He was particularly superb 2015-2018. Very assured at the world cup 2015, England imploded when he went off. Also showed how much he was missed in 2018 when he went off injured against Italy. As much as people love Danny Care, the service when he started was outrageously slow and stayed that way all tournament. He's definitely an all rounder and not the mercurial talent of Dupont or the amazing fizz pass of Aaron Smith, but a balanced player on the whole.
Great poacher and, when on top form, he’s one of the best. Could always snipe around the sides of the ruck to exploit the gaps but he has a horrible knack of picking the ball up from the base of a ruck, taking 3 steps and then just throwing it away, killing all momentum. It’s weird because he’s a great player but I wouldn’t even have him in the top 20 of players that should have amassed 100 caps, never mind being the record holder.
Benny continues to attract negative comments, lord knows why, 20 odd tried in 115 appearances is a pretty good return, and for me he has been the best of his generation.
I mean Yh he was definitely the best of his generation within England mainly cause up until about two years ago him and Danny care were the only good nines in England for about a decade
@@billbonnington7916 Youngs has only had the international career he has BECAUSE of Eddie Jones. Any other coach since 2015 would not have valued him as highly as EJ has.
@@mushimi_ you need a scratch. And then have a look at Benny's career to date. You're being disingenuous in the extreme to one of rugby's best 9's of this generation. ua-cam.com/video/U8s0wBZWKrg/v-deo.html
Enterprising (and I'm tempted to say greedy) in the best of ways! You can afford to be hoggish when if your completion rate is as high as the highlight reel :D!!!
great career well done and more importantly good family man. As a side note Andrew these montages always give a good indication of how rugby has progressed or teams have progressed over the past 15 years or so. especially that six nations tries one you did the other day with 5 or so from each team. This one really makes you think that england have wasted chances at world cups with the squads they have had which obviously culminated in the shock of 2015. it makes me think of common denominator- when did england last win WC? 2003. what happened that year- grand slam. new zealand- what did they do during 2009-2015? relentlessly won. winning test matches breeds winning test matches under pressure. If you dont have the player pool you dont have the player pool- so it doesnt really matter if they peak at X Y or Z time (sounds counterintuitive but due to injuries etc you can never be 100% sure of a squad). so build a test match squad that just does NOT KNOW HOW TO LOSE and this will stand you better in a world cup as opposed to fixating upon peaking on a cycle of every four years. England very much now know how to lose and this mentality starts with EJ he has happy with losing if it suits the long run (WC trophy) but i would suggest that is necessarily only achievable with building that psychology of every time a team gets on the pitch for a test match we will literally not know how to lose. (All blacks time and time again, england 03). just a thought whilst im on the bus. Cheers for the vids Andrew take care
South Africa were in good form going into the 2019 world cup but they did lose a few, including one of the pool games. 2007 they also didn't win the Tri Nations. They did have players that won super rugby that year. The all blacks' players won super rugby trophies consistently. Indeed, England's Saracens players won the European cup in 2019 and so were in very good form going into RWC. There does seem a connection with players being successful at club, doing well, and that translating to international. The ideal scenario is experienced internationals having successful club culture and wins under their belt, and then being picked and prepared for the world cup.
I reckon you want a set of players who expect to win absolutely, but maybe more importantly you want a set who, in defeat, are willing to do the soulsearching about why they lost and how they come back. new zealand weren't undefeated in that era, and i don't really agree that there's such a thing as "not knowing how to lose".
Crackin player and well deserving of this tribute and hopefully plenty more caps for his collection well done Mr Youngs and Mr Forde
I love this tribute. It shows that Youngs isn’t just a ‘tap and go’ try scorer.
Thanks Ben! You are some player, a real credit.
great vid again mate

Awesome how many of these came from dummies that fooled the cameraman as well as the players
Great player, but ultimately kicks way too much
Brilliant player but he is past it
Such a deserving holder of the title of most capped player, but now I think its time he steps aside and lets Randall and Quirke come through.
THE most underrated player in world rugby, maybe Adam Beard but Youngs is world class
Best scrum half of very time , he is better than dupont
Bro just no
