hey I dont think the ship you mentioned at 5:03 is a Bestoon Legacy but I think its a Lancer Class Pursuit Craft

Those gloves are probably Cassian’s because it is implied that he regularly works as a scrapper
I think it might be his adopted father who was hung
The gloves also may have belonged to Cassian’s foster dad, who was executed.
Noticed that Kenari is listed as prohibited because of a mining accident by the Empire, which is the same cover story Vader uses to explain why Jedha exploded. Makes me think 'mining accident' is imperial code for 'shady shit'.
Anything with “accident” probably isn’t an accident when it comes to the Empire
Mining disaster is how the Empire explained the destruction of Jeddah. Perhaps an early weapons test of the Death Star laser system before it was installed on the Death Star was used on this other world? If it was used to kill his world, it provides more hefty to Cassian wanting to stop it in Rogue One.
The score in this series is bloody beautiful

I have to say, not giving Kassa and his tribe subtitles is a total Lucas move. I love it!
I thought this touch added a bit more of an authentic feel to the scenes, like we were watching a documentary.
I love that with how high-tech and super advanced they are, they still have trencher excavators like us.
The ship at 5:01 is a Lancer-class Pursuit Craft. One is used by Sabine's friend Ketsu Onyo in Rebels.
I would recognize that ship anywhere because I played a pilot in a Star Wars TTRPG and that was my ship.
Fondor also had a recent appearance in Battlefront II as a major imperial shipyard!

In Legends, Fest was a planet that Kyle Katarn visited in the original Dark Forces (1995) It was an Imperial weapons research facility that was working on the Dark Troopers.
And Cassian has the same weapon he had. Kyle being Very much a basis for Andor
Think I saw one of those facilities in another game
6:49 - The name of Cassian's former girlfriend Femi is a nod to Femi Taylor who played the Twi'lek dancer Oola in Return of the Jedi, and also reprised the role for additional shots added to the Special Edition.
It’s interesting that the crashed ship is a Separatist ship. Since doesn’t Cassian imply in Rogue One that he fought against the Authoritarian force of the Galactic Republic during the Clone Wars?

I think that crash happened before the clone wars. At that time, the separatist planets were part of the republic. The clone wars started soon after.
@@live2walk but they’re wearing the Separatist sigil. And the weren’t Separatists until they “separated.” So before that, they wouldn’t be using that sigil.
@@BlyatBlaster That symbol could have been in use on planets that would later form the separatists. Maybe it's originally a company symbol. The Separatists would have adopted it later. All symbols come from somewhere. But at this time, those wearing this symbol would be in the Republic.
It could be that all the adults were wiped out in a labor dispute. The Old Republic was very corrupt and an effort at organizing the mining laborers may have been tamped down violently, similar to (but much worse than) the labor wars of the late 19th century and early 20th century of the US.
Crash did happen before the clone wars
Fest is important because the novel Rebel Rising established that Cassian WAS born there, making this "retcon" of Cassian bring from Kaneri more of a secret from even the reader! A clever way to "change" canon
Fest was also created for the old Dark Forces game so , like the Bryar pistol, links Cassian to Kyle Katarn , the original Rebel superspy

Just watched episode 3 and the ending gave me goosebumps..
I thought the gong/bell thing might be beskar too! The strange ringing it made sounded like when Din hit the beskar spear against his beskar vambrace indicating this type of metal resonates uniquely.
Damn!! That's a lot of Beskar. I'd be chipping bits off for Mando's forger.🔥⚒🔥

@@SK4M_Freal Yeah, the sheer expense of that much Beskar makes me very doubtful. That banding is due to layers of metal with different carbon content being forged together, the effect can be seen in Damascus steel or traditional Japanese swords (hamon).
To be honest? It was probably made from scrap, melted down and forged together in layers, creating that distinctive pattern from the various metals it was formed from.

FYI: the Bantha Toy is an obscure call back to the game Star Wars Galaxies, It was loot you could use to decorate your house within the game.
The Y-Wing in the shipyard has no engines because they were pulled off and attached to the ship Cassian used to escape Morlani.

Loved the Snowspeeder in the ship yard across from the Y Wing. Lots of drops in this one.
Funny how other Star Wars content creators are saying there are no Easter eggs in this because they happen to hear a piece of news a month or two ago saying that. Yet, this is the third video I have seen pointing out so many different things.
Most of what people consider to be easter eggs in this video are really just world building details though.
The blue and white ship in the shipyard looks like a Lancer-class Pursuit Craft, like Ketsu Onyo's Shadow Caster or Asajj Ventress' Banshee.
I KNEW it was the Bryar Pistol as soon as I saw it, such a good nod and first time on the screen in canon (not counting Battlefront) I still kind of miss the bolts being yellow instead of red, but it is still awesome seeing it and it being Cassian's weapon.
I watched Chernobyl earlier this year, it's a must-see series! Thanks for pointing everything out!
Cassian dragging himself over the log is a sign that he's inexperienced. When trekkers encounter a log, they always step onto the log and jump off to avoid the possibility of getting bitten by any animals under the log.
I love the Dark Forces games and Jedi Outcast so I was delighted to see the Bryar pistol.
OMG, I thought I recognized the gun Cassian carries at the end but couldn't place it. The Bryer pistol. So cool since the Dark Forces Kyle Katarn games are some of my favorite games ever. I so want Kyle Katarn to become canon somehow. But, now, at least his gun is.
The footage was from the Jedi Knight games though, right? I expected a shout-out to those gems.

NOTE! The rebels didn't start using Y Wings for at least another year or 2 following this.. As we see the crew of the Ghost acquiring the last of them just before the empire destroys them.. Rebels starting 4 bby

The corpo guys might have been in hyperspace doing a longer in-system jump. They don't necessarily need to be in separate systems
They’re just in a bigger hurry, with more hyperspace fuel available to them.
I think I’d lean toward those gloves being Cassian’s father’s rather than hers.
The ship beside the Ghost model is the same model as the ShadowCaster from Rebels.
It is funny that he calls the detective Dwight Schrute because he gave me Gabe from the office vibes. You know from "Saber".
I love how when Luthen Rael's ship approaches the planet it has to right itself to prepare for entry. It's so unrealistic that all ships in SW shows/movies are always facing the same way up when they converge together or out of hyperspace.
The death star was facing upside down in Rogue one when it destroyed Jedha city 🤷♂️

I don't know if you mention it in your part 3 video but those troopers at the crash site were not separatist. They were Republic troops posing as separatists in part 3 they mention that the guys killed were Republic officers. More than likely the ship was a false flag operation carrying a biological weapon or at least a toxin that got shot down. The Republic and the separatist Alliance were known to do some really shady things towards the end of the war in which they try to frame each other for horrible ecological disasters
I belive the yellow smoke was actually their atmoshere, hence the yellow skin. That is why they need breath mask because they can't breathe regular atmosphere.
@@AdyAero I assume they were wearing masks because they were transporting toxic chemicals. Their skin didn't look natural yellow it looked like they were poisoned

Actually I’m pretty sure the purge on Mandalore is during the oh trilogy since we see Mandalore on Season 4 of ‘Rebels’ which is after this.
Also, in The Book of Boba Fett the armorer mentioned Boo-Karen´s illegitimate rule and general loss of the way of the Mandos as the reason why they were "cursed" and lost their planet, which also puts The Night of 1000 Tears after the events in Rebels.

Fest is also featured in Star Wars: Rogue Squadron on the Nintendo 64. It's a rescue mission if I remember correctly. I thought it was Hoth at first and was disappointed that it wasn't lol I guess there's more than one snowy planet in that galaxy far far away.

I had so many questions about this episode. Mostly, did anyone else have Mando-vibes with the bell ringer. It made me think of the Armorer. Is there a correlation? Was that a Beskar bell he rang?? Was there once a planet of Beskar that was mined???

That’s what a massive strip mine looks like here on Earth. As they dig down deeper, it leaves step like terraces. It’s the most exploitive way imperialism strips minerals from smaller, less advanced countries. It utterly destroys and devastates the environment. Poisons it. So yeah it looks like a mining disaster, but I’m sure if there was anything of value left they wouldn’t have abandoned the mining operations for no reason.
Not only imperialism in smaller, less developped countries. We managed to do that to ourselves in some parts of my country (Czechia). There are surface mines like that one in Andor, several kilometers long, mostly near the western border with Germany.

Interesting correction - Fest did not first appear in the Rogue One materials. It was introduced in Rogue Squadron for N64 back in the late nineties

To be honest, having watched until episode 3, the Kenari flashbacks make no sense. CIS agents are called Republic officers. A planet deserted in the Republic era is mentioned to be deserted due to an Imperial accident. Andor said he was in the fight since 6 years old, yet he's clearly at least 12 in the flashbacks and doesn't seem to be a Rebel by any means. Besides, Fiona Shaw kidnapping Kassa is questionable at best.
There's something interesting going on here with accents. They're not upper-class English accents that many of the Empire officers had, but Scottish and working-class accents.
