Work has been slow so my income is low. Stress is high!

- I knew this training phase would be a little challenging when it comes to my income, but it is starting to stress me out! It's definitely not going to cover rent for the month and that makes me uncomfortable. I really hate to spend my emergency fund, even though that's what it's there for!! But the spending anxiety is real.. Hopefully it won't come to it, but it would really be nice to work some more!
Debt paid off to date: $143,849.31 ($99,978.42 in principal, the rest in interest) 😮💨

I do hope things get back on track very soon for you. The stress is completely understandable and it will get better. Let the nature walks remove you from the situations and bring you some peace.
Thank you so much!!!❤️
You’re doing really really well. Transitions are extremely challenging. Don’t be too hard on yourself.
Thank you so much!!
It's tough going through tough financial times. I've donated plasma which can help cover day to day expenses like food and gas
Rachel, you’re going to get there! You have planned accordingly and you’ve got a good head on your shoulders. You’ve got a job… it’s just the in between phase that’s uncomfortable…
Sharing your channel with others! Let’s help Rachel get more views!
Also let's run the ads for Rachel!! It's not much but it's what I do to show my support.
Estelle, you are so sweet, thank you!!!! You're absolutely right, it's just that uncomfortable in-between!😄
Thank you so much, I appreciate that!!
I totally get what you're saying about your emergency fund. You work so hard to achieve it and when you have to use it It's upsetting to see the numbers go down. I had a really nice emergency fund but when my husband passed away almost 2 years ago I really had to start using it. I am thankful it was there and that even though it's a lot lower I don't know what I would have done or continue to do without it. I try to put something back in there every month but that's not always possible in today's economy.
Keeping my fingers crossed you get out on boats quickly. Hope you’ve better luck with next apartment 🤞🙏 I know it’s a bit unnerving dipping into the emergency fund but you know it’ll be short term. Did you hear anything bath yet from the other job? (Fish taxi) 🤭😂 Have a great week. Mary, Joes wife 🙇♀️👏💪👍🙏💐
You got this. As always, I love that beautiful scenery.
Thank you Cat!!😄
Keep sharing! We’re listening.
Greetings from Budapest.
Thank you for being here and being so kind!!
@@its.rachel.hickey It feels like I know you for a long time, and it also feels like you sitting right next to me, when you are talking about your life/problems.
Good Luck
Being on a low income allows you find your strengths so that when your income increases you can maintain the gap between income and spending. This is what allowed me to build a real estate portfolio on a low income.
So true!! It's always a good chance to reset!
@ChristineCircelli-go2yw my brother is on disability as well. While there are limits, you can still invest
When I move, I search 6 months in advance and always sign a lease at least 60 days in advance. Gives the landlord time to prep, and time to find and hire movers. You have to book movers 6+ weeks out here.
Wow, that's a long time in advance! That must help alleviate some of the "where am I moving next?!" anxiety. Around here, places are advertised maybe 60 days in advance so it can all become very last-minute.
@@its.rachel.hickey this market is very hot and has limited inventory, that’s why I start looking 6 months before I move. I am currently moving into a new house that took nearly 8 months to find. I rented a gap apartment while I searched for the right sfh
Hopefully, your new apartment search will work out and I hope that you get some more work soon.
Thank you!!
If this job continues to be slow, could you do another part time job?
It's a little hard since I would need to find something with as flexible as a schedule. As in, they would need to be okay with me not showing up if I do get a boat trip, and be okay with me showing up when I don't get a boat trip, all without any advance notice. I don't know if I explained that very well, but I hope it makes sense!
Happy Wednesday to you
I enjoyed watching your video
you are amazing
I love your channel
Oh my gosh, thank you so much!!!
You should try to sell your place. Take that money and you won’t be stressed. That’s what I didn’t.❤❤❤❤❤ either way, sending you good vibes
Thank you Amy, I appreciate you!! I definitely still have it on my mind!
Hi Rachel, I know things look kinda bleak right now. Things are shitty all over the place. I’m hoping the election this coming November will turn things around. Hang in there. As for me, I’m not able to work anymore and currently fighting the Social Security dept for my disability ( SSDI ) . My last employer was Boeing. 🥰
Thank you for sharing and I am wishing you the best of luck with everything!!!
How is the election. Going to turn things around? Sounds like you think a felon is going to do a magic trick
For the apartment, you can also use your rental income and UA-cam income probably:)
I'm thinking that as well!🤞
It’s understandable to be stressed but it will be ok. .
Thank you!!! Yes, it will ☺️
Rachel, I know that you are struggling with economic problems, but you are not alone. Many Americans like myself are having it very difficult to manage our monthly budgets in paying rent, food, healthcare and car. I personally don't think that you should stress out since you are already set with a job soon. For your information, I have several neighbors in my community with families and children who are unemployed and facing eviction or bankruptcy. One close neighbor is considering moving back with his parents.
It may not too early to look for an Aug 1st move in depending on location. If there's any universities nearby, things will go fast and be locked in ahead of time. If it's a summer time getaway town, then people come for the seasonal summer work which could dry up as fall hits and more options will then open up. Everything really depends on the location.
12 minimum sea days a month. So if you don't have the 12 days you're still paid out at the end of the month, right? So you at least know your bare minimum. Maybe you should only plan for that amount in your monthly budget plans and then any extra is icing on the cake.
Yes, location definitely can play into the rental market.
As for the job, I am only paid for whatever sea days I actually worked. So if I don't work the 12 days in a month, I will not be paid for them, I will only be paid for the number that I work. But yes, I am budgeting based on those minimum 12 days and just hope I hit at least that amount every month!
Things have been so hard. I know you've been struggling to save and try to get by with that job you have. Hang strong. I've been going through so much too with the new job. Things have been tough, biotech job market has been just difficult
Thank you so much Matt!! I hope you get through the new job turbulence swiftly and I really hope the new job is working out well otherwise! It's a mess out there.😵💫
What do you do?
I'm a commercial fisheries observer 🐟
Your job seems super average. Why not upskill and get another?.
She is underemployed because of the current economic market and already has “up skilled”.
I can not STAND being in nature ..boring
Sounds like you need a temporary part time job. You sound SUPER stressed.
Whining about your financial issues to the world - with everyone except the rich having financial struggles - is ridiculous.
U seem have great life compared to many many people so stop pity party u have so much be grateful sure u make money off u tube
If you don't know any empathy you shouldn't be here. She has every right (and is allowed!) to feel stressed.
Keep going Rachel. ❤
When you're using "u" and "r", we know you're a senseless troll 🧌. Let's see you make a video. Otherwise, you're just a keyboard warrior.
Please remove the nose ring. It really makes you appear unserious. As an employer, it tells them that you might not be the right fit for the job!
Seriously dude your comments are ridiculous 🤦
@@ykook7000 There's actually some truth to that. I've seen that happen multiple times where I work on who they hire.
I understand where you're coming from, but I can tell you right now that I would not fit in, nor do I WANT a job that would not hire me over a nose ring. That sounds like an incredibly corporate-driven, stuffy, pretentious and non-inclusive place to work and that's a no for me.
@its.rachel.hickey Well, itbappears you aren't a good fit for many positions. You aren't willing to adjust or be flexible to the environment of employment unless it's one that isn't serious like with young workers flipping burgers. If that's your stance, more power to you but, I can't think of a professional organization that will put up with it!
Are you married or are you one of those strong independent women? I ask because, married couples usually fare better in life!
OFC when you have 2 incomes it's easier financially ...what does "one of those" mean anyway in your comment
If a person is single regardless of gender living on one income that is Not guaranteed is hard!!
@ykook7000 Wow, you figured it out. Two incomes are better than one. "One of those" refers to the strong independent woman who "don't need a man." You've seen them. The ones sitting behind a camera on tic tok crying that they can't feed themselves or pay the rent!
Your two comments are rude. Rachel is a strong independent woman who doesn’t need to be married to have a great life!
@rachel.c.p Why would they be rude? It is a fact that two incomes are better than one and if laid off, one can support the other but, a feminist mindset says, men aren't needed. Being a strong independent woman usually means that you are alone, poor, homeless and miserable! ua-cam.com/video/GqorVQuAIUo/v-deo.htmlsi=oGafyfA-2sZdyP2g
Not always 😂
Hang in there! Your in a in between place but it all will smooth out. Once your income stabilizes, you will be able to rebuild your savings. So try not to get too stressed. You got this!♥️♥️♥️♥️
Thank you SO much!!❤️
