I went to Bute once - to Rothesay. The ship I was on was HMS Rothesay. (Sorry, it was interesting to me!)
Love your videos and knowledge. I have owned four Border Collies, (pets) and am down to my last one at the moment.
You have given me a huge spurt of enthusiasm to look for number five! Thanks.

I was a member, but the lack of high speed internet in this area meant I had to leave.
No issues at all with getting a refund.
Lots of good information, worth the cost if you have a good internet connection.

I’m trying to train my Border Collie to herd, but we haven’t any livestock yet. Molly is 3.5 years old and has good instincts, eye and is fast. She has a good lie down and recall but she gets really excited around any distractions; joggers, bicycles, scooters and the like. She is a great dog. She thinks she is the smartest person in the world even when she doesn’t know what she’s doing! Do you have any suggestions for teaching her to settle down. Do I just get her to run off her excess energy before starting a training session? I love the way you train your dogs. Teach for success and confidence is the best way 🤗🐾

I miss the free Internet. Remember when people passionate about a subject discovered on the Internet a place where they could easily share their passion and their knowledge and millions of experts enthusiastically shared their content for free. Like a working dog, it was our instinct to want share passion and knowledge; we didn't do it for money because we could not NOT do it. It mostly remained that way for about 10 years before Google Ads took over websites, and Patreon as well as self-help apps that allowed the little operation to easily sell their content.
I am not criticizing Sheepdog School for making a channel intended and useful only for their paying customers; I'm just talking about how sad it is that such channel outnumber free channels by many times. It is the evolution of the Internet.
But that gets me to the point of my comment. This video did not at all deliver on the promise of its title. It did not at all tell how to train a sheepdog. It did not include any kind of guide, let alone a step-by-step guide, for how to train a sheepdog. This video is simply a mashup of very short, incomplete, not useful on their own, clips from a bunch of their training course videos available only to their paying members,. And, that's OK; they're entitled to get paid for their work. It would have been more honest to make this video a paid advertisement rather than offer it as a training video that it wasn't.
In any case, the reason I write this, and why I include the details and opinions that I include, is to let potential future viewers understand that if you're not in the market for buying trained dogs from, I think, Scotland, or training services in, I think, Scotland, or lastly, training on how to train dogs, you're not likely to find much (yes, there's a little) interesting here. There actually is no how to train a dog information in the channel. That's OK. They are free to target those groups I mentioned. Otherwise, though, you might want to keep searching.
