This is why you always leave the DJ's for last.
the music still play if he gets attacked or killed
Nah u gotta do him first so if another Npc attacks him or he agros for some reason, the song won't awkwardly cut in the middle of the coolness.
@@mr.ddhemmalshehri5611 doing this is extra good because the sounds of the music turning back on flows in nicely compared to the previous level.
the music comes back in a minute
Watching the DJ just rockin' while everyone is in the middle of killing spree is just glorious.
The amount of beats in this song is equal to the amount of bottles you have to throw in the katana boss’s face to unalive him.

Sounds like something out of hotline miami 2 probably could be used as a song for any level

It's funny that the song is called "Tony's revenge"

SEIZURE
I've known Paint the Town Red as a game since 2017-8 and yet I just recently found out just a year ago that you can listen to the tracks on YT. Also the games track really made it the hectic fighting game I could watch/play without getting bored. A unique and rocking OST by Kevin Macleod & Jeff van Dyck I've never seen from other visual-interesting beat-them-ups
This level was and is still my favorite to this day mainly because of this very track
This is probably the best soundtrack of PTTR, it has that 80s retro mix
2:56 is my favourite
The disco level has the best soundtrack to it.
Nah. Prison
@@CopeGaming129 the prison one is the best music to hear while trying not to get pummeled to death by the giant buff guy who broke the solitary confinement door
@@galladesamurai2380 take an apple and throw it in his cell (not at him) he's gonna be friendly after that, all you need to do then is either wait for a guard to unlock him or do it yourself
It used to also have an even better soundtrack.
Disco's soundtracks are 2 for 2 in terms of being the best in the game.
If you wonder what I'm referring to, the old Disco soundtrack, "Exit the Premises" was, and still is, the greatest soundtrack in the entire game.
I agree
Everything about this game is mad underrated. ESPECIALLY THE MUSIC!! god you did such an awsome job!
couldn't agree more!
I agree, the game had its peak popularity during its early access stage, with so many big youtubers playing the game, it did kind of fade out a little bit after, especially since beneath took years to make and there wasn't any new content aside from new player made levels. Also, you know the soundtrack is God tier when the guy who made it is the same guy who worked on Alien isolation and total Rome war 2.

it really kinda fits in with you killing everyone you see, all the blood, bodies, and this fire track playing all together makes a awesome level
Amazing work with this one jeff definetly my favourite piece of music from the ost I hope to see more like this from you in the future
Thanks! :) You might like this other OST I did that’s in a similar music genre… ua-cam.com/play/PLCFkL_mbfwe3Xehn4vR6lzt25ife9YZGt.html
Ooo very nice ill have to check those out thanks!
Am I the only one who thinks the katana boss looks like Tony Stark ?
I mean, that's why it's named "Tony's Revenge".
@@kuri5781 nah I think it's a refrence to scarface where the main dude is name Tony Montana
@@itsidonko9009 no
He looks more like the yakuza boss from the simpsons
No I see it too
This soundtrack is truly something different. I've heard it many times over the years, and kept returning to it. I still do
YE BOIIIII
Imagine if this was on in a irl disco when everyone is fighting each other then the DJ is calm
Literally the best video game track I have ever heard
Really glad that this gem finally has it's own unique soundtracks, nice job!
God, the slower part that comes back 2 times (Plays 3 times in total) is transcending
4:12 HITS HARD WHEN YOU ARE ON YOUR PC PLAYING PTTR AT 2AM 🗣️🗣️🗣️
It really does sound like a remix and original version based off Exit the Premises by Kevin Macleod. Amazing work.
This song is addictive
that fade in after you hit the dj tho
Too good for such short level
Although I do miss the Josh Woodward songs for the Prison map, I really love this song for the disco. This one was a great replacement IMO
4:44 my favourite
Fun Gameplay: ✔
Good Graphics: ✔
Replayability: ✔
The best soundtrack: ✔
Yeah the modifiers add a lot of replayability and also the custom maps
@@TheRandomRagerSome custom maps are better than the actual maps!
I wish they revamped the disco level sometime because in its current state its a bit too short and easy. Of course still let the old disco map be playable, but separate the old and revamped one kind of like how pirate cove has a day and night theme.
Agreed
Why does katana boss look like my 7th grade math teacher 😭
Really diggin' this soundtrack. great job.
"Aw yeah, it's so good to be at Club Beatdown! I hope no one kills the katana boss, takes the katana and slices my legs, leaving me to rot in the same place, it would be cringe!"
3:26 I never heard this part, this is such a banger wtf
or 3:59
It means you are a pro player, you can beat the level so fast you don't hear this part.
Because the map is small and there's like only 2 far rooms(katana boss) and the bathroom that makes it less slightly long, unlike the biker bar which may be a small map but have many far rooms that make the game last longer
And this my friends, is the best music to hear when beating up a pimp with his own cane
The cane is kinda op

It's my favorite bit of the whole song
It makes me go wild in VR 😭😭😭
who never begun this stage by kicking the pimp only to get his staff?
I love this soundtrack
If I was an dj I would play this song to 😃
Ok, here is my theory. In the first level, "Biker Bar" The machete boss looks like a lot like the Katana boss. And they are the same person. The machete boss wants revenge after you killed him. So he was fixed and modified, and that's the reason the katana boss is so strong. And based on this name, his name is tony.
I personally prefer the headcanon that Tony is the name of the guy you play as in the disco scenario, looking to kill the katana boss for revenge.
But, I'd be lying if I said this wasn't also a cool way to interpret it!
And on prison he gets arrested so he wants revenge again
@@penter1753 and then he comes back as mfing black beard
That makes do the flying ninja kicks that am jumping around the circles
the amount of dopamine i got when i beat the katana man is unimaginable

My favourite part is definitely at 1:29 absolutely class
epic music
The best battle experience
It's been more than a year since this was posted to youtube and I keep coming back! Amazing work!
1:28 hitting when its just you and the katana boss one on one on the dance floor with all the dead people and blood lying around...
4:26 💯
this is the same music producer thingy that made the ost for Unpacking btw❤
POV Jeff van Dyck make most fcking banger theme in easiest level:
One of the most underrated soundtracks ever in my opinion
did they just drop a hint at the lore by titling this TONY'S revenge? who is tony? is he the player? hmmmm
I think its a hotline miami reference
Plot twist!
Could be that one yakuza dude with the katana but i might be wrong
Saturday Night Fever was the inspiration for the pre battle track (I Think I’m Dancing), so that might be a good clue ;)
Maybe ;)
Fill the town with beats 😎
am love This Part of the music 1:29
Edit: 29
Btw, h ow i see story of this level. A guy named Tony come to disco club, which are under control of Katana Boss to get his revenge. Gets on second floor where he killes everyone and starts going to exit when he finds out, that everyone starts fighting and killing each other for no reason. Suddenly he become envolved in this mess too. After he's done, he sees, that few man remains, bartender, DJ, rich fella and a dude, stucked up with weapons in toilet come up on him. Thx to katana he looted from dead body of Boss he was able to winn this fight, and exhousted leaves this place be
Then he will try to leave only to see 3 men trying to kill him, he kicks one of them to get his weapon and starts whacking. (Katana has broken since it has mid durability) He then defeats them all and the door is finally open to the option to leave.
This sounds like something out of streets of rage 4
I love Kevin McLeod’s music as much as anyone…
But hot DAMN is this a good final choice for the dance floor!
way too good for the level it's in

Paint the town red is such a good game, it's just a shame there's only like 7 scenarios
I suggest you try beneath
I suggest you try player made levels
I suggest you do the arena.
I suggest you try modifiers
I suggest you try challanges in levels
1:28 Damn, this part is without a doubt the best of the entire song and the entire soundtrack and strangely very emotional
Yea!
Yeah, it's great, but for me the best part is starting from 4:20 and goes till very end of song. It kinda feels like whole fight containing desperate fight and victorious final push at the end
1:29 (This is to help me get to this part lol)
From 1:30 and on hits diffrent
4:44 DAMN
Just curious, do you work with South East games or did you just make music for them. Just curious
😐

I work with South East Games, they are some old work colleagues of mine from back in the SEGA Australia days.

Who the hell is Tony, and why does he want revenge?
He's a character from Hotline Miami and well "spoilers" he dies and this track pays homage to the character and the game, that's why it's kinda synthwave and intense.

3:10
this reminds me of payday 2 music
I have that game
This really sounds like Hotline Miami. It's even called "Tony's Revenge"
Sounds like something right out of Payday 2 or Hotline MIami! Great! :)
Is it a bug to be able to fight the Trickster, keep all your stuff and play the whole run again at Caves II, come back to Ruins I & II and fight the Trickster AGAIN to restart the run infinitely?
And if you don’t find veins on the wall, you can leave the game and come back until you get it?
I don't know, but if you get assimilation, then the health carries over between runs as long as you don't leave.
1.25 speed hits hard
