Thank you soooo much. I'm new to rag quilting. I've been putting off quilts because I dislike the process of quilting after the blocks are made. I discovered that I love the look and process of rag quilting, and your channel popped up. This is so helpful! I'm currently using cotton on front, flannel in the middle, and cotton on the back. I can't wait to try the options you shared!

The X is used on rag quilts if people use batting because it breaks down. It isn’t necessary if you’re just using regular fabric.

I was wondering, do anything special to finish off the outside edges of your rag quilts? I want to make one but I’m not certain how to finish the edges! I’ve considered traditional binding but I’m not sure how that would look. You may have already done a video on this but I couldn’t seem to find one. Thank you!😊

Traditionally, you stitch all the way around the outside of the quilt, 1/4-1/2" from the edge. Then you would just clip the edges and let them fray in the wash. This creates a soft fluffy edge. You can also bind the edge of you prefer. There really are a ton of options.
