Every time I try something like this I end up back where I started, CLion + the ST's CubeMX to get started (and maybe platform.io). These ST chips can do DMA for the ADC converters, for example, good luck using these peripherals in python. Even for simpler stuff... like reading a fast encoder using hardware interrupts, it gets complicated or just impossible. The PyBoard itself looks pretty nice, I guess you can always go bare metal when you need it

Nice..Can it run more than one sketch at a time? Does it have a magnetometer on it?
I was looking for something to make for a beam antenna to tell which way it is pointing and at what angle.👍

Hi Eric! Have you checked out CircuitPython? Loads of documentation available on Adafruit's learning guide!

Heya Johnny. Ya I have looked a few ties but I thought it was a condensed version of MicroPython more for education environments. Perhaps I missed the obvious though

It is tailored for the educational market as it is sponsored by Adafruit, but I wouldn't call it condensed. The big thing is that they have libraries for most of their breakout boards, that is as you use to say "really handy".

I think the accelerometer must be a circuit on the board. Those things are NOT typically part of the STM32 processor. Still, a 12 dollar F4 board with an accelerometer does sound like something fun to play with. Is there a gyro? a magnetometer?
    Apparently not. Just the accelerometer.
