    This song is amazing. it existed before the internet, they predicted that people talking and connecting online would become a reality. What's even more crazy, they predicted that relationships could exist online. Phil Oakley is a psychic god.

      If you think that was psychic, you should watch the movie Electric Dreams, this song used as the theme for the movie.

    God this makes me want to cry. I remember traveling as a kid. To cities like New York. The excitement of driving into a new city. And there was absolutely no doubt that this was the greatest country in the world. Now, as an adult, I just don't know....things aren't the same.

    I remember the 80's so well. We all danced in random places and were filled wth a sense of optimism and belief that the world was going to be just fine as long as the kids danced in stores and wore bright clothing. We saved the world, our generation.

    This song evokes intense nostalgia to me. Even when I was a small kid, it did that.
    The digital realm creates a wonderful path crossing any distance and even any language between people. You can take a peek at anywhere in the world without having to leave your house....but it still can't break the divide between the living and dead.
    That's what this song always reminds me of.

    yeah, I can get it for even less than that, but mine was the original first edition release, it is now released by a different distributor. the original first edition was a couple minutes longer but only like 2 minutes or something so nothing to jump up and down with. At the end of the day it's still the same movie so I'm glad that you have it because its an awesome movie. I just can't wait until it hits Bluray that would be awesome.....

    I love the old movies, I have this on DVD, cost me $80 since its not easy to find and the only dvd worth every cent...
    These old movies are awesome, don't get me wrong I love Die Hard and Transformers etc but something about these older movies that will always be awesome, you can't make movies like this anymore with back in the old day scenes and cool music and even great story lines and other greats like plains, trains and autombiles and Tom Hanks 'Big' etc, those were the days.

    I think it's a reference to a short story by P.K.Dick. It was later made into a rather famous little film you may not have heard of it, it starred the greatest film actor of the 80s Harrison Ford and was directed by the director of Alien his name was Ridley Scott. The film was called Bladerunner by the way. It was AWESOME. The story was called Do androids dream of electric sheep.

    The majority today is godawful. Although some little gems that occasionally break through, such as Cee Lo Green, and a few others. But, the majority is pure dross.I for one did not complain about 70's music in the 80's, 80's in the 90's, 90's in the 00's, etc. I take good music whenever it comes from. I have heard many good tracks dating back to the early 1920's, if you listen past the crackling from the shellac!

    You remember the good stuff like this, or Kraftwerk or whatever, and you go "Wow the 80s was so great compared to the shit we get nowadays". Except for every Duran Duran there was an Icicle Works, for every Blancmange a Shakatak, for every Spandau Ballet a Matt Bianco. The crap gets forgotten, the good stuff is remembered. You might think today is bad, but in 25 years nobody'll remember Carly Rae Jepsen or Jessie J, and future people will go "WOW 2012 WAS AWESOME THUMBS UP FOR BEING A 2012 KID"

    I love this track. I was born in 1984 so sadly I couldn't appreciate it first time round, but I still love this track. Back in the 80s music was awesome. The shit we see on talent shows these days makes me fucking sick when there are far better artists who don't get a chance. Is Jedward & Justin Beiber really the standard of music these days? If Simon Cowell is reading this, stop promoting shit and get some proper music out there! Bring back 80s music & show everyone how good music can be!!

    a) This song was written by Phil, but he did not release it under his own name, this song was released by The Human League, so the correct title of this video should be "The Human League - Together in Electric Dreams";
    b) It's Phil OAKEY not OAKLEY! Why do people keep making this mistake! It's really easy to get right, his name's only 5 letters long!

    EDF is a British electricity company which is using this song in a TV marketing campaign at the moment, which has propelled the song into the population's psyche once again. For some people, we regarded it anyway and didn't need to wait until a record label sold out (like so many do) to an advertising agency.

    ... or maybe they remember how good Phil / the Human League was in the very beginning, from 1977 to 1981...?? the 80s was great, but it started in the late 70s! Maybe they like the progressive songs like Empire State Human, Being Boiled, Circus of Death and The Black Hit of Space more than this more mainstream pop song?? Maybe it is like that?

    My wife and I saw this charming film in the theater because Siskel and Ebert gave it a big thumbs up on "Sneak Previews." Incredible soundtrack, and one of the few films where the director didn't make the gorgeous Virginia Madsen take off her clothes. Actor Lenny Von Dohlen is sort of an '80s version of "Friends" star David Schwimmer.

    The movie was a typical 80s computer geek movie, where the computer comes alive and eats up his life - not much different from what happened to me in my life. The computer won in the end, in that case he flick was far ahead of its time. Great soundtrack nevertheless.
