@@xboxmonkies1 true Pokémon do need to print more and that may help with the scalping problem, in my opinion there’s a difference to investing in something and scalping something though, scalpers are buying so much product way more than necessary so there’s none or nearly none left in stock than manipulate the market by slapping their own price on it and move it on as soon as possible before more of that product becomes available again or if they’re really lucky no more of that product becomes available than they are left sat on a gold mine, whereas when you invest into something you don’t manipulate the market like what we are seeing you wait until it makes a profit not force it
We will see Pokerev and Leonhart oppening 720 packs the next morning while we can't afford a single box or just get one. God damn, scalpers and people who put prices all the time on cards, get out of here so we can collect for fun like in elementary school time
how TF are pokemon card prices skyrocketing again when most americans are flat broke? Im so over this hobby its a joke now. Paying 200 dollars for 10 bucks worth of bulk to chance another umbreon
I'm done with the hobby. This has gotten out of control. I usually spend a few grand on pre orders for every set, but I'll never pay a dime over msrp. I don't want to be associated with these people, or judged for participating in an innocent hobby I've had since childhood. I've canceled every pre order I have outstanding, I'm done. I may be back in a few years when it's not full of chronically unemployed "hustlaz" elbowing the elderly, women and children for a few dollars. Disgusting.
The reason a LOT of these "sneaker" buyers moved away from that market is because sellers put a "lottery" and "raffle" system with captcha's and ways to make sure you're HUMAN in place with numbers. See, they got smart and decided to stop people from buying everything up and flip it on StockX and other markets. And it looks like that is the way Pokemon is gonna have to head if they want to stop these bots and people literally creating "false scarcity" in the market.
I hate scalpers like this with every fiber of my being. I only collect to keep. Don't care how much the card is worth. The only way i'd sell my cards is if I lost my job and needed the money bad enough but I wouldn't go out and buy a shitton of boxes and hope to sell them for a profit.
I'll never understand why these products aren't limited to 2 per person. This would make the employees lives easier also I think. It would be win-win for them.
Adults ruin everything! I’m 50, and would NEVER act or do ANYTHING like this. Limits by the stores would curb a lot of this BS….. to much to ask of people, to be a human being. NOT AN ASS!
Just came back to collecting after around 2 years and I came back to this 😭😭 can’t believe a brand new set is going for over a hundred dollars for an etb . 🤦🏻♂️🤦🏻♂️🤦🏻♂️
@@OpossumBudhaha yea man it is what it is, I’ll just stick to collecting some sealed sword and shield etbs. Used to watch you all the time, great to see you still at it, love the channel man ! 🤙🏽🤙🏽
The hobby is in shambles. You can't just walk in and buy product, big box stores are sold out, local LGS are sold out. Only option is pay double, triple MSRP for sealed stuff or buy cards individually... even then anything remotely considered a chase is hundreds of dollars from the get go and only goes up. Really hope pokemon company prints these sets to the GROUND. Normal people can buy product, collectors can buy sealed product (at a normal price) and in 5-10 years the values will still go up. There is zero reason day 1 of a product launch or pre order the entire inventory should vanish in seconds. Insane times for sure
My gf and I went out today to look for the new set and ran into a guy with a huge stack of products who was grabbing more than he could carry and leaving us with one tin of older sets. When we went to the check out he was asking if we were also streamers on whatnot.. like wtf lol. People like that suck so much
My LGS was amazing about Prismatic, no preoders, not internet order, 1 item that's it, only regulars knew they had it. To top it off MSRP. Owner brought so much joy to the children, yes children who got the items.
I wish the owner of the cardshop I work at did something similar... I asked so many times if we could remove the plastic removal/pack corner snipping when selling the product to sell it at msrp to make our regular kids that come in happy. He said no, and is selling it at 3x the price (the price of scalpers). It hurt my soul every time i had to tell someone the price, and apologized so much... Lots of negative reviews about it too...
As a true Pokémon collector of 12 years, I know that with this Prismatic Evolution “craze,” I will have no problem finding a pack or two to rip when I have the chance! Give it a couple of weeks, and these fake people will hopefully crawl back into whatever little holes they came out from. Personally, I think these ETB’s and first wave products are overrated due to the shit-like pull rates! The Booster Bundles are where it is going to be at for Prismatic come March! 😉
Today, true colors were shown by a local tcg shop. He was nothing more than a scalper that got a full pallet of prismatic, canceled pre orders to only turn around and sell for higher prices, and fucked over good customers. I was one of those customers. Disgusting behavior from everyone during these times.
I have no problem with stores selling high if they really need to but cancelling pre-orders to relist is egregious. Either sell it high in the first place or honour your pre-orders. Had they already taken payment from people? Some places use it as an interest free loan.
@@Slammindeezeproductions nah the true colors were shown by the community who has zero understanding of supply/demand and no idea how to run a business. LGS are getting cooked by having 10% of their normal allocation and in order to be able to make rent they have to charge market price to compete with online shops who have little to no overhead. Your a moron.
I do collect Pokémon cards, but I also sell them. I buy a couple of booster boxes here and there put them away for a few years and then sell them. Nothing too extravagant But yes, I totally agree The people buying 20 or 30 boxes are ridiculous The sad thing is I haven’t even opened one package of 151 because it’s stupidly hard to find In stores True, I could always order some online for three times the price…
I chose the wrong time to get back into the hobby. I will never buy from Scalpers on eBay or marketplace etc. The markup they charge is insane. People just need to not buy from them.
Costco is a huge part of the problem here, they need to either ensure all stores selling this do so in an orderly manner or simply remove the product from their warehouses and sell through their website. Prismatic Evolutions is more profitable to resell, but it's consistently Costco 151 products (tins and now Blooming Waters) resulting in this bad behavior.
I think the Pokemon community has hit the top of the list for pop culture community toxicity it's surpassed all the other card games it's passed Warhammer it's up there baby lol
I went to go pick up my P.E. Yesterday at my local store and there was a line since it’s a big thing, the guys who were standing in front of me proudly said “yeah I paid 300 for an ETB, I needed it bad but I got nothing from it.” Dude I couldn’t help but laugh
Costco is 100% to blame for this. Is this what Pokemon company want? If not don’t sell to Costco and demand they bring the situation under control. It’s all very predictable the smallest care on costcos part would deal with the issue. Limit to 1 item per card. They will still sellout.
"The pokemon community" ...that phrase always makes me laugh. Ppl don't care about one another in this hobby near enough to call us a "community"... it's more like dog eat dog... especially when profit is involved 😢,..hate to say it but, truth is truth
Ya most people talk about community but really it's just "shared interest group." That is not the same as a community but people lack the experience of being a part of a real community so they think common interest or hobby is all it takes.
I was at my local target and me and people in line waited for the boxes to come out, then everyone there grabbed like 4 or more of each(binder, 3pack,etc), but then the employee said limit of one of each product per customer, so the scalpers couldn't buy up everything and more people got to buy some. 😊
I went to a GameStop on release day. I was there 30 minutes before opening hoping to get just something to open with the fam. The moment they opened they sold to 2 people and said they were sold out. So I decided to by a hanger pack as a consolation prize and the lady working there I over heard telling someone else that when they get the next shipment in that she will call him so he can come and get the rest of them 🤦♂️
Yep my gamestop had a couple scalpers show up for prismatic but luckily about 15 of us normies who just wanted to open some packs got there 2 hours earlier so they didn't get 💩. Unfortunately for me I was 3rd in line and when it was my turn to chose 2 products there was only 2 etbs left.... and a few binder collections... I really wanted 2 etbs but right behind me was a little old lady who said she was trying to buy an etb for her grandkids. I just couldn't do it... i wound up getting 1 etb and a binder collection and pulled absolutely nothing, no good deed I suppose 🙃
I got PTSD from working the Black Friday week. I had online orders that couldn’t be fulfilled cause I got cleaned out not even 10 minutes from opening. I’m over TCGs
It’s the same as when Logan Paul was opening vintage back in 2020. People lost their minds and you saw stuff like this everywhere. This has happened before and it will die down just like it did last time.
@@OpossumBud it really is, man. It will pass and everything will be great until the inevitable Japanese boom happens and everyone is freaking out about that.
This is why I think it will be printed to the ground. Pokemon got away with "short printing" after the first few sets of Scarlet and Violet were being treated as not that good or whatever but when the hype hits the highest the negative news is not what they want or good for their company's image. They don't want to be associated with people fighting at stores and infact last time this happened stores like Target said they would temporarily stop selling Pokemon. Which means they are forced to fix supply issues.
It's hilarious watching "collectors" whine when pokemon literally responded to "collectors" not buying and stores fire selling product at a loss less than a year ago. They did this to themselves and some how don't see it.
@@tallcatshortdog Very true. Pokemon did this on purpose due to SV being cheap for so long. But I also think when hype if fever pitch it gives an excuse to heavily print without people being down on the product as "overprinted". Technically Evolving Skies was heavily printed.
My local store (which was the only local way I could expect anything at less than 200% retail) just announced the Journey Together preorder window got cut short by a month, product is likely to be even more limited than PRE and local MSRP is going up. Sad times will probably last a fair bit longer.
Don’t buy new release for more than msrp and scalpers would stop. Don’t get it…I found a little at stores at msrp and more at lgs’s for $90 + for etb’s yesterday. I politely declined and said I don’t want it that bad….not a big deal. I went through the covid craze and remember how much was available later…
This is exactly why i'm going more for Japanese sets now instead of English sets. Not saying I hate English but Japanese sets are way more available compared to English sets.
I don’t even plan on buying prismatic for a couple months from now and even then I’m just going to buy the singles I want and can afford..I stay away from all the crap that has gone on and is currently going on ..too many assholes are in our hobby
Makes you wonder if Costco will put limits on this shit. I’ve seen so many videos surface, there’s no way their higher ups won’t see this soon… and they’ll just stop carrying the cards. Pokemon isn’t a fart in the wind compared to the rest of the profits of what other items they sell. They won’t like this kind of publicity.
To paraphrase your golden encapsulation of the current state of Pokémon scalping - grown adults reverting to primal ways, where if they don't get enough of the 151 caribou to bring back to the cave, then a rough winter is imminent for their families - this is spot on. Thanks for always bringing things into perspective with your content. Digging the peak into your evolving collection in the background there as well.
I'm looking at my sealed collection dropping in value 2 days in a row and I couldn't be happier. The majority of the value drop comes from my 151 and Prismatic Evolutions product. I wanna see those products drop to the floor and keep dropping to the point where scalpers go bankrupt and product becomes widely available for all players and collectors. Hoping we'll see a mass cancellation of pre-orders for JT as well.
Yup... I'm skipping these next few sets. I'm an avid player more than anything, but also ripping packs and collecting is fun but it is NOWHERE NEAR worth the jacked up prices or being associated with these fools. I'll buy competitive singles and that's it. Makes me sad
Ok so I don’t know if Asmond actually went over why those two were fighting, but after digging around Reddit we learned that the man in the green jacket (and who got elbowed in the face) was just trying to buy 2 boxes for his son since his birthday was coming up. The dad had two of them in hand first but the dipshit sneaker idiot in the hoodie; came in and tried to yank those two boxes from his hands. Hence why the fight broke out. The idiot is from the sneaker community and in his instagram stories; before he went private; you can see he had about 8-10 Blooming Onion boxes. We’re now entering in a time that people who aren’t even in the pokemon space; trying to get cards for a quick profit. To wrap up the story; green jacket dad and stupid idiot face ended up getting one box each. But before the dumb dumb could leave; green jacket dad snapped a photo of him and posted it on Reddit. The internet did its thing and found the dumb dumb social media pages; his full name; where he worked and they even found his mom. Yes the internet went in and told his mom at what a shit son she raised. (They even sent her the video footage) Someone even shared Costco’s CEO’s email and started reporting him. It got to the point where some folks want to report him to the police and charge him with assault. Anywho..happy prismatic release day 🎉
At a store , a man thought it was a good idea to take almost all the prismatic evolutions and when he got to the parking lot. He left home with nothing but a beating 😂
You wanna know what’s silly? Costco across my city back in like November and December had 151 stock they couldn’t even fire sale. Suddenly before prismatic launch, it all disappeared in a day…. lol. All to resell to make a 10$ profit. It’s all good, they will continue to print the same as they did for shining fates and Zenith
All of this bullshit is because of streaming. UA-cam hype videos, whatnot gambling. People care when its cool and dont when its not. The hype train runs on hype and when the hype dies the train stops. Quick edit- my walmart had 4 etbs of crown zenith sitting there for over a month. One day i decided to pick one up and hit gold so i got on a kick and ended up buying them all over the course of a few weeks(super lucky pulls btw, gold palkia and arceus amongst others) and now all of a sudden CZ is taking off and everyone wants it again. Too many influencers and too many people easily influenced.
When you have Asmond commenting on this shit then you KNOW people are going to talk shit to scalpers with a giant light being put right on just how shitty they are.
All of this could be solved very easily solved and avoided. Make it a ticketed system like when you purchase an Xbox or Playstation you have to take a card up to the register they scan it and they grab it from the cage for you. This would limit them to how many they purchase and there would be no fighting. I guess people might fight over the cards but there would be a limited amount that they could purchase at One time. Retail stores like Walmart and Target could also lock it up in the cage and make it a key item not sure why this hasn't been done yet
It's even more wild to think that on release day. The Pokemon Company doesn't even have their own product to sell. If you don't get the preorder, you virtually don't get anything. Its just shameful. I still managed to get 3 prismatic etbs today. Praying for a god pack!
Hopefully this can create a bigger discussion not only for Pokemon Scalpers, but also scalpers in every hobby. Remember folks, "If it's not MSRP, it's not for me!"
People can get a part-time job and make way more money with less effort than they do from fighting over these boxes.
That’s what I’m saying they could make UA-cam videos and make more

@@xboxmonkies1 true Pokémon do need to print more and that may help with the scalping problem, in my opinion there’s a difference to investing in something and scalping something though, scalpers are buying so much product way more than necessary so there’s none or nearly none left in stock than manipulate the market by slapping their own price on it and move it on as soon as possible before more of that product becomes available again or if they’re really lucky no more of that product becomes available than they are left sat on a gold mine, whereas when you invest into something you don’t manipulate the market like what we are seeing you wait until it makes a profit not force it
Pokémon is going to print Prismatic to the ground and I can’t wait till these scalpers to hold bags
You know its really bad when even this reaches Asmongold, he was right though the pigs were more civilized then those people his age
You mean Asmonroach 😂
@@frameanditoo real
I mean, he has been on the anti-Pokemon grind since Palworld released so its not a surprise really.
We will see Pokerev and Leonhart oppening 720 packs the next morning while we can't afford a single box or just get one. God damn, scalpers and people who put prices all the time on cards, get out of here so we can collect for fun like in elementary school time
Pokemon community is turning to shit. People only care about money and not the art of the cards.
how TF are pokemon card prices skyrocketing again when most americans are flat broke? Im so over this hobby its a joke now. Paying 200 dollars for 10 bucks worth of bulk to chance another umbreon
Crypto up means collectibles go up
@@vivifresh Please tell me you're joking.
Disgusting.
A few grand for each release? You are a dork just like the scalper fools. Go find a girlfriend
@@Mike-jf5ip”go find a girlfriend” go back to 2010 with that 😂😂😂
So pissed that people are ruining this hobby. I’m embarrassed to be known as a Pokemon collector now that these scalpers are doing this dumb shit.
Japan does that and it works pretty well
Surprised they don't all go to sports cards instead. That market looks more lucrative from the outside looking in.
I hate scalpers like this with every fiber of my being. I only collect to keep. Don't care how much the card is worth. The only way i'd sell my cards is if I lost my job and needed the money bad enough but I wouldn't go out and buy a shitton of boxes and hope to sell them for a profit.
People used to say, "believe in the heart of the cards." Now days, the say " Believe in the price of the cards."
Yugis grandfather can agree
As a Pokémon fan, this is something I definitely wouldn't approve of. So not cool.
I’m sorry, you came back at a rough time 😕
@@OpossumBudhaha yea man it is what it is, I’ll just stick to collecting some sealed sword and shield etbs.
It’s definitely a hugely divided community right now… it’ll pass but it’ll take some time, probably a year
@@OpossumBud for sure, it'll crash... hopefully lol. It can't stay at this level forever, nothing does
My gf and I went out today to look for the new set and ran into a guy with a huge stack of products who was grabbing more than he could carry and leaving us with one tin of older sets. When we went to the check out he was asking if we were also streamers on whatnot.. like wtf lol. People like that suck so much
Stop crying
@ you must be a rise and “grinder” get wrecked
We need another South Park episode for this, bring back Chinpokomon!!
Our Costco had a 2 purchase limit, why are these other Costcos not getting with the program??
I noticed a few other trends about the kind of people grabbing 10 packs of blooming water, but I can't say it because it's naughty
This is absolutely ridiculous. I just want that jumbo Blastoise card from that box. Some ppl deserve to be locked up with that behavior.
@monkey39128 oh yeah, they held onto our money till 2 days before release, when they claimed "allocation issies"
Hitmonlee hitmonchan and Hariyama would be so proud people are swinging hands over cards. This hobby is becoming so chaotic.
The company could just produce more
I chose the wrong time to get back into the hobby.
Its the people displaying the behavior and the people who support them that are the problem what are you even on.
@@zappyxp1575 Retailers need to take steps to mitigate this behavior, again, it's primarily Costco with these problems.
Costco corporate told all stores to limit 2. Will help some but still Pokemon Co is wild for under printing with the amount of revenue.
Never thought I'd see Asmon on this channel or in Pokemon 😂
Some of us still care, and our ability to not buy an inflated product shows it
Ya most people talk about community but really it's just "shared interest group." That is not the same as a community but people lack the experience of being a part of a real community so they think common interest or hobby is all it takes.
When asmongold thinks something is disgusting then there is a real problem
I was at my local target and me and people in line waited for the boxes to come out, then everyone there grabbed like 4 or more of each(binder, 3pack,etc), but then the employee said limit of one of each product per customer, so the scalpers couldn't buy up everything and more people got to buy some. 😊
I went to a GameStop on release day. I was there 30 minutes before opening hoping to get just something to open with the fam. The moment they opened they sold to 2 people and said they were sold out. So I decided to by a hanger pack as a consolation prize and the lady working there I over heard telling someone else that when they get the next shipment in that she will call him so he can come and get the rest of them 🤦♂️
Should have reported her ass
@brradv3552 props to you, fam. And don't worry, you will find more products eventually. Just release week is going to be a little insane
@noer.6954 yep. Here's to hoping this winds up like shining fates. I still see that set every now and then.

Also, love that you also made a Squid Game nod, it’s all I could think of during my video the other day.
It’s almost as dystopian as that unfortunately
Pokémon needs to print these sets to oblivion, and sellers need to limit items to 1. Not 2, not 10, 1.
we got grown men catching fades in costco over pokemon cards before gta6
Scalpers aside in italy we have a case of people(thieves) stoping and stealing from trucks that were supplying prismatic evolution to stores.
Glad my Costco limited to 2 per member!
Dude if anyone in my family did this… I’d be so ashamed. Fuck the hobby right now, time to take a break, I’ll just buy more when the reprint comes.
Man I really hope this stuff gets max printed and all the idiots leave
Pokemon said they would try 👀
Can’t even spend my $100 I let myself spend on a new set 😢
Scalpers are cringe basement dwellers who survive off of pizza pockets their mom makes them and they survive on the radiation they’re computer emits
Anywho..happy prismatic release day 🎉
Without preorders, I would've been screwed today. No reason stores can't place limits on new releases to make it more fair for everyone!
They could but then money
Yep, same with us. Without the preorder, we wouldnt have been able to get anything either
At a store , a man thought it was a good idea to take almost all the prismatic evolutions and when he got to the parking lot. He left home with nothing but a beating 😂
Agreed on limits, shame on Costco for not having this figured out in 2025. Embarrassing all around.

Exactly where were all the collectors lol
When you have Asmond commenting on this shit then you KNOW people are going to talk shit to scalpers with a giant light being put right on just how shitty they are.
He went pretty heavy in scalpers too, I agreed with a lot of it
All of this could be solved very easily solved and avoided.
Asmongold has made it to Oposum, crazy!
Ive got 151 problems and they all scalpers.
It's even more wild to think that on release day. The Pokemon Company doesn't even have their own product to sell. If you don't get the preorder, you virtually don't get anything. Its just shameful. I still managed to get 3 prismatic etbs today. Praying for a god pack!
Gets 3 ETBs, still whines on Internet that he didn't get enough ... Typical timmy
Booms like this solidify to me that I made the right choice of buying and holding pokemon products! I wuv this hobby
