I remember in 2004 or something like that. My dad had brought me to Walmart and got me a Gameboy along with this game. I lost both of these a long time ago. I still remember the memories though.
One of the best games I used to own and play when I was 6. Sometimes I played it in my room, at my backyard, at the park, and sometimes during bedtime before school. I just never thought I was a luckiest kid to be part of this Nintendo hysteria back then.
That’s one of the best parts! Hearing the click of turning the power switch on, and then, in the dead of night with a light next to you, the logo shows up :)
Adding the voices from Donkey Kong 64 to the GBA series was one of the best decisions ever made in my opinion. This is probably why I’ll still play this over the SNES version.
25:47 Warping the level with style! Nice addition to this classic! To me it will be really worthy playing the entire game again to check the changes and additions to the gba version!!
I never played the gba version. I noticed how it didn't turn nighttime at the end of Jungle Hijinks or how it didn't stop raining and turn daytime at the end of Ropey Rampage like the SNES version. Limitations I guess. Still a solid looking game, nonetheless.
At least it rains in Ropey Rampage unlike the GameBoy Color version...it's also at night in the SNES original, in the GameBoy Advance it's just a rainy afternoon.
There was a part where he got kidnapped I forgot what part it was tho it was like him walking in the jungle and some creatures pulled up and kidnapped him
I remember when this first came out. I couldn't believe Nintendo would actually just up and release DKC on the GBA when they had literally released it on GBC years prior.
@Elliott Massaquoi I downloaded a GBA emulator called: ultragba.......... it is a very comfortable emulator, even playing the 3 donkey Kong country advance is not as tedious as in other emulators.
I love donkey Kong country for the snes and happy when I bought it for the gba sp they didn’t change it they did add some mini games to it but this game is great and the graphics are amazing for a snes game still a masterpiece.
For years, i didn’t liked the GBA version of DkC ,but recently i must admit that despites the overbrighted colors & zoomed in graphics, there’re some small improvements to it ,such as rotating DK letters, or you see dropping feathers when you kill those birds, or you see a frontground layers such as in the underwater levels, mine care levels, temple levels, and those jungle levels etc,,, also some bugs were fixed, also despites many sounds are not correct, especially in the music department with mostly incorrect instruments ,but i must say that there’re many new and extra sound effects wich are not only nice but it fits well to the game and/or they are of higher quality., i also must admit that i do like the animated zoomed in worldmap screens,, all these enhancements do makes me jalous why the snes version lacks all these extras, i first tout it coun’t be any better, but the GBA version proves me wrong .

I actually prefer the soundtrack of this over the SNES. Probably because of my bias for my love of full on music and against atmospheric music. (SNES focused heavily on atmosphere, GBA focused on music)

I had no idea this game existed. I don't think it's on any Wikipedia or Mario wiki lists that I've read. I just thought they had the donkey Kong land games for handheld.
All 3 Donkey Kong Country games were remade for GameBoy Advance, most with new stuff added extra, Donkey Kong Country 3 has a new soundtrack and a new world added in, this game and DKC 2 are much closer to the SNES originals.
I found my old GBA, it still works perfectly, and I bought the game on Aliexpress, but now I just can't get past the second level!... it was my favourite game back in the days, I just want to play it through! 😫😫😫

I swear this seemed like 4K back then
Only, it looked and sounded worse than the SNES original but still played the same.
