    Great to see other World Languages instructors ungrading. We've got a nice community trying it @ElonUniversity as well. We should collaborate!

    A few comments and questions if you're still there: This really seems contextual, that is, if the school/system isn't "on board" with this, as you say, everything still results in giving a "grade" in the end. Also, how are you evaluated by your respective schools? I would infer that you are, and that the evaluation leads to some level of a pay increase. How does that work for each of you? Lastly, giving feedback effectively, is, in and of itself, a challenging skill. It requires non-defensiveness, specificity, timeliness and the ability to process students feelings and emotions and their defensiveness. That is a whole other topic not mentioned here.
