One of the best songs of all times! They dont sing songs like this anymore. This is classic, simple and to the point. There is someone this song goes out to now and probably forever. Donna Fargo ROCKS!
I remember the day I heard this song for the first time. I had to pull my car over to the side of the road. I couldn't believe someone was singing my heart. So very true at the time, but that was yesterday, wasn't it, so better left alone. Thank you , Donna Fargo! Evie
When Elvis passed. There wasn't any Tribute songs to him. I heard this late one Morning on Chicago's WLS, Radio. On Elvis week, they'd call it W-Elvis. This is a tear-jerker for me, as an Elvis fan. Thank You for this BEAUTIFUL song! Also, for LOVING YOU and the "w-o-r-d-s", so MAGNIFICENT for Elvis! Thank You Donna. WISC. fan
This has always been my favorite Donna Fargo song. I remember it very well, 1977, that girl I sat beside in Algebra class. The one I was so in love with, but, never thought she'd be interested in me. So, I never said anything, and later found out just before we graduated that she WAS interested in me. But, it was too late, we all went different directions after school and I haven't seen her since Aug. 1983. I always think of her when I hear this song.
How true to life!! - In Prince Rupert, 1978 - A song that can never leave my mind - nor the person to whom it relates, C. T. from Ontario. The words are perfectly accurate, precise, and embedded with the strongest, sincerst feelings and expressions. "That was Yesterday!!"
Yes this is a classic & I believe we all have that someone we all would love to say this to. It's a very special song to me & always will be & I still think if only........Love Donna Fargo she was always the best & knew just what to say
I too, heard this song in the late 70's, and have never forgotten the words. I'm sure each one of us could think of someone we wish we could have sent it too. willyn39......as an older woman myself who has dated younger men, I had been 'your' older woman' I would have loved to have received this letter from you!
I was taking a nap and woke up with this song in my head, but couldn't remember the title. Thank you for making this video...I had not heard this song since high school.

I loved it when I was younger, but didn't know why. Now, I know.
Thanks for posting this.
A #1 hit for Donna Fargo on the Country & Western charts. It was the 409th #1 C&W song of the Rock Era. It also hit #1 on the Canadian C&W charts.
