Hello how about if total number of list is not define? Is there a way to not tweak the code each time if the total number of list of names is decreased/increased? Thanks!
You can have a dynamic range in the function. nest an offset function in the height or width argument of the OFFSET function like in this video. I hope this is helpful! ua-cam.com/video/-C1WA528pN4/v-deo.html
Hi, thank you for this video! I followed every step until the end. When I created the button, it wouldn't generate the names for me. I did record my macro and nothing happened with the button. How do I fix this? Names would only generate when I click on "Calculate Now" instead of pressing the button
Thank you for your question! It is kindof hard to tell without looking at it but there are a couple things that you can try. First, double check that the button is assigned to the correct macro by right clicking the button and clicking "Assign macro", then selecting the macro that you recorded if that does not work, another thing to double check is to make sure that your calculations are in the "automatic" setting by going to formulas and calculation options. If those two things are good, it could potentially be something with your macro settings. I hope this is of some help!
Excel will defalt to recalcing the formulas after you open the sheet, but you can turn that feature off though. You can also have it to where it will not recalc after you hit save. I hope this helps!
You can, what I would do is I would have one function that generates a random first name and another one for the last name, and when recording the macro I would just have it to where both the function with the first name and the function with the last name is ran. I hope this is of use.
@@ExcelTutorials1 hi thanks for this tutorial. I manage to remake everything on this video and decided to add a second function like the last name everything works but the problem is "choose" function are simultaneous with the first name when it calculates so the macros generates both my first and last at the same time. Is there a way I can separate the first function? thank you
Hey. I just did what you did, but now whenever I type something into a cell, it randomly generates a name without pressing the button. I have no clue why that is.
The reason why is because whenever you type into a cell the sheet re runs all the calculations that you have on the sheet. If you want it to only run after you press the button go to formulas -> calculation options -> Manual. I hope that this helps, if it does not work I can try and think of something else that may work.

Can you generate a random name and last name? I want to create a name generator using the random name and last name that I made in excel.
