This is a very delicate topic . It'll be difficult to control what people listen to this day and age . Due to social media and globalization . Lets see how everything plays out 🌚.
Every country have their own policies and laws for valid reasons from music propaganda by foreign entities to improper music etc. , the question is has Nigeria attempted or ever ban a foreign song talk less any ghanaian song. FELA was practically insulting the Nigerian giovernment they didn't reach that extent. Ghana music was flowing like milk and honey during 2000's nobody challenged or even beef you and just like the South Africans you felt so comfortable without working hard to maintain it. if you like beef e no matter
"we go push ourselves, can you? 🤭"
I think Ghanians aRe noT getting it. Nigerians don’t have a PROBLEM with you having a Law to encourage Ghanians to Listen to Ghanaian music…the ISSUE is with the 100% BAN on Foreign music, Big Difference… Besides Ghana already has a Law on 80% Local to 20% Foreign music in Ghana Constitution in 2004, soo why aRe Ghanians acting like the Law doesn’t already Exist in Ghana???

Lol Nigerians are experts at spotting opportunities and jumping on it aggressively. A lot of people wanted to do music in the 80s and 90s but couldn't. Back then you had to be a proper musician (able to sing and play instruments) with a proper band and that barrier to entry was way too difficult. That's why we had the likes of Fela and Sunny Ade. Towards the end of the 90s technology pushed down the barriers to entry. The advent of a home computer and music production software meant that the average guy on the street, who was not priviedged like a Victor Uwaifo or Fela, could express himself musically. Now, you see that the profile of a Nigerian musician is totally different; gone are the likes of Oliver De Coque and Shina Peters and now we have Burna Boys and Rema. Same thing happened in the film industry. We always had one, but it wasn't a commercial success until technology saved the day. When the DVD came, Nigerians spotted the opportunity and jumped on it and the rest is history. So my fellow African brothers, I truly believe you are barking up the wrong tree. The 80/20 thing is a myth. Did we ban foreign films as well to grow our movie industry? What about skits and blogging? No we didn't. We found our way and eventually created a market from nothing. If you really want the secret to Nigerian success, come and camp in Lagos, PH and Asaba and study how we go about things. It is not magic. We are always waiting looking for gaps and new opportunities. You haven't even seen anything yet, just let us have a reasonable Government and leadership and see what happens. Peace and one love to all Africans!
Boss, the Nigerian Broadcasting Code isn't a myth. Maybe u should research into that
Again, there was clearly no ban. If you don't believe the music aspect how about film? How do you explain thhe Nollywood success despite the fact that we are innundated still with foreign content from America, Korea, UK etc? That said, I am not saying Ghana or other African countries shouldn't do what they feel they need to do. Just be prepared for the consequences. This is exactly how Ghana killed its film industry; they priced Nigerian producers out thinking it would help and it was a disaster.@@kwameowusubrown7853

What i hate about most of you bloggers and content creators spill misinformation as facts.
First of , the issue with Ghana started when Nigerians where deported out of Ghana in 1969 and as usual you couldn't handle the reciprocation.
Secondly Nigerians want to cancel Blacko because we all know what Ghanaians mean with this whole agenda and he let himself be the poster boy for the campaign. Some Nigerians feel especially betrayed seeing Blacko because he is loved and treasured more than even some Nigerian artists in Nigeria .
Thirdly as for the local content rule . That was D1 talking and he was referring to American music not African . Our policies are never designed to hurt African policies with exception to Buhari's foolish border closure. As for the policy being enshrined in law i have staked with many content creators to show me proof where it is written in Nigerian law.
Now nobody says you shouldn't support your own but you dont fight the larger market doing it and you obviously do it diplomatically especially when you need the other market for their streams .
Blacko has more streams from Nigeria than Ghana .lol. When he was topping our charts did you hear people moaning .
If your being absolutely honest release your list of streams as well and lets see the amount of Nigerians who watch you .
Personally i could care less . I want all of us to do our own thing so we can have peace for once because the Devil has free time in Ghana it is always the Nigerians fault for something or anything at all.
So what did black sherif say that is wrong? You guys are always in your feelings with what Ghana does.

@@topicoflife What he said is irrelevant, what him being there represented meant more . Don't insult our intelligence. We all know "FOREIGN" music is an euphemism for Nigerian music in Ghana.
And for that artist that Nigeria brought into the limelight to stand by such a blatantly targeted initiative against Nigerian music is a spit in the face of Nigerians. Most of that ingrate's stream comes from Nigeria and he had the audacity to stand by an initiative deliberately targeted at the country that turned him into a global star.
If you want your music to cross borders you do so by investing in your talents and showcasing their products in the open market. Not by xenophobically targeting Nigerian music, and then expecting Nigerians to continue to support your artists. You have a right to target and ban Nigerian music. Nigerians also have a right not to support Ghanaian artist, like that ingrate.
Also when you peddle the "Ghana must go narrative" don't conveniently forget to point out that initiative was a retaliation to the deportation of Nigerians from Ghana in 1969.

For there to be a law, it must be a bill first and must pass through some stages in the two houses of our National Assembly ( the Senate and the Rep) then the president will sign and attest to it before it becomes a law.
We do not have such a law! The law in force is the one that bans white models from our adverts. Emphasis is on white models. We never made it for only Nigerians. I guess the wahala is more about association or company than what he (blacko) said. The people he was with were people we Nigerians percieve antagonistic towards us.

What Nigerian wouldn’t do the same if roles were reversed?
There is too much effects and distractions going on in this video. Minimize the effects to keep your audience engaged.
I like it
@emotionkontrolla you are NOT still getting it, If Ghana must develope their music industry it mut come from a place of learning, refining with proof of work, mingling and collaboration (not pride), capital (spend in Nigeria) no free meal even for best underground Nigeria artiste etc...Nigerians learnt from foreigners for over 5 decades that investment is why the dominance cannot be overided among otherthings like population and the economic capital of westafrica (lagos).
Imma give Nigeria that. In Africa no one comes close to the kind of investment they've done in their music industry. And entertainment industry in general . The efforts 🔥. I mean there's always something to learn
Are u talking abt me becus I’m in DM 😂
Only Yorubas struggle with letter H😂... Not all Nigerians 😂😂
😂😂😂😂 let Ghana Ask Cameroon 🇨🇲 what happened when they tried to also barn nigerian music in Cameroon it was Hell on earth 😂😂
I think you shouldn't even highlight this narrative. Well, I guess negative thrives.
Any serious country should have used the parliament to enact laws without calling on the musicians publicly to just speak into the air. You think development is just by words...you need laws and enforcement. Local radios should be punished for breaking such rules, local music should be used for all public events and on our television. The government just put these musicians career at risk just by doing this. This meeting with the stake holders should be private and the laws should be enacted , the masses should be encouraged to abide by such laws....Unserious country as usual, just a waste of time !
SAMINI 📢 Kenya plays East African 🌍 music ( East Africa not Kenya oo)
The same SAMINI 📢 Ban Foreign music!! The last time i checked, Nigeria is still in West Africa 🌍
What does that intells? And what kind of opinion are you leaving me with?
am just laughing.. Nigeria develop movie industry, bring in Ghana in a build Ghana artist, use Thier location but they turn around and want to ban Nigeria movies but what happened ?
they are doing same to their music again.. u can't compete with someone that is not depending on u.. most Nigeria artist makes their wealth outside Africa.

Hm
First, Ghana was the first to push Nigerians out first before there was Ghana must go, but that's in the past, this issues, is all misleading, they should focus on making quality music, not forcing people to listen to some of the mediocre songs most ot them drop
Ghana do give a shit about Nigerian music
Motola said rubbish, Motola and one guy came to 3Music TV, and the other guy said something like this but he couldn't establish the fact.
If there was anything written in the so called law he quoted and linked he would have screenshot it as proof. I read the docs and the section on foreign content. Its says that broadcast stations can have a MINIMUM of 15% FOREIGN content. Emphasis on minimum and not maximum. The guy clearly doesn't understand english.
Lol when they say a minimum of 15% of foreign music should be allowed, what does that mean oga? Clearly u dnt read to understand that's why you're having issues with what Ghana is doing. Relax ur mind, Kontrol your emotions
He should also pin the Ghanaian Law of 80% Local content & 20% Foreign content instituted in Ghana’s Constitution in 2004
@QoffiSleem If you guys can't comprehend simple English how will you comprehend the nuances and complexities of music business. This is why Ghana is lagging behind.
MIMIMUM MEANS THE LEAST FORIEGN CONTENT YOU SHOUKD HAVE.. THIS MEANS THERE IS NO CAP FOR THE AMOUNT OF FORIEGN CONTENT. STOP READING MINIMUM AS MAXIMUM!
@@IfyDon lol bro obviously you failed English in ur waec😂
Just calm down, take a deep breath and read the statement properly. A MINIMUM of 15% SHOULD BE ALLOWED. That means, songs that is allowed to play should not be more than 15%. Kontrol your Emotions 😂
@QoffiSleem So if they had said a Maximum of 15% should be allowed what will that mean? You Failed Maths and English if you ever saw the walls of a school.
No Nigeria artist can be compared to blacko.
Peace and happiness 😂😂😂
Eii so even after pinning the law there ,just click and read to it's a problem for u people 😂😂 free Blacko and stop all these misinformation and agendas

Bring you evidence, boi, I don't know when RayPower represented Nigeria as a hole.
I have a pinned comment 🙈
U don't understand English u pick and choose did u see foreign content minimum 15 mean station discretion could be. More not maximum

You make your bed and you lie on it
The so-called foreign music that has dominated Ghana's top ten is Nigerian music because hip hop and reggae haven't been topping your charts. So, to your A-list artistes, Nigerian music is now foreign music. Besides, Samini mentioned a "Nigerian invasion".
you're stupid and can't understand basic English
Jealousy will kill Nigerians. Selfishness and greedyness till the extend that they do not want to see others being patriotic 😢😢😢.
There is nothing wrong about what blacko said
