timmer919hep IMO Pain Train is just such a great game that you'd be lost without playing it first. Also, Pain Train 2 has a lot of references to Pain Train 1, so it's better to experience the first one first. You can watch the Empire Strikes Back before a New Hope, but you probably shouldnt.
It's more of a legacy thing. While Pain Train 1 and 2 are self contained games, playing the first would give you the profound critical thinking needed to understand, and therefore, feel the sheer quality and artistic value of the sequel.
fcukugimmeausername pain train 7 is beater it takes the franchise closer to it's routes pain train 5-6 were just streamlined linear version of pain train 4
Pro's: Pain (red stuff on screen when you get hit) No stamina meter No crappy flashlight No weapon fragility Con's No trains Apart from lacking 50% of the features the game title led me to believe would be here, this looks like a sure-fire hit.
Developers be damned! They powered through the minutes to bring us the game ahead of time! This is the sequel you have been waiting a whole 2 weeks to get your sausage drenched fingers on and here it is!
According to youtube I watched you play the original pain train but I have absolutely no memory of that event occurring... so clearly it's deserving of a sequel!
I was going to say no at first but now I'm not so sure... those floor panels look really similar and the environments so dark it's hard to tell for sure.
Me too. This time though, I hope they make Voldemort's Stand included in the game, and not DLC like in Pain Train Ultimate 2.14 Hyper Deluxe HD: The World Edition.
Everything British people say sounds so intelligent and delightful.Jim could make a whole video talking about curb stomping kittens and most people would simply think "What a charming man".
The environment is from the Unity asset store. It is the Sci-fi Heavy Station Kit hangars. It's a pretty good looking set, though the lighting in this game does not help it. It currently costs $14.50. www.assetstore.unity3d.com/en/#!/content/56427
Jim, I 100% respect your review for Breath of the Wild. You are allowed to have your own opinion, and the fact that you are brutally honest is why I love you. Keep doing your thing and don't let the zelda fanboys get you down, 'cause remember You're Jim Fucking Sterling, son!
Okay, let me get this straight. You're in the far future and the weapon you have is a semi-automatic pistol? They're 100 years old now. Why not an electromagnetic repulsion flake gun or even a simple laser gun?
To really understand paintrain 2 you have to look up a plot synopsis for the 10000 years of backstory between paintrain 2 and the little known ps2 game dracontrain
The kid who made Pain Train saw your review and thought "Gee, it is waaay too easy to beat this game by just rushing the spawners. We should totally make the player shoot at something else first to give the zombies time to completely overrun the player!"
2:10 Thats funny I was thinking the exact same thing just before he mentioned it. Also I just recently happened to play a lot of Painkiller, Serious Sam 3, etc. and this is indeed a ludicrous amount of enemies.
can you get one of the people who makes games like this and interview them please??? and record it/film it then upload it here on youtube ...please!! PLEASE!! they need to be spoken to rationally and helped...i think you're the man for it Jim!
Perhaps the most baffling thing to me about this is that they actually made this a sequel instead of just calling it something completely different, as if to capitalize on the first game's name recognition. Because that's a thing it totally has.
This game looks like the made up shit game that would be on-screen in an episode of Law & Order: SVU about a rapist that preys on people he meets online in MURDER KILL AUTO
I've just had this idea. I'm thinking about toerrenting all of the popular prebuild asset packs, doing nothing to them, and then releasing it eleven times under different names as a minigame pack. What do you guys think? Yes / Definitely
One thing I love in games is where I can dodge. The game doesn't necessarily need an explicit dodging mechanic. For example, in Skyrim, I tend to move around a lot to dodge enemy attacks. For me, that makes the combat more exciting. However, this game doesn;t have that. Which would be a total letdown in my book, even though I'm not a combat orientated person.
The robot at 2:10 looks like the aliens from the 5-th element movie... PS: Ahahahahaha, paused the video to make the remark, that Jime made 2 seconds later... Ahahahahahahahaha...
What surprised me is that Jim's computer isn't lagging from the amount of enemies in the map, most of these games will probably cause his pc to crash (due to shitty coding)
it's hilarious how; not only did they reuse the same zombies, but the zombies they bought looked more aesthetically correct in the last game. oh, and not to mention they didn't even finish the animations.
Why is there no train? That was the whole point of it being called Pain Train! Without the train this becomes Pain 2, and this is not the sequel to the Playstation 3 game Pain I would want.
If you straight up crunched the numbers, comparing the rate at which you can kill zombies, which would be hard-capped based on firing rate, I suspect it would be lower than the rate at which the game is spawning new zombies.
So, if I got it right...How to design the first level of a shooter: Crowd it with as many enemies as freaking possible. Ugh... Also, the regular zombies look like they're waving you hello :D
Question: Do you need to play Pain Train 1 to understand the plot of Pain Train 2?
what is this thing you call plot? question from the developer of Pain Train
toomanyaccounts More like "What's this thing you call development?"
timmer919hep IMO Pain Train is just such a great game that you'd be lost without playing it first. Also, Pain Train 2 has a lot of references to Pain Train 1, so it's better to experience the first one first. You can watch the Empire Strikes Back before a New Hope, but you probably shouldnt.

but not empty of meaning?
I'm holding out for Pain Train 6.
fcukugimmeausername pain train 7 is beater it takes the franchise closer to it's routes pain train 5-6 were just streamlined linear version of pain train 4
Pain Train 6 is the one where Vin Diesel jumps off a cliff in a tank, right?
Do not get Kyle, the Average UA-cam Commenter involved.
whoisbatman Yeah, and Pain train 7 is the one with Din Viesel and Wall Pawker.
Hugo Stiglitz Mm don't forget big boss shows up as a cameo and explains the complete story of metal gear in under 5 mins!
Pro's:
Pain (red stuff on screen when you get hit)
No stamina meter

No weapon fragility
Con's
No trains

According to youtube I watched you play the original pain train but I have absolutely no memory of that event occurring... so clearly it's deserving of a sequel!
so I guess we will be seeing Pain Train 3 next week then?
Masta200 game of the year pain train comes with all 52 games haha
Pain Train 9 ¾. Clipping through walls and shit.
The only way this game will provide a magical experience is by pairing it with heavy LSD use.
Pain Train 33 1/3: Electric Boogaloo
Aren't these the same environments Digital Homicide used in Galactic Hitman?
My first thought.
It could be by the same company. They made a lot of sci-fi environments.
That must be it, right? Galactic Hitman was also very fond of shiny metal walls.
That's not an uncommon thing for sci-fi packs in Unity.
I was going to say no at first but now I'm not so sure... those floor panels look really similar and the environments so dark it's hard to tell for sure.
Can't wait for Pain Train Ultimate: 3.14 Super HD Remix Star Platinum Edition
It's already out in Japan.
I hope it includes 'Za Warudo' DLC.
No, that's the Karaoke Spinoff Pain Train: Sing Along
JarlDraggmond You mean Kingdom Hearts?
Me too.
This time though, I hope they make Voldemort's Stand included in the game, and not DLC like in Pain Train Ultimate 2.14 Hyper Deluxe HD: The World Edition.
Gameplay brings the player pain, not enough trains. 9/10 IGN.
BombsOverBagram IGN reviews haha it's funny coz it's true this would get a 9/10
Everything British people say sounds so intelligent and delightful.Jim could make a whole video talking about curb stomping kittens and most people would simply think "What a charming man".
Wow Jim didn't realize this was a speed run, leave some talent for the rest of us.
Thanks, Jim. These videos shorter than 10 minutes are really nice.
The environment is from the Unity asset store. It is the Sci-fi Heavy Station Kit hangars. It's a pretty good looking set, though the lighting in this game does not help it. It currently costs $14.50.

Me: "Hey those look like the guys from The 5th Element"
2 seconds later
Jim: "Those look like the clunky dude from The 5th Element."
Ha!
Hearing Jim say "Thank God for that" instead of "Thank God for me" made my hair stand on end for some reason
Jim Sterling with the topical, cutting edge, bleeding news reference at the beginning.
Jim, I 100% respect your review for Breath of the Wild. You are allowed to have your own opinion, and the fact that you are brutally honest is why I love you. Keep doing your thing and don't let the zelda fanboys get you down, 'cause remember You're Jim Fucking Sterling, son!
George Lucas called. He wants general grievous back....
I love that I am a long term viewer :) I watched you back in the day on the escapist.
Why does the environment look like that "bonus level" from air control? Because that's what it kinda looks like
Probably the same stock map or at least the same stock terrain textures.
its a shovelware game aimed towards selling trading cards. I still don't understand why people buy games just for steam cards.....
Because other people will buy those trading cards, sometimes for good amounts of money if it's a rare card.
it's probably the same map, a stock Unity environment more than likely, I've seen it a couple of times as well.
Can't wait for Pain Train 4 where they go for an Over-The-Shoulder third person perspective
You know you've got a great game on your hands when that Beretta viewmodel pops up.
Lmfao that Fifth Element ending killed me.
Jim sterling is the best game reviewer of all time
That respawn is insane. Its like being shot by a Kha*Ak swarm from X-3.
I have been waiting days for the sequel to Pain Train, ever since I played it back in 2017 for the first time.
Thanks for reminding me to do my taxes, Jim. I'll do them once I am done watching this video.
This Jimpression took Pain Train 2 from a 1% on Metacritic to a 0%
Okay, let me get this straight. You're in the far future and the weapon you have is a semi-automatic pistol? They're 100 years old now. Why not an electromagnetic repulsion flake gun or even a simple laser gun?
There's a reason for that lore-wise but it's a spoiler from the secret unlockable post-credits scene in the first game so I won't type it out here.
I kind of loved it when the ancient ones came up. 5th element is one of my favorite movies ever
To really understand paintrain 2 you have to look up a plot synopsis for the 10000 years of backstory between paintrain 2 and the little known ps2 game dracontrain
Don't yell at the voice over Jim! You'll hurt it's feelings!
I'm glad I'm not the only one who was reminded of those dudes from The Fifth Element.
The titular "Pain train" must be the conga lines of zombies running towards you...
idk why but jim calling me a sneaky tax return made me laugh
The kid who made Pain Train saw your review and thought "Gee, it is waaay too easy to beat this game by just rushing the spawners. We should totally make the player shoot at something else first to give the zombies time to completely overrun the player!"
"there from the original pain train... Do you remember that classic?" did make me laugh loud :-)
As soon as you got in-game and I saw that weapon I immediately asked myself "Is that Devils Share?" >_>
Jim! This scifi map, you've seen it in Galactic Hitman!
I think the dev never went to a train station... I haven't either but my brain knows how things works!
Dude, really enjoy the content
I want to believe there's good games out there, I really do.
There's already a sequel?!
At this rate, we'll have Pain Train 20 by 2020.
How to make Pain Train 3
*>Download a pre-made map*
*>Download a generic monster pack*
*>???*
*>PROFIT!*
2:10 Thats funny I was thinking the exact same thing just before he mentioned it.
Also I just recently happened to play a lot of Painkiller, Serious Sam 3, etc. and this is indeed a ludicrous amount of enemies.
Time is irrelevant, only life matters.
Angry Applesauce But what is my life right now?
Thank God for Jim
Congratulations, you won!
a certain review you say...
what, the legend of soup: beans of the wilderness
How dare you give this game anything less than 10/10, here come the death threats, the Ddos attacks... etc etc.
More like pain in the arse... Time to go to work :P
Peter Nelipa that's at least a good pain this just pain with no satisfaction
Only thing darker than this game is its very future
There just aren't any brakes on this particular train.
Was the first one the game with like 500 achievements? all this zombie asset flips are so similar I don't remember which one is which.
yes
I love your intros Jim.
You are going to have to get much better if you want to get into the Pain Train Tournament Scene
can you get one of the people who makes games like this and interview them please??? and record it/film it then upload it here on youtube ...please!! PLEASE!! they need to be spoken to rationally and helped...i think you're the man for it Jim!
Seeing all them achievements pop up makes me suspect it is the first game with a few more assets bought to play with..
Perhaps the most baffling thing to me about this is that they actually made this a sequel instead of just calling it something completely different, as if to capitalize on the first game's name recognition. Because that's a thing it totally has.
the wall pannels were used by digital homiside. that might be why its familiar
Yeesh, those zombies keep waving their arms in the air... Almost as if they just don't care...
This game looks like the made up shit game that would be on-screen in an episode of Law & Order: SVU about a rapist that preys on people he meets online in MURDER KILL AUTO
They leveled up!
valonquar1 the most accurate comment I've ever fucking read
I was thinking the same thing about the clunky aliens. Now I need to watch fifth element again.
devs be like: "I like trains..."
I've just had this idea. I'm thinking about toerrenting all of the popular prebuild asset packs, doing nothing to them, and then releasing it eleven times under different names as a minigame pack. What do you guys think?
Yes / Definitely

Looking Forward to Pain Train XXL
Building a franchise faster than Scott Cawthon.
Is it difficult to remove t-pose death animations or something?
who needs Doom when you have Pain Train 2?
Not enough wifus, 69/9000
The robot at 2:10 looks like the aliens from the 5-th element movie...
PS: Ahahahahaha, paused the video to make the remark, that Jime made 2 seconds later...
Ahahahahahahahaha...
I guess Jim is in "train"ing. I'm gonna drink bleach now
The aliens from 5th Element were called Mondoshawans. I'm fun at parties.
Can't wait next week for part 3!
If Digital Homicide had made this, they'd be copyright striking the video and emailing Jim, telling him that he "just doesn't know how to play."
It's not a train anymore... This is such a betrayal of the the original vision. For shame...
I want, I demand a full review. At least 9/10 worthy.
NEW JIMPRESSIONS YES!
Ahh, The Dark Souls of audio books
The sequel to Killing Floor 2 :3
5TH Element dudes .
Wait, is this the sequence to the game where you fight the zombies in the train station from The Darkness 2 ? Who asked for a sequence to that ?
When do the pre-orders for the impending remastered HD trilogy go up?
Best part of Pain Train 2 is the train..
What surprised me is that Jim's computer isn't lagging from the amount of enemies in the map, most of these games will probably cause his pc to crash (due to shitty coding)
Map looks like that game by Digital Suicide, Galactic Hitman aka "Galactic Shitman"
it's hilarious how; not only did they reuse the same zombies, but the zombies they bought looked more aesthetically correct in the last game.
oh, and not to mention they didn't even finish the animations.
...or the game.
Why is there no train? That was the whole point of it being called Pain Train! Without the train this becomes Pain 2, and this is not the sequel to the Playstation 3 game Pain I would want.
The Slaughtering Train. The map looks like it's from Galactic Hitman or something.
That blood spatter looks familiar
By the time Pain Train 3564 comes, it may actually even be a good game :D
That'd ridiculous they couldn't even have their own level complete music either.
This "game" by the by, contains a staggering 720 achievements on steam.
It really is a sequel! Considering that the first Pain Train has 590 achievements! Amazing. 7/10.
If Rachel Madow was a game she would have been an asset flip.
Pain Train 3 confirmed!
It looks like they actually made improvements.
