I'm a Telugu girl who also knows Tamil and watched Vijay's Pokiri.. You Tamil people need to understand that the screenplay of the Telugu movie is completely different from Tamil.. Telugu Pokiri doesn't go in depth with comedy and it stays a bit in serious tone from scene 1 where as Tamil movie has a lot of comedy tracks in between and even the hero's character was written as a Joyful guy but Mahesh's character was rugged and rough... That is why there was NO NEED for expressions for Mahesh.
And for those who still doesn't accept that Mahesh is an excellent actor, needs to watch his movies like Murari, Nijam, Arjun and Khaleja .. He gives expressions where needed... and that is enough for us Telugu people.

🔴 Hi guys, as a tamil guy I like ghilli a lot and I also respect okkadu and SSMB. I agree without original there is no remake, but the second half of the film okkadu doesn't work for tamil audience like it worked for Telugu audience.... That's why dir tharani altered few scenes in tamil.
At 2004, he was a busiest and top commercial film maker in tamil (and I also thank dir gunasekar for the script). For Telugu audience, in this film Vijay sir's acting looks like overacting, but he literally connected with tamil audience bcoz that's how we react with our family, siblings and frnds.... So we got easily connected to Vijay sir.
Moreover, tamil people never started Okkadu vs Ghilli and Pokiri vs Pokkiri, it was started by "PHANUMANTU" Telugu UA-cam channel., Criticizing any film is not wrong, but body shaming, showing racist attitude and degrading a person etc., Is completely wrong, that's what they did while reacting to ghilli and Pokkiri. Without watching the whole film, they just started to troll.
If few people doesn't like an actor's acting that doesn't mean he is a bad actor (in every industries). It's just you couldn't connect with the film.
" If Telugu people defend your superstars then why shouldn't we tamil people defend our superstars ".
Finally, remaking a movie is not a cheap thing, the soul purpose of remaking a film is just to, make audience feel the same way what the orginal movie created.... That's what happening in all industries.
Many Telugu people saying that Vijay is a remake star.... Okay, out of 68 films he has total remakes of 14 films. 2 SSMB movies, 1 Venkatesh sir movie, 1 PSPK garu movie and other 2 remakes from Telugu and balance 8 films are from other industries. But at the same time telugu industry has remaked his 8 movies in telugu in that PSPK has remaked 4 films (Suswagatham, Annavaram, Kushi and currently remaking 'Theri' with few changes in screenplay as Ustad bhagat singh "If you don't believe you can google it".) and Super star Nagarjuna has remaked one movie and mega star chiranjeevi has remaked 1 movie and 2 others has remaked 2 films (once more and priyamudan).
If you count Vijay sir's remake percentage haven't even remaked 1/4 of his total filmography, if you still call him remake star then also say PSPK garu has remaked 12 films in total of his 28 movies and Mega star has remaked 38 movies out of 160 films and super star rajnikanth made 60 remakes out of 169 films and Super star Mohan lal made 30+ remakes out of 300+ movies and Kannada super star Shiva Rajkumar made 28 remakes out of 90+ movies and Venkatesh sir has made 32 remakes out of 80+ movies etc..... Does all these LEGENDS are remake stars for you people (including tamil and Telugu people)....
Remakes are always a great business to earn money easily, every one must understand that.... Tamil people always celebrated good content from all industries like bahubali, Jawan, Manjummel boys etc.... We never taught because of films our brotherhood will be broken....
If I hurt anybody's feelings I am very sorry, I am just trying to communicate as a cinephile.
"Without cinema, life is always empty", so respect cinema and actors for entertaining us. As a tamil guy on behalf of others, I wish all the best for "Kalki 2898 A.D" & other films too.... and today Maharaja (VJS 50th film) has released in tamil.... The movie is really a very good thriller, if you got a chance please visit in theatres.

You are trolling our TFi by making our movies remkes ,you should have shame to troll our industry, half of the vijay movies were remakes of other movies,by remaking our movies ur living in a trance that we were deliverd cult movies😂, MB didnt remade any filim in his career but vijay scored most of the success by remake movies, MB made just 28 movies and gained equal stardam as thalapathy , were as thalapathy made 60+ movies,when it comes to acting in Tamil industry Surya ,kamal sir, vikram,Dhanush comes first
