Hey everyone! If you want to support us further please check out our new music video! ua-cam.com/video/O2ugcQUjoVE/v-deo.html Let us know what you think 🤘😁🤘
This song is from like 2013/14 I believe and it was the first song they wrote together. Non-Fiction Days is another early song you guys should check out soon. Their sound has kinda evolved from album to album but that could also be their gear. More people need to hear this song it's one of their best IMO.
Saiki's regular voice is very low and sultry. What you're starting to hear is her speaking voice. Check out one of her interviews, can't understand her, but she sounds kinda sexy.
Nice reaction guys! "ALONE" has really grown on me and became one of my favorites BAND-MAID's song. And this is definitely one of the best Kanami's solos and the surely the best one with her former AddicTone guitare. So after your "Onset" reaction, you should try "Daydreaming" if you like Kanami's solos. Because this one is just 😍👌🏻 Long live BAND-MAID Friday !! Peace guys
You know what I said yesterday about you being plugged into my brain? Well you've done it again. Instant thumbs up. This is my favourite Band-Maid song. The chorus just SOARS and Kanami's solo reduces me to a quivering wreck every damn time. Thank you for the reaction, and the analysis of the solo! I'm one of those who requested it before. I'm so glad you've got to it. 3, 2 ,1, GO!
Don't forget "Puzzle", because Kanami played solo continuously almost in one song. But I also like "Screaming" and "Anemone", especially for "Anemone", I feel Kanami really brought her emotion, heart and her soul to this song.
A little tidbit for Alan- This solo in Alone is widely accepted as Kanami’s most iconic guitar work (solo in Blooming is also right up there), however, ironically, it’s not played with her signature PRS but with her literal signature Addictone guitar! Pre PRS deal. This guitar still has such amazing action, though, and terrific tone!💪🏻🤘🏻
Great reactions as usual guys!! Kanami rocking her Addictone guitar!(back in the day) & Misa with her Fender Bass. Miku usually fills the higher vocals(and sometimes goes super low), and Saiki handles the middle range. ONSET!!! cant wait! wonder if its the LIVE or Studio version? :)
I love this song because looking back on this song with their entire catalogue, this FEELS like Band-Maid’s voice. It’s the first song on an album that they’re credited as the writers and it sounds a bit different than the other songs on this album. I like the rest of the album, especially Non-Fiction Days, but this song blows it out of the water. It has that Band-Maid stank all over it and you get it every album after this. Alone is the turning point for the band. It’s the quintessential Band-Maid sound and they just evolve from this point on. I feel like everything from Alone on is much better than anything before it. I like Thrill, I like Real Existence, but Alone is where they nail their formula for the first time.
MISA MISA MISA! this is (among other things) generally known among MADIACS as Mincho's best NON PRS Solo (did you not notice she was using an AddicTone Guitar)
That was a beautiful blend of having fun and more-analytical music appreciation, nice job! "Blooming" is the song that's known as where Kanami had each member write a part, which she then arranged into a(nother) cohesive masterpiece.
Awesome reaction guys! This was their first song that they wrote as others, and Eric, have said. It was enjoyable to watch on ym break at work, have a great one.
Alone was a great kickoff to Band-Maid's writing career. Love this song and I enjoyed your picking up on what you thought of their writing and performing. On another note, I'm one of those who generally can't choose a favorite song or band etc. But with that said, Band-Maid's song "Awkward" is among my favorites of theirs. There's actually a few others you haven't heard that are among my favorites. Damn, I'm forgetting that Awkward isn't on UA-cam anymore. Give "Yolo" a go. By the way, I really like your sound Dicodec. Keep it up.
Acording to legend this is the first song they wrote themselves that the record company allowed them to record... regarding Saiki and Miku - with voices like theirs could you ever win an argument before caving and agreeing with whatever they were saying lol.
It's been scientifically determined that Miku's whisper can induce anyone to do whatever she asks. Saiki doesn't do the whisper thing because it would reduce listeners to puddles of hot lava.
You're absolutely right, Saiki goes very low on that particular song. Usually she sings higher, and with more power. Here she's more delicate, almost comfy in the way she sings, leaving more place to the backing vocals of Miko (which is logic since the song was written by all of them, and not produced for them).
While this is the first published song they wrote, it was included on their first album released once they moved to the Nippon Crown sub labels. Their first 2 albums they were with Gump Records. The newest album coming in January will be with a different label, Pony Canyon.
Yes, this song has VERY strong pop-punk vibes. And, yeah, Johnny DOESN'T know...... ;o) And IIRC, this song was recorded before Saiki had her vocal polyp surgery, so she her range was a bit restricted.
I *think* it was her individual interview in The Day Before World Domination that Saiki had mentioned that while they were recording Alone her vocal coach had told her that they had the same surgery and that Saiki would eventually need to get it.
August 2017 Saiki was in severe pain trying to sing and couldn't put off surgery anymore. She had been trying to power through it and it was getting unbearable. There is a picture from an early August concert (backstage?) with Kanami drying her tears and trying to comfort her. So Yes, her voice coach did encourage her, but she still put it off till she couldn't anymore. That said, Saiki does have great range and can reach lower than most, but "Alone" was pushing it especially with her vocal cords in that condition.
Kanami's solo is great, but the drum fills are what carry the song all the way through. And then Misa's bass riffs right before the guitar solo. Truly a landmark song in Band-Maid's catalog.
I think it should be Scotty doesn't know from the Eurotrip movie 😄 Nice band maid reaction as always! Looking forward for the Onset and please react also on their Real Existence live performance 😊
Other foiks have filled you in on the history. The reason you felt like it sounds "better" is this is where the Band-Maid "Sound" really came together. Definitely one of my 90 favorite Band-Maid songs!
A wild amateur video from what might be their first international appearance can be found titled "5-11-2016 Band Maid Live in Hong Kong - ALONE" (It's not good enough video quality for posting but fun to watch)
Always difficult to recommend a song from them, but I think you didn't react to "YOLO" until now ( if I remember right ). Love this song and it may happen, you find another favourite solo from Kanami then.
Another great reaction guys uuummm have guys ever redacted to galmet all girl Japanese (heavy ) stuff if not try meters anthem ,or promised dawn thanks again love band maid always be well
now I'll tell you some things that maybe you already know but I'll tell them anyway. Here we are dealing with: A singer, Saiki, who has been singing since the age of six A Miza bassist who plays, so she says, since she was 4, I don't think he played bass but something did. Akane, who has always studied music, piano, trombone, singing, drums. Kanami studied music, melody, and piano, and over time lost some guitar. Miku who writes poems which are now the songs, and who has never played anything, but has decided to study guitar with Kanami right now. All these people then studied in Japan, do you have any idea what a Japanese teacher is? In Japan, it is not like us where the first desperate man who howls at the moon manages to sell records to a mass of idiots. In Japan, there is a tradition of popular musical culture that we cannot imagine. In Japan, ordinary people go to jazz or progressive concerts every week if not classical music. Japanese musical culture is by far the most profound and varied in the world, especially in recent years. If you travel to Japan you can find posters of some upcoming concert at every corner and if you go to see it you will be amazed by the musical quality you will find, and not only that, now in japan a great culture of audio engineering has also developed and you listen to concerts as if they were HI-Fi directly in the hall with crazy sound volumes, you have to try to believe, Japan is another planet, the fools who wander around here wouldn't even want them to sell tickets to the zoo. If you search on youtube you will see that apart from personal taste, all the Japanese bands have high-level technical skills, while many of our homegrown bands make water on all sides except in arrogance. This is really bad because it is impoverishing our musical culture, just look at what crap kids listen to today.
You can tell if they are early fairly easy by looking at Miku's guitar, early she had Rickenbacker, later the more recognizable Zemeitis engraved metal top guitars.
It is interesting that this song was on a later album, but the video was made before the sponsorships came in. No Black Cloud, no Zemaitins, tama or PRS.
They had to make a point to their label that they could write their own songs after the first two. The Label let them try ...... Nuff said :) Kanami's compostions are SO GOOD! ......
Miku always sings higher or lower than Saiki and the band is really relying on her in this song. I think Saiki would sound a bit thin that low especially in those days but she could probably do it now. I think her speaking voice is a little lower now that she is just that little bit older.
Yes, this is the first song they wrote that the label let them put in the album. Also, you can tell it's a early one, as Kanami is playing her Addictone. Before she got her hands on her PSR. While it still had a great sound. It's nothing compared to her PSR.

This is the first Band-Maid song written and composed by the girls that the label allowed on a album. The rest is history! Band-Maid rocks!
Yeah , like how can any record co. say no to THIS. Go Kanami and Miku, and the girls back them to the hilt !
What's your favorite Band-Maid song? The last one you heard! 😋🤘
You know it!
Always!!!!!! LOL
The song where Band-Maid came of age..... Their 1st, 100% original song...... and it's been upward ever since. Cool reaction.....
Band-maid is too hot for the american's broadcast radio.!!!¡ This band is on fire!
This is the song that made the band maid a real band maid. This song is a monument to them.

Most fans also agree that Alone is, if not the best, one of Kanami’s best solos
...and the solo in YOLO...imho🙂👍🏻
@@ronjohnson2193 Daydreaming is definitely up there for me too. Lately I’ve also been digging azure’s solo

First step of Band Maid évolution Alone. Good song for sure
Guys the next reaction to “ Carry On Living - Band Maid "!!!!
This is a special song it was the first song they were able to write and produce on their own and they haven't looked back
as long as you can see miku smile I'm good
That's whats up 🤘
Cant believe the akane comic con footage is gone 😭😭😭😭

Misa is one of the best bassist ever good thing i accidentally stumbled on bandmaid onset video total masterpiece.
She is an absolute beast. 😍
With this song and video they opened the floodgates. Nothing has been the same since then. In the race to World Domination!
New intro was dope! The song you mentioned was is Scotty doesn't know lol?
Hyped for BAND-MAID Fridays!

I loved the way that Akane closed this one out. It sounded so badass.
Yes, this song has VERY strong pop-punk vibes. And, yeah, Johnny DOESN'T know...... ;o)

Not pop-punk, but rock 'n roll which for the most part has sadly gone extinct in the west.

Not to be picky, but "Scottie Doesn't Know". Just listened to it yesterday!

I must admit I always think of Scotty Doesnt Know during the opening bars - Matt Damon's perfect example of what a cameo appearence should be...

TGIF Band-Maid!
When you do Onset, you have to do the live version on their official channel, not the MV.
I think the low keys in the beginning were to help contrast the latter parts of the song..... I could be wrong on their intentions but it worked.
