Let's see what is involved.. Should be simple! :) The radio: www.team-blacksheep.com/products/prod:ethix_mambo The Module: www.team-blacksheep.com/products/prod:tbs_mpm Converion kit: www.team-blacksheep.com/products/prod:cf_microtx_conkit
I would expect something different then this kind of one way conversion. At least they offer a solution but I guess many would prefer a different style to use it on both kind of radios.
a different option would have been the Converter BetaFPV offers.. I didn't want an extra link in the chain myself, but something like that would be an option I guess?
Awesome review, dude! Really nice! 😃 But be ready: Express LRS is probably going to replace a lot of stuff. Not Crossfire and others, of course, but D8? Definitely. Maybe even D16! Anyway, stay safe there with your family! 🖖😊
Thank as always brother :) it WILL be interesting to see what ELRS will 'do' in the market.. it will depend in part on RTF companies to make BNF versions for it...
As for the sticky throttle on your Tango 2, have you tried playing around with the tension of the springs on the gimbals? Tightening them up might fix the issue!
thanks for the input man! and yes.. I have replaced the springs And removed the screws that limit the throws.. I did like smaller throws, but I have now basically removed the stickyness :)
Picked up a tbs mpm and did the conversion so it fit into my Mambo (Thanks for the video!). I have a question though. How do you update the mpm with the,e Mambo radio?
you're welcome :) I use the combi every day almost... You update the TBS modules apart from the radio's.. So you connect the module's USB to your computer and then update it with TBS Agent X (or Agent M? both work).. isn't hard to do but there are video's about that job :)
How did you get your kickstand to not flop around? I just received mine today and the kickstand is a big disappointment. It’s almost like it was an afterthought. If mine is not in it’s closed position it has no tension.
have you maybe build it with the ball-bearings on the INside? Mine does have a Little bit of play which I should be able to solve with thin pieces of battery-anti-slip.. In fact that will also give the feet a bit of grip on a car roof.. But the kickstand should kinda 'click' shut..
As i await the arrival of my Mambo today, this is EXACTLY what i’ve been interested to learn. As of January 31, 2022, are you still using this combination?
add this on my to do list... unfortunately I'll never get to it... Waiting For Mango or Tambo with ELRD Crossfire and Tracer... one clean package, Tango2 build and compact, Mambo Screen and fit in hand...
I',m not sure how usefull that would be (?) it seems on par with other MPM's but a field-test could say more about how good/bad I mounted the antenna on my quad... or wether there is/isn't a lot of interference
yes.. in fact: I have a crossfire module for this radio which is kinda my backup for crossfire.. Works super easy.. just select "crossfire" as external TX and away you go :)
Dang just got mine and went to flash latest firmware and now its bricked. Bootloader mode doesn't work either. After flashing new firmware it doesn't power up. Seems like am not alone. This radio is like a ticking time bomb...
@@FlyturboKwad well great (not) :S I need mine to review a few quads these weeks, so I'll just stick with the firmware I have on it :$ On to TBS's support then I think?

You know jumper makes a module that would’ve fit? It’s much cheaper too. I have it on my Ethix mambo
@@biscuitsforbreakfast460 yes true.. I'm not that stoked about Jumper (mostly their support) lately so i decided to keep the radio all-TBS..
@@DutchRC I hear that

I hope so. I'm using it in my tx 16s. Best radio for me would be mambo with elrs and multiprotocol for my whoops
@@krushpl And there are already AIO whoop boards with ELRS, so... 😃
The future is looking great, dude!

How do you repair the switch in this radio? I see that your's broken already.
I'll be making a video about my repair (wish me luck :P) ..
my Mambo came like this: ua-cam.com/video/0wU40Ex-8qQ/v-deo.html
@@DutchRC great. I heard the switches are soldered so it will be a long video
@@krushpl yeps.. soldered in place :) Might be educational to shop people how to repair something like that :)

@@DutchRC thank was my question too, thank you for the heads up
It would be nice if they came out with the CrossFire version of Mambo and use the module bay for Multi-Protocol.
Yep.. I'd have one of those as well..
Not gonna happen though I think because TBS want to get Tracer out there
Thanks for the video. Radiomaster 2,4ghz 4in1 Module has the right form factor. Can I use that one in my Mambo?
Thank You for stopping by :) and yes.. that shouldn't be a problem at all.. would work the same way

never say never :D (or build one yourself) it shouldn't be impossible to hack an ELRD module Into a Mambo radio?
could u do a range test with this module? thanks

Is het ook mogelijk om een ELRS module te bevestigen?
ja zeker!

Very good video 👍👌🔝
Thanks Filipe! Highly appreciated bro :)
we're is this sd card slot for the mambo?
it's IN the radio.. you need to take the back off to get to it (not really intended to be taken out I guess)
Would an ExpressLRS module work with this transmitter?
it should work as a Crossfire module? But i can't speak from experience.. I don't have ELRS stuff
Can you do this the same way with crossfire
yes.. in fact: I have a crossfire module for this radio which is kinda my backup for crossfire.. Works super easy.. just select "crossfire" as external TX and away you go :)
ps: oeps.. maybe you ment if you can make a JR style from a micro crossfire module this way: yep.. that housing is identical
nice job
Thank you very much :)
could u please do a range test??
always a bit debatable (you fly in different conditions) BUT:
how would you imagine that test to be executed?
