- We tasked Ian Russell with returning to a carp fishing venue he hadn’t seen in some 10 years, to see if he could slip the net under some of the now much larger residents.
The Islands Carp Fishery is a 4-acre lake located on Barrow Street, near Mere in Wiltshire. It was opened to anglers in 2010 and has quickly become a popular destination for carp anglers from all over the UK.
This carp fishery in Wiltshire was painstakingly planned and designed to offer an abundance of features in every peg while minimising 'my water' conflict between anglers, the lake contains no fewer than 6 islands and 12 spits, shaped and positioned in such a way that each of the 12 swims has its secluded bay.
The lake is generously stocked with around 350 beautiful carp, all sourced from Tony Campbell's bio-secure fish farm. These carp typically weigh in the mid to high double digits, and there is a healthy population of fish exceeding 20 pounds. Furthermore, the lake boasts several known thirty-pounders, with the current record standing at an impressive 36 pounds and 1 ounce. This means there's a good chance of landing a truly remarkable catch!
The Islands Carp Fishery is a challenging lake to fish, but it is also a very rewarding one. The carp are well-conditioned and fight hard, making them a great prize for any angler.

After fishing islands for a while Iv found the ducks don’t bother the carp at all I had so many bites while ducks have been diving or seconds after they stop.

Its miles from Warminster. The nearest Wiltshire town is Mere and the next closest town is my town Gillingham Dorset. Other than that great enjoyable video. :) :)

can you answer a question please it says most if not all swims are double swims is there enough room in each swim for 2 anglers fishing 2 rods as son and i go together and cook together i understand the £5 if we had 2 swims how far are they apart thanks in advance
Hi yes, on the main lake and the smaller cabin lake all swims are double’s and you get a cheaper ticket (limited to 2 rods each) when adding 2 anglers into 1 double swim. I hope you and your son have a good time there its a great fishery.
@@timprice7775 thanks so much i thought as much but wanted to be sure not sure when going but we have wanted to try it out for some time just had 72hrs on rush lake at coking son had 3 i ran out of time lol getting good at camping though thanks again
@@TrevTurnerI used to fish Rush Lake when it wasn't Rush. Was always a great lil pleasure feeder lake. What's it like now a days as a specimen lake ?
@@bensmith5231 are you talking about rush lake at coking farm complex. if so not the easiest now was talking to one of the bailiffs who fishes it only had 26 fish in 13 sessions

Why does gocatch charge £5 more if on your own because your occupying a double swim fucking rip these fisheries earn enough out of fishermen
