Either have to use a 1/2" rabbeting bit on a router around the mounting holes to drop it down or mount the speakers from the back. I didn't countersink these but it's enough space to screw them in from behind that piece

What type vinyl you use? And how you cut your plexiglass

Interior grade vinyl, same stuff they would use to do seats. I use a Dremel with a cut off wheels to cut the plexiglass to shape, just have to be careful not to crack it
