Haha that’s hilarious. I love the idea of bringing both. Or maybe you can just make it and call it roasted red pepper pasta, and that way they won’t feel like their classic pasta salad is being stepped on 😉

Nisha, this pasta salad looks so good. America's Test Kitchen made a pasta salad that had a thick sauce similar to this that used pepperoncini peppers, but it looked too spicy for me. I can't wait to try this. Thanks for your hard work!

I added like 1/4 cup nutritional yeast it was BOMB
If you want a really good Spanish paprika, look for de words "pimentón de la vera". It's the best paprika you will find. And also Spanish olive oil will make a difference. I'm gonna try this recipe, looks incredible

Made this for a picnic and it was great! Of course I forgot to save the pasta water. I was also making hummus so I just used the chickpea water and it worked fine.

Looks SO good!!! Also reminds me of muhamarra which is probably my favorite dip!!! One time I tried to make up my own pasta salad recipe using LOTS of roasted garlic to make a creamy sauce. It was good but I think that you could probably make a better version of it if that interested you! 💜

Don’t the roasted red bell peppers make the sauce extremely acidic? I have tried a roasted red pepper sauce before, but it gave us major acid reflux :(

Oh, wow, have to try this! Your sauce is basically muhammara, which I LOVE. Breadcrumbs, walnuts, red pepper, sauteed onion - the spices are a bit different: cumin and aleppo pepper, which gives it that smoky flavor with very subtle heat. I make it a lot but just use it as a dip for pita bread like hummus. Never thought of using it in a pasta salad, but that looks absolutely fantastic! Thank you!

I’ve made this soooo many times yet, since Claire Saffitz made this for Bon Appetit several years ago. It is my favourite pasta salad ever. Romesco sauce is the best!

I have never really been a fan of pasta salad because they're either undercooked or stodgy or way too vinegary. But this looks amazing!! So many of my fav ingredients and so fresh. I think you may have just convinced me to try one again!!

Is there any non nut substitute for the walnuts? If not I might mess around with making more of a hummus thing and swap the walnuts and bread for white beans in the sauce. Looks really good though!

@@amykryka5864 Yeah I am wondering if the texture or consistency of the sauce might be off. I know sunflower seed kernels might be an option but I forget what walnuts taste like, so idk if sunflower kernels would add a taste to it that walnuts wouldn't. 🤔
