For anything else you can say about how Blizzard is handling Hearthstone, whoever is in charge of art, flavor, and flavor text has been knocking it out of the park for a long time.
@@vitoyin5544 Ah, I see. Sorry. Yes, "knocking it out of the park" is a saying in America. It's a reference to a home run in baseball where a batter hits the ball so that it ends up out of the field and so the opposing team can't recover it to tag him out.
Eh, I disagree. The themes and flavour of this expansion are contrivance upon contrivance. What does a "Lead Dancer" have to do with being a Paladin? What does "Air Guitarist" have to do with Warcraft lore and why does it increase your weapon durability? Why does each class have a unique genre of music?
All of these divine shields in Paladin makes me wonder if Blood Knight will be in the new core set. I'm not sure how good that would be, but it was the first epic I ever opened, so it holds a special place in my heart.
Same, and I hate that during sunken city it wasn't in the core set, it was the perfect card during that time, so sad that when the time finally came to him, they removed him from the core set... so stupid.
Before this expansion was getting revealed I was already theorizing that the ungoro quests would come back to the core set because of taunt warrior, discard warlock and chaos mage support without proper payoffs. Now I see there is big druid support as well!!!! I'm so hyped for the core set reveal.
If they did do that, not many of those quests would be worth running. A lot of them would need buffs, and even then stuff like the hunter and paladin un’goro quests just fundamentally aren’t good
@@Eighty_Ninety hunter quest wasn’t FUNDEMENTALLY bad. It just had too strict of a quest demand. If it took few enough you could drop momma turn 5 consistently it’d be pretty ok. Paladin quest at least had a cool theme song written for it
Timber Tambourine is exemplifies why I think hearthstone has flaws in its design that shouldn't exist in its digital only format. E.g. "do x to improve" ... improve what...which part of the effect does it get improved? "Colossal +x" which is "summon x appendages": what is an appendage? Stats, effects, mana cost. Do I take it all minions with "colossal x" enter play with the same appendages? Whilst other games either make it clear what each card/effect does or at least tries to provide a preview of the other collectible/non-collectible cards attached to that effect while in the card collection or in a duel, in hearthstone you either have to first Get/Craft the card -> Play the card to know what it actually does, or watch a 3rd party video showcasing that. To be fair, it is not a whole lot of cards that do this, mostly the Colossal minions were the greatest offenders (Cards I know not the true extend of their effect until getting them and using them, at legendary rarity)
traditionally "to improve", or any other modification to the numbers of the card will target whatever the numerical symbol is, and not any typed out words. so spell damage +2 on a card that "deals 2 damage and draws two cards" will amplify the first part and not the second.
If I remember correctly in the case of Colossal you can see the appandages if you hover your mouse over the card. I think it is fine for legendaries to have unique effects that are too complicated to be described entirely in the card (example : Zephrys, what the hell is "The Perfect Card" ?). But yeah Tambourine is a bit confusing, they should put in Bold font the stuff that gets upgraded
@@venobomb Sure, but this one says "Summon 1 5/5 Ancient". How are you supposed to know which number increases ? Sure, with experience and game knowledge, it seems obvious that it's the 1, but I'm 100% sure that some people will misunderstand it the first time.
some thoughts: cubelock had a wincon, I think this cube paladin is not going to be good rn but may be better with future expansions when it gets a better wincon. Overheal priest is a total meme, just playing vanilla minions with tiny upside. The druid big weapon payoff seems really good, like a spellstone from back in the day. A single card that floods your board with 5/5s and demands hard removal for such a tiny investment of a single weapon is amazing. If big druid works, this weapon will be insane.
I haven't played in a couple years, doesn't the new Druid weapon break Twig of The World Tree in wild? Or has Druid gained faster way to ramp so it doesn't matter
Sphere of Sapience (Neutral 1 mana 0/4 weapon) came out in 2020, so don’t worry that has broken for a few years 😊 But yes it’s not as impactful as other combos in wild, still not bad though.
I wonder if we'll get weapon silence. But all neutral cards have been revealed, right? Maybe in the mini set. Something about the instruments malfunctioning or being sabotaged by Rafaam.
The weapons might seem OP but you're losing so much tempo playing some of these. All fun n nice that you can possibly summon 7 5/5's but ur paying 4 mana fro a 2/3 weapon that doesnt get value untill u play 2 big spells.
I don't think they will never ever print weapon silence but it's one of those ultraspecific things that's hard to justify printing, it also completely nullifies the entire Kingsbane archetype with no way to play around it and it's something that Blizzard tends to avoid doing
I really love the paladin package although lead dancer might end up being the worst card of the set because if you want to run that and pull something consistently then you need to remove all of these cards from paladin decks: knight of anointment, righteous protector, sinful sous chef, battle vicar, liadrin, class action lawyer, alliance bannerman, bronze explorer, muckborn servant, stone hearth vindicator, and seafloor savior. Each of these cards are incredibly strong and most of them are run together and interchanged amongst themselves in a large majority of paladin decks and even though im sure some of them are rotating (i dont wanna look up which ones are), I cant imagine that every single one of them will rotate.
I have more and more the feeling that Jessica Trueheart comes back into standard. Priest with the better heropower and the new weapon would be pretty strong with overheal. And I hope circle of healing also comes back.
6 mana 4/2, deathrattle, summon a 3/3 with lifesteal, DEATHRATTLE, SUMMON A 3/6 WITH LIFESTEAL AND TAUNT AND DIVINE SHIELD, **DEATHRATTLE, SUMMON 3 1/2’S WITH TAUNT AND DIVINE SHIELD**. For 6 mana you can get 13/17 in stats, 6 of that attack with lifesteal, and 4 separate divine shields. Can’t wait to play against this
