R.I.P. MR. TOM T. HALL!!! YOU'LL BE SORELY MISSED BY ALL OF THE "COUNTRY MUSIC CLASSIC" FANS! THANKS FOR ALL OF THE MANY MEMORIES YOU MADE WITH YOUR TALENT OF WRITING SONGS. I BELIEVE THAT YOU POSSIBLY CHANGED THE COURSE OF COUNTRY MUSIC, WITH YOUR SONGS. MAY "GOD" RICHLY BLESS YOUR BEAUTIFUL WIFE, AND YOUR ENTIRE FAMILY AT THIS TIME OF GRIEVING AND LOSS!!! 1936-2021. HE WAS 85 YEARS OLD. HE DIED 8-20-21.
First WWVA quit country, then Jamboree in the Hills went away, and now The Story Teller is gone. Country Music just died many deaths but this one hurts the worst. He was the heart of Jambo for many a year. I may miss you sir but I still got your music and thats enough.
I am a big fan of this gifted Artist. Met him briefly in 1978 in Star Lake , NY, and exchanged letters with him one time later. I wrote a song to honor him after hearing of his death. He is greatly missed .
Wow, Tom. I wish I had gotten to know you personally. Daddy always talked about you like a little brother. Said he went to school with you and you lived with his family for awhile in Olive Hill Kentucky. I wonder if you knew he passed away in 1982. I know he was proud of you. He was Earl Frank Clark. A Hillbilly in the greatest sense of the word.
Dixie Hall you are missed....miss Dixie and Tom T. I cry for music and writing of these two wonderful artist....thank you so much for you’re gifts to us through song 😇

My Air Force roommate, Stanton E. Sharp, claimed to be Tom T's cousin. I got a chance to talk to Stan's mother when she called the dorm one day. She said actually, SHE was Tom's cousin. Her name was Wilma Hall. I wish I could find Stan's grave in Keenen West Virginia. I searched two cemeteries there a few years back, but to no avail.
My niece and nephew sat on stage with some other kids while Tom T. Hall sang his song “Old Dogs & Children & Watermelon Wine”. If I remember correctly, it was on Nashville Now.
I started out a young man , now an old man with no hair. If I dont see yall here, ................... I'll 4 sure see yall THERE! :) Herb ------> A Song "RIGHTER!" :)
as we morn, we can be comforted by the the thought that He's With The Lord Now I don't understand why there are things down votes. Something Tells Me That those responses are computer generated. they're bots. why would a person who's not a country fan be on this page or any other pages like it in the first place. They had a couple up until the late 80's...right where the plaza is for the new courthouse.
Such is life...they are tearing down all the old buildings in my little old hometown as well...
