe a little but put on but not at all out of character, yes the situations show the character in more and more situations where he is frustrated and these are possible reactions from this character. I don’t blame the performance, but the writing. I have family that are on the scale and one with asperges’s says inappropriate stuff all the time, “I can’t talk long, I gotta poo.” Is something I have heard because those afflicted miss social cues and don’t often get the appropriateness of a comment. I have a friend whose step son was more severely on the scale and when denied his gameboy, which he loved he reacted by kicking the back windows out of a VOLO. What I am trying to say is the script was weak in conveying what being on that spectrum could be like and didn’t not do John Travolta any favors, but I think Travolta was basing his portrayal on something very personal and known to him. I would have loved to have seen this with a stronger script and a better director, maybe one that could have offered as you said of Carpenter, “can you do that less?” Just my humble opinion!
Lee, as always, thank you. I trust your reviews because you are so sound in your criticism. Thank you.
It is weird because you can see Travolta giving it his all, and the emotion of his son might have got in the way of a performance that was more in tune with the tone of the movie.
Absolutely and a good director would probably have been able to curb that, like you said.
Was John Travolta trying to out Cage Nicolas Cage? He should of know better. I think Cage would have done a better job in this movie. JMO
Noone out Cages Cage.
@@DrumdumsOfficial Man ain't it the truth LOL!
I dunno. I love Snatch but I think Alan Ford as Brick Top stole the film for me.
I enjoyed the hell out of this movie lol
Haha god it's aweful!
When are you going to review hollow man and they live
I have heard nothing nice about this movie. In the hands of the right cast and crew, it's a concept that could work with psychological understanding. As it is, I'm supposing it makes The Room look like a good film (like, actually good).
Not Fred Durst's decision? Um, he was the director... I'm.not for one second going to be expected to believe that Durst had no final say in that... Even if the actor made it up. He's the director.... He has that power. Plus, nothing in this movie would indicate that Fred Durst wouldn't do something like that... i mean please lol. This movie is a true classic
