He reminds me of my husband of 47 years. Dedicated, faithful, committed and strong as a rock, despite my challenges with bipolar disorder. Makes me love my guy even more (if possible).

'if she cheated, or passed away'
You get country music now, my dude.. there's always a story, and being someone who has been depressed and suicidal before - this will forever bring me to tears. Beautiful voice, beautiful message.. you can't save everyone, even if it's those closest to you.

My fiancee comitted suicide in 2015. She was suffering from borderline- and bipolar disorder. I can really relate to this song and video. We had happy and passionate times, and sometimes she released hell on me. But fire away. I was never afraid.

I attempted suicide on 9/10/18. I left 3 notes, one for my husband, my mom and my son. I'm only here by God's grace and my husband's quick actions. They told him I wouldn't make it but somehow, I did. And now in my arms is my little miracle and he reminds me every day that he is my miracle and that me being here is a miracle. I'm truly blessed because sometimes, no matter how much you're loved, you still feel lost. I still struggle with my mental illnesses every day but I'm in a much better place now than I could have ever dreamed of. Thank you for this video and the reaction. It means a lot.

chris is a generational talent. i'm not a country fan, but his music pulls at your soul. good music bridges gaps and reminds us that we're so much more alike than we are different. we're all in this together..

From one veteran to another I appreciate your reaction to this. The words as well tell the story from the perspective of a person who loves someone with mental illness. He'll take whatever shes going through and stick it out with her. There is a "The making of Fire Away" on youtube where the director, actor and Chris sit down and talk about the message of this video. Powerful stuff. Thank-you for doing this.

This is something I struggle with and feel it would be so easy to end the pain and fear. It's even harder when you get to watch the love of your life being slowly taken away by illness and being powerless to stop it. I also know firsthand how it feels to lose a friend that way. I don't plan on checking out but I would be lying if I said it doesn't cross my mind.

It’s different from situational depression. I think the website up is for awareness and has resources. Great reaction!

I’m subscribing because you take one GIANT STEP above all the reviews I’ve seen because you are the ONLY ONE to put up the Suicide Hot Line #! I was shaken to my soul watching this, very much like you. It’s a very stark and emotional video that pleads and begs to reach out and say to tells friends and family with mental health conditions that there’s immediate HELP and support organizations ready to step up. it shook me up! I know people who are fighting this battle right now and I hope and pray this will help them to take that step . All of my family and friends are precious to me and I can’t imagine life without a single one of them. Your review was spot on and your words prompted the viewer to get help right away.

I've watched this video over and over, because it resonates with me, and my depression. It actually makes me sad to see people request other songs in the comments from your reaction to this song. Apparently, they've never dealt with depression, anxiety or love for your fellow man. My comment isn't passive aggressive. It's straight on FU, to those who can't sit down and grieve for folks who struggle with day to day life.

Not all mental illness is based on situational circumstances. Chronic mental illness is a life long battle, and while there are ways to reduce those highs and lows, it’s always there. I was misdiagnosed for 11 years and treated with the wrong meds. When you are especially mistreated it can make things 100 times worse. It’s not about a choice at that point, it’s not being in your right mind. It’s an incredibly complex issue to manage and get under any semblance of control. We need more understanding and less shaming.

I'm 54 and I've already gone thru more and clawed my way back more than small towns of people combined have and now everyone that I thought were my people have thrown me away. Bf threw me away after tiring of my inability to pull myself out of this and left me homeless, carless no money and no family since the son I gave my soul to raise without struggle has forsaken me because at 28 I stopped paying for EVERYTHING and he was going to be a father 5 years later I don't know my granddaughter my son a couple times a year asks for money and knows how bad off I am but none care and I'm too tired before starting school I was molested but every male member of my family and at 15i left and never spent another night under that roof. I raised a son that graduated top 1% of his state from college and sacrificed my being to be thrown away and I'm 54 and to tired and not hurting others is why I've stayed and now I realize they really don't care and I'm unable to breath so why spare them and die slowly? I'm just too tired to claw from nothing again, I don't know but thank Chris Stapleton he really did hold me off long as I could wait to just stop talking oxygen from others that's only a waste.
