Hi there Donna, Merylee and Michelle. I'm another Aussie from Brisbane in Queensland and I completely agree with your sentiments. It's usually too hot here to use a quilt but that doesn't stop me from making them. I give them away as gifts. Everyone in the family has at least one. I really get a good laugh when I watch you. Whenever you pick your border fabrics I always pick the opposite if what you pick😂. That just goes to show your years of experience compared to mine.
Gorgeous fabric, love the blues reminds me of the Mediterranean. Can you please do a summery quilt in yellow fabrics, you do not use that colour often and as it brightens up a gloomy day like today in the UK it would be good to see. Wanda Coleman , Dana, and Mary: Practice on some wide-ruled notebook paper. Take the thread out of the needle and take the bobbin out. Now put the paper under the presser foot, just like fabric, with the needle on one of the ruled lines. Feed dogs up, presser foot down, let the machine do the work. Don't watch the needle; maybe kind of look to the side where the seam allowance marks are on the machine bed or, in the case of using the ruled paper, look at a portion of your line closer to the edge of the machine nearest your lap instead of where it is going under the needle. Again - don't watch the needle. Once you move on to practicing with fabric, don't pull on the fabric in the front or the back ... let the machine's feed dogs do the pulling. Just gently (GENTLY) guide the fabric along the seam allowance markings on the bed of the machine or build a "fence" out of layers of painter's tape or a sticky notepad to help give the fabric a bumper along the right hand side of the needle. Islander Sewing System teaches how to handle fabric like the industry sewists do - no pins needed and very relaxed posture because they sit at those machines for hours at a time. Check it out.

Thank you for showing the fabrics up close as I would see them on my lap. Thought that these were pretty until you showed the large border print up close and saw it looks like cross stitch. AND with metallic? Love, love, love that fabric! Will have to check online to see which ones I want next week. Good timing for me on that one. Love star patterns and this one is different but still recognizable as a star. You are so awesome, lady. Just love your choices.

So pretty! And it looked so easy! Love anything stars though! And spinning stars is even better! Love your simple to follow technique and instructions. But the fish giveaway quilt is one of my favorites. I have two different patterns to make one but haven’t gotten around to either of them yet, so winning one would be so awesome! My husband and I are finishing up the ironing mat from Matt’s video. Making it fit on top of our pool table. Can’t wait for it to be finished so I can use it! Thanks for your videos! They are so helpful and easy to follow!

You are by far the best quilt maker, you always explain things so so detailed even thought you said the same thing over and over. You have the best choices of fabrics for your quilts. I have so much trouble with picking out fabric. You seem like the quilt wisperer! Thank you for your tutorials and all your hard work. You make quilting look easy. I have a veey special layer cake and I want to put it into a quilt for my grand daughter and I am struggling to find the perfect pattern. I dont want to cut the squares to much because I dont want them to get lost in the quilt. my fabric is called tutu and toe shoes and my daughter was a dancer and now her daughter is training in dance. I will continue to watch your videos and Im sure I will find the perfect pattern. Prayers and love to you and your family.

Another YUMMY quilt. I love your tutorials. The patterns you choose usually have no "tricky" sewing techniques, but I appreciate your amazing organization and presentation. Since the sewing is fairly simple, could you please spend MORE TIME explaining your reasoning when choosing border colors...light vs. dark...and explain what affect one choice would produce over the other. This is one place I usually have a lot of trouble and it seems easy for you. Thank you also for all the give-aways.
