Hey Hayden, loved your old FJ but your new one is pretty sweet looking. Glad to see you back behind the wheel of an FJ again. Look forward to more videos. Cheers
Pretty cool video. Only criticism would be that you are comparing a newer Toyota to all much older jeeps. Mind you the bone stock jeep seemed to handle everything the Toyota did that has modifications done
You are correct, for it to be a TRUE versus comparison they should have been the same or more similar year with the same or comparible mods, but oh well! Still entertaining to watch 👍
Brandon Grammes see id agree if it was a wrangler from 2007-2011. But those 4.0L engines are as reliable as anything Toyota has ever built. Plus it’s an older YJ, they are pretty simple machines
4.0 AMC engine lasts 300-500k miles easily with. Basic maintenance. It's a hard call. The old jeeps were excellent. The new pentastar jeeps though... ewwww.
I'd say the jeeps won but the 4-runner at the end looked like it did the best but he was pressed a lot harder on the gas than the person driving the jeep so that helped a little and looked really cool
Let me see if I got the takeaway here: A bone stock 25-year-old YJ with shit street tires that the owner probably got for less than $5k can go anywhere a modified FJ that cost ridiculously way way more can go. That about sum it up?
Thereisnotry Haha pretty much! We called that little Jeep "the Goat" cuz it just went everywhere no prob! Now a days though is it pretty much unrecognizable from what it was here, the owner has really gone to town with modding it since how can one resist? Haha it has a V8 now and is repainted with nice big tires and a lift. And with all those mods it probably still costs less than the FJ does stock! But it is all just a matter of preference, everyone knows a Jeep is more affordable but I just love FJs, and that's why I drive one. :)
I totally disagree with you all the trucks performed well and even a stock 100000 Mercedes G wagon or a 80k range rover could have done it. What's the point here? People are basically having fun
those were mall crawlers FJ'S , one had big wheels and tiny tires with a bunch of fancy clean mods, the other had decent tires but a bunch of flashy aesthetics done and thats it, this is probably the first time they have taken them offroading
David Derber No, you can modify it so you dont get any rub, ei: body mount chop, adjust caster forward to about 3 degrees, add a lift, possibly add wheel spacers. But yeah it did look mean!
+David Derber they come with like 31.5" tires so it takes more modifying to get larger ones on there. Not too much is required for like 33s but 35s become tricky
well its pretty obvious the jeep owners didnt care about harming the cheap basic jeeps, unlike the Mall Crawler FJ's, they were to scared to do anything
my God..that Fj just went through the terrain like nutella smoothed over hot bread...
Indeed it did!
Nice video, i really like the FJ Cruiser, i just love it
Thanks! Same here!
Hey Hayden! That is one BEAUTIFUL FJ.
Thanks a ton! I appreciate it! I do miss this FJ but luckily it has a new good home!

Thanks! I hope the new one can handle what I throw at it! I'm sure it will.
That stock open diff wrangler was doing work.
Yeah it was great! It made it all look easy. You can definitely tell it was built for this terrain
FJ rocks
JULIUS K
all [%h and
I agree!
at 5:00min...where's the 4Runners? finally at 6:40min...wasn't pretty, but it made it up...love those 3rd gens!
Love the fj, the driver did a great job!
Thanks! I tried my best! Haha
Nice, Nice. thanks for sharing
Thanks! And of course!
stock yj killed it
great video
Thanks! Hope you enjoy the more recent videos I make even more!
Nice!

Ken Drost laughable
You are correct, for it to be a TRUE versus comparison they should have been the same or more similar year with the same or comparible mods, but oh well! Still entertaining to watch 👍
Both are very capable vehicles. It's very hard to compare who is better at offroad. It is likely to come down to reliability.
Then the fj takes it

@brandongrammes1883 wrong... thats an old 4.0 AMC engine... not chrystler junk.
What coil springs are you running in the FJ? seems to flex well.
It was just the OEM suspension that came on the TRD Special Edition along with a spacer lift.
I'd say the jeeps won but the 4-runner at the end looked like it did the best but he was pressed a lot harder on the gas than the person driving the jeep so that helped a little and looked really cool
You gotta get an H1 and Defender in there to...
FJ is the cats meow
I have to agree with ya there!
is the yj stock ???
Bone stock!
yep, a stock jeep can make it threw a lot more then people think.
And the FJ is clearly the supreme ass kicker over the rest with Cherokee coming in last.
The FJ would be my top pick too, not only for capability but also for comfort!
dream on, son
체게바라꺼는 왜 안보여요?
💙fj
My thoughts too!

@@carholic-sz3qv you are right, essentially it is all about having a good time out there and being safe while driving whatever you like best!
Why did the Toyota drive so cautious?
I think you're confusing not having to break a sweat and try hard with being cautious.
those were mall crawlers FJ'S , one had big wheels and tiny tires with a bunch of fancy clean mods, the other had decent tires but a bunch of flashy aesthetics done and thats it, this is probably the first time they have taken them offroading
Black 'all pro sticker' FJ needs to air down, and maybe get some beefier tires. It didn't perform nearly up to its potential.
Yeah he later upgraded to 35s on 17" wheels and I believe they were Goodyear Wrangler MT/Rs so he made a big jump in tire/wheel performance haha
35's on an FJ? That's gotta look pretty mean! does he get a lot of tire rub?
David Derber No, you can modify it so you dont get any rub, ei: body mount chop, adjust caster forward to about 3 degrees, add a lift, possibly add wheel spacers.
But yeah it did look mean!
lol I drive a Jeep, I just thought FJ's usually come with a little smaller tires? Like 30-31"(ish?)
+David Derber they come with like 31.5" tires so it takes more modifying to get larger ones on there. Not too much is required for like 33s but 35s become tricky
Id say the jeep YZ and TJ wins... considering the FJ costs 5 times more and has to crawl so much slower.
FJ's front look remind of ... a crab
Retro 68 thanks? haha
fjs are cool but jeeps are monsters
Vote for fj
Jeep
why are you driving so slow going down? geez...
Wrangler going the most comfortable here.
well its pretty obvious the jeep owners didnt care about harming the cheap basic jeeps, unlike the Mall Crawler FJ's, they were to scared to do anything
ONLY IN A JEEP
