The high pitched squeaking was due to a new belt on the flywheel drive, it has gone now. The sound was never going to be great as I recorded this on my compact camera.
I do like the Class 139 People Parry Mover. And they have got the new West Midlands Railway livery on them as they are operated on the Stourbridge Town branch line.
a very simple but genial idea , this model of train colud be exported in italy where we have a lot of lines with a very little people moved , but wonderfull landscapes and views . bye and up!
bit of a bumpy ride ,, gas turbine i was told by the driver ,, i suppose they keep this bit of line open ,,but they will never offer a rapid service ,, ok for just A-B ,
These 2 trains 🚊 are the 1 single car class 139001 and 149002 are very tiny trains 🚊 because they’re used on the branch line routes from Stourbridge Town to Stourbridge Junction per day. The train 🚆 company LM - London Midland has been replaced by WMR - West Midlands Railway 🚃 since December 2017 perhaps 🤔. No toilets 🚽 on class 139s because they’re short journeys. 👍
Why not have a class 141 or the RB004 do the job instead of making this? The tech is already here... We just need to change the current vehicles we already have to new standards. It will reduce the number of vehicles that's going for scrap.
Must be so much better driving one of these Parry's on the rails then driving an Optare Solo or a Dennis Dart around road streets. No daft route diversions, no unessesary car traffic, don't have to worry about low bridges, none of this wing mirror or front bumper smashing from stupidly positioned bus shelters, and none of this "Drop us off 'ere drive" from drunken passengers. Or, if they do they'll fall and break their leg then roll over in pain straight onto the third rail and go bzzzzzzzt.
What an embarressment and a step back in time Its hasn't got any bogies for gods sake so it must give a shit ride. Think i'll be running for a bus if i see one of these approaching my local station.
The cutting edge of milk float technology.
Designed so as to make you appreciate Pacers more.
These things belong in theme parks as an absurdly slow method of transit for kids

RIP 153 1999 to 2009
They were hired on the Stourbridge Town line.
Top speed on the branch is 20 mph but top speed of the vehicle is 40 mph.

It beats walking and if it saves a branch line good idea
I think these were put on the rails on the line just after slam door stock.
The ride looks bad but that's only due to poor track condition.
Those trains are so cute
What's with the flashing head-board display? It seemed to affect both 139001 and 139002, although in each case, only one end...
Stephen Lawrence - Bit of a late reply, but it's the frame rate of the camera that affects it
Could be used for a through the week passenger service on preserved railways
That is exactly what John Parry used to say. The problem is finding someone to pay for it and subsidise it for years to come.

bye and up!
Funnily enough, I’m just on my way to see it as I am writing about it in next month’s Modern Railways.
Very good news.
I thought that the concept of cheaper teams in Britain was under threat because of that squeaking!
I think that is not the PPM, it is probably something to do with the video. Been on it today
What is the name of the background music
Very embarrassing, but I can’t remember. I think it was some copyright free music I downloaded.

LED displays and CCD cameras with digital shutters - they strobe.
15mph? I can cycle at over 20mph without needing to go downhill! makes me realise just how much I love pacers :) great vid :)
James Cleevely they can go faster than that lol. Just not allowed for health and saftey
Whoops, accidentally removed the first comment!
And 'teams' was supposed to be 'trams'!
what scale is this 00
New trains in 2009
@munocat the manufacturers are actually going to make an N gauge model themselves. so you can own your own real Parry People Mover!
It's the next pacer LOL

A good idea, but ahead of its time. To-day it is slow, absurd and ridiculous.

Worst Train in Britain it’s just a bus with train wheels
AKA railbus. The concept is nothing new although these rail buses are clearly more bus like than earlier ones.
