The Boy Next Door is just so nice to hear, one of the best show tunes ever.

Most impressive to me is Mark's ability to coax a convincing string sound from an organ. Bravo.

It is absolutely stunning, what these organ guys can play. All by heart, no playback, no MIDI, and with a collection of switches more than a jet plane.

Only in my dreams could my playing sound anywhere near like Mr. Herman's wonderful performance. Thank you Mark.

Wow, what a brilliant performance from Mark. All credit to the folk who keep this fantastic instrument in such tip-top condition. Thanks to DTOS and all involved in putting this together, the sound and video was tremendous. Well worth staying up for (UK).

So, nearly 10 months on and I keep coming back to this awesome recording.
My only wish is that perhaps in the future it might be possible for the registrations to be on, perhaps, a 'closed caption' track or something, though I realise it's a tall order. it's just that Mark's registrations are so fantastically colourful - perhaps it's just me! Thanks all the same for several months (to date) of wonderful listening.
Oh, and thank you for your wonder tribute to HRH The Prince Philip, Duke (born Prince Philip of Greece and Denmark, later Philip Mountbatten) & Vera Lynn - as a brit I find it still touching, even now.
EDIT: 'Memories of you' he has that tpt lead line lip trill off to a tee (speaking as a tpt player - brilliant)

The perfect combination of room acoustic, instrument and artist! Over this past year, I’ve really become a devotee of Mark Herman’s artistry and arrangements style. To quote a line from “Auntie Mame” he’s “Top Drawer”! 😄 As an avid consumer of TO recordings I definitely hear stylistic influences in his playing from the likes of Johnny Seng, Simon Gledhill, George Wright, Billy Nalle, Jim Riggs and maybe some Buddy Cole and yes even Jesse Crawford too thrown in for good measure. Even though he’s got these wonderful influences to draw from, he never outright copies any of them. He’s got his very own singular style which is a defining feature of a modern console artist. Bravo Mark! Kudos also to Dickinson Theatre Organ Society for stepping up their production game with advanced video and sound making these virtual concerts more accessible to the internet world! And of course, there aren’t enough superlatives to describe the fabulous 3/66 Dickinson Kimball. So I won’t. Suffice it to say, this instrument is in my top five pipe organs that I really wish sometime soon to sing with in performance. 😉😉

While enjoying Mark's always superb playing, I'm pleasantly surprised to see your mention of Billy Nalle. I knew him well during his years in Wichita KS. Immensely enjoyed his unique style and personality. From his years in NYC, Billy knew the Paramount organ in Wichita maybe better than anyone and coaxed the most remarkable sounds from it.

My gracious, what a fantastic performance, full of rhythmic vitality and sensitive musicality, just marvelous and at a level quite beyond the normal. Mark, I just love your work and so enjoy listening to all your concerts, also your delightful evenings from your home at your piano, another example of your gifted musicianship. There are many who would gain much by studying your command of the organ, always displaying an extraordinary level of care, thought and accuracy, especially your rhythmic control and attention to phrasing details. Thank you so much for all that you do for the instrument we all love so much, speaking off which, the Dickinson instrument is now one of my favorite, what a gorgeous beast, she just sings her heart out with you at the console, truly an instrument of unique musical beauty, no doubt about that. Again, all my thanks Mark for a spellbinding evening of musical delight. I will be making a contribution to DTOS in due course, this with my deepest appreciation...take care. Adrian in Bermuda.

Wonderful playing. I was distressed by the picture showing all the empty seats. I am glad that does not stop people like Mark from the organ. Thank you to all organists for entertaining us.

As a fairly new devotee of Mark Herman in both organ and piano mode it is a delight to listen to this. Whilst we have some fabulous players here in England Mark’s wonderful style is so refreshing. All things being well we hope to see him when he comes over here next year. Thanks for the music Mark. Regards, Tony Oliver

These keep on getting better and better. Amazing venue and artist. He’s personable, knowledgeable, humorous, gifted, but seemingly down to earth and able to convey information for us amazingly well. You know hold the prize for one of my most favorite of all theatre organ arrangements of any song, “Dancing In The Dark” Just enough chord modulations to keep it interesting without making it bizarre. Ive said a few times, if there’s any silver lining to covid, we get to hear all these wonderful installation as we would in a concert environment, from all over over world. Stunning. Thank you Mark.

1500 songs committed to memory! Probably including the lyrics, judging by how much he matches phrasing to the words. It's hard to grasp all that's going on in that brain of his as he brings so much skill and beauty to each and every performance. Thank you Mark.

Seems to me I'm hearing a cross between Jesse Crawford and George Wright (who I had the great pleasure of meeting many years ago.) Outstanding performance on a phenomally good instrument that sounds to be perfectly maintained.
