I love that you not only show us the quick "trick" to get anatomy right, but you also show us actual photographs in order to understand where does that abstraction come from. Excellent work! Edit: I JUST noticed it said "Fro" instead of "From". 2 months later.
The hardest thing about learning from these tutorials is how idk where to even look for muscle references and see how they'd move and react. I want to be a better artist, but it's difficult to fully understand everything. Still nevertheless, what I can gather from your shorts helps me a lot in understanding the body and how to pose it. Thank you.
Tbf, you only need to study very specific mucles if you either want extreme precisability or really want to proficialize in it. If you'r only starting, just study how certain boddies move externaly and if you want to THEN go for the specifics.
@@dingola_ Not OP, but I've already done that before. The main issue is that I don't like seeing naked and barely clothed live models, but clothes cover up the stuff I'm supposed to be looking at. I know, that's a me issue, but still I wish there were videos about this or something. I can't even find a simple walk cycle to demonstrate what the muscles do and how they move, when that would be infinitely better than a static pose for one specific drawing.
@@mostlywholesome Well, for this situation idk, i think somone probably know more then me about it. Also, if you wish to be really profession (carear in ilustration, animation and such) you have to see one or two nakies for time to time so, yeah.

@@jamieagnad1918 yeah, I knew what you were saying, but I just wanted to point something out. It’s not just art, either. I vividly remember some elementary school anatomy lessons, where almost everyone laughed at hearing “bottom.” Or nowadays when math teachers have to deal with everyone saying “erm, what the sigma” if they mention the Greek letter sigma.
Yeah i knew it there's something was wrong with my leg drawing so i just went to Proko and got the answer to my problem but with this yeah it's an easy and fast answer to my problem.
i can't thank you enough, i never knew how to explain why i struggled so much with this specific part and you simplified it in such an easy way to understand. thanks bro
I always struggled judging how wide the hips need to be compared to the upper torso and from there I don't know how wide and apart the legs need to be from each other
this channel is so nice because of it's REALLY specific mention of anatomy. I am in Kinesiology, watching your channel with all your specific mentions of bones, landmarks and muscles is so cool

Thank you so much for explaining it!! 😭😭 It's my struggle for months, yet somehow I rarely see art tutorial that explain on how to connect the body & legs. Sometime they only draw the bottom with boxes, but still make the drawing look decent :"
ohhhhh!!! this makes so much sense for why i draw circles on the hips to connect the torso and legs!!! i had no clue, but all i knew was that it looked natural to me. this explains a lot!!

man i love it when you make it impossible to compare the corrected hips with the bad ones at the start by covering it with shorts :’) not hating, just thought it was smth funny to point out lol
i've been there, i connected the pelvis and the legs without giving it a space and ended up having a weird legs, its kinda tricky because when you look at muscular anatomy you see that the pelvis and the legs kinda connected together when in reality there's a space between them, you will understand it better in sitting position
Yeah, when i made my character i fucked up the legs, was the first thing i ever drew, fucked it up partially and then decided never to draw again, its still on my laptop
