Rhonda- amazing tips - just as I'm preparing to do my on-site kitchen pour- all the prep info in one video- who would have thought to remove the drawers ?? Wish me luck !
Great tips and advice!! 👏👏 You aren't wrapping a present(trying to reduce the amount of wrapping paper used), you are wrapping a cardboard house to protect your family from the elements for several years. If blowing particles or liquid from a snow, rain, sand or dust storm can get in there, so can epoxy. Overlap, overlap, overlap.
I found this video to be very helpful for a project I started and had an issue with the edge where I taped off (incorrectly). With your taping methods, I will go back now and fix that error up and have a finished egde 😉Of course I have some sanding in my future first hahahaha. Great timing for this video! Thank you Rhonda, always so helpful! 🥰🤗
Thank you for so much information! I’ve been looking but haven’t found if it’s possible to do an epoxy waterfall kitchen island. Any chance that you’ve done a video on this? My son and I are planning on making his kitchen counters but he’s really hoping that we can do the waterfall on both sides of the island.
Love your excellent training vids! Is it possible to epoxy the inside edge of a formica sink cut-out in order to transition to an undermount sink? Your advice and tips on this would be greatly appreciated. Thanks so much! 🌹
It can be done and depending on the condition of the countertop material once the sink is removed will dictate how much prep you’ll need to do. Some laminate countertops are made out of particle board and the edge will be very rough. You’ll need to Bondo the edges and then sand them smooth, round over any 90 degree edges so the epoxy will flow nicely. I would also paint Red Guard ( water proof membrane) underneath so protect from any potential water damage.
@@RK3Designs Yay! Thank you most sincerely for teaching me how to do this successfully! I've studied hours of your excellent vids for months and am totally obsessed with tackling this project. You're my DIY Hero! Love and hugs, Pamela
So excited to get started on redoing my bathroom countertop! Thanks for all the great info. What brand of the "easy release" painter's tape do you use? Thanks!
My wall touches my countertop. In future contractor will put tile as backsplash. For now, ill tape the corner of countertop touching the wall but when do i pull out the tape? After the floodcoat but how long after?
I get asked this question a lot. Technically you don’t have to, but we recommended it. If you ever have to replace the sink you’ll damage the countertop if the sink isn’t removed when you pour.
