I was only 13 years old in 1986 but I wish I made it to some of the contest they had in New York. Growing up in the Bronx freestyle was not so big. We really had no place to ride specially as a young kid streets were too narrow. We didn’t really have nice backyards Fast forward 50 almost 51 and I’m only about 20 minutes away from where I used to live in the Bronx but now I have all the space in the world to ride just not as healthy as I was bad back Crohn’s disease for my stomach, but I do get out there and ride sometimes only 10 minutes at a timebecause I’m trying to get my blood pressure under control and lose my breath pretty easy. I never made it to one AFA contest, but I was lucky enough to buy some rule books on BMX museum. That’s the closest I got.
